Agreed! A thousand + one life lessons can be gathered from just the first 20 minutes of Up. "Love the ones who love you because one day they'll be gone", "Make the most of life while you're young & able", "Don't let loss of a loved one lead to overwhelming survivor's guilt that makes you ornery & sullen, they'd only want the best for you and for you to be happy", and the lessons go on and on! "Up" is the perfect name for that movie. 🎈🏠⛅
There are 3 moments from Luca that stand out for me: when Luca betrayed Alberto, when Alberto told Luca about his dad leaving and when Luca and Alberto share a goodbye hug before Luca leaves for school.
Same! The absolute heartbreak in Alberto’s eyes when Luca betrayed him breaks me, and the ending, I can’t even listen to the soundtrack without breaking down!
The montage at the beginning of "Up" perfectly captures Carl and Ellie's lives growing old together, without needing any dialogue. That moment where he's left all alone, holding the balloon, makes my heart break, every single time! 💔🎈😭
For number 8, when boo opens the door back up and says “kitty”, you can also hear the heartbreak in her voice For number 4, I’m 22 years old and the part where Riley’s parents embrace her is the part that gets me

Because they actually respect their audience. Too much children's media is too soft and light, which just isn't realistic. Darker, more somber moments like the ones here are what keep these stories grounded and much more relatable.
My favorite Pixar sad scene is also a hopeful one. It’s from Soul when Joe comes home after his big gig and he is left unfulfilled of his purpose. He’s earned his spot in a jazz band after years of aspiration, but he’s left feeling empty knowing that it’s as good as it gets to achieve his dreams. The scene where Joe plays the piano home alone always gets me because his brush with near-death and literal out-of-body experience changed his perception of life and purpose. As he was playing and making beautiful music, (courtesy of a brilliant Oscar-deserving score by Nine Inch Nails duo Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross as well as Jon Baptiste from the Late Show House Band) Joe realized that music wasn’t his purpose, but life was. His newfound clarity of life was that he is simply living and how much he had an impact on those he loved and vice versa. Your meaning in life is not the destination, but the journey. It’s incredible to understand such a meaning when the ambient piano music moves you as it did for me.
I love that the ending of Onward was an honorable mention. I mean, many Pixar films are great, but in my opinion Onward is one Pixar movie that deserves more credit and respect.
The most heartbreaking part of Monsters Inc. was when Boo opened her closet to find a regular closet inside. It was worse when she asks where Sulley is by saying, ".....Kitty?"
Sully saying goodbye to Boo, Bing Bong’s sacrifice, and Andy saying goodbye to his toys are without a doubt the most brutality heartbreaking Pixar scenes 💔😭
The "When she loved me" song does get me into tears when I think about my mom and I together. I never blame Dory for forgetting about almost everything, she's been my favorite childhood character all this time and I wish I was her best and kind friend to help her. Even Toy Story 3 and Up definitely makes me burst into tears.
I know my reasoning is very personal, but that scene from Brave is top five for me. When the movie came out I watched it and liked it well enough but couldn't really relate. Fast forward a few years. I lost my mom to breast cancer and miss her every day. Now the apology is like a knife in my heart.
Oh goodness I bet, Rebecca... If I could just say... As a mother myself, I know first hand the way we moms have a God given way of knowing our kids hearts. I'd be willing to bet big bucks that your mom knew every inch of your heart. I am so sorry for your loss dear, sending you big ((HUGS)).

Coco always has a place in my heart. I’m Mexican and I was overjoyed when I saw a filmed about my culture. It makes me so happy that it spread the holiday of Día de los muertos and now many more people can celebrate this tradition.
My top 10: 10) Broken wall-e (wall-e) 9) Woody says goodbye(Toy story 4) 8) Sully say goodbye to boo (monsters inc) 7) Barley speaks his dad (onward) 6) Andy give his toys to Bonnie (Toy story 3) 5)Hector talks about his daughter (coco) 4) Jessie and Emily (Toy story 2) 3) Bing bong dies (Inside out) 2) the barracuda attack (finding Nemo) 1) Ellie’s death (up)
Damn You Pixar! I sobbed on all these scenes. Especially when Jessie described Emily in toy story 2, forget it. It was a big sobbing deal! And Sarah McLachlan singing “when she loved me”. I lost it.
As a child, I cried when boo didn’t see sully. That ending was sad but as a adult the movie that got me in total tears in Coco when Miguel sung remember me to mama coco, it was so touching and sad
Idk why Mcqueen’s crash was just an honorable mention, and why the kings crash wasn’t on here at all. When Lightning Mcqueens crash happened, the entire theatre was in tears because as Cars relates to real world events, people couldn’t stomach it because it probably reminded them of when their sports idol or hometown team’s star had that one injury or moment where you knew that it was all over for them and that it would never be the same. That was a career, almost a life thrown out the window. It lets you know to enjoy your gift while you still have it, because one day its gonna be all over. Where everyone lost it was when the ambulances surrounded Maqueen who was almost dead and Sally watching in despair as she may become a widow, and then cuts to Maqueen sitting in a shed with his paint job scrubbed of and looking at how doc crashed and accepting that it was over for him. Reminds me of Dale Sr. Crash in 2001.
Even just seeing the smallest clips of when Rylie expresses her true feelings to her parents in Inside Out brings me to tears, and it amazes me on how Pixar can always just tug at our heartstrings so badly like this! 😭😭
If Wall-E losing his memories made the list I think Merida's mother fully becoming a bear and losing *her* memories should have as well, instead of being an honorable mention.
For me it’s the very end of Coco when mama Coco is reunited with her papa in the land of the dead as an old lady. Also, when Hector finally crosses the bridge for the first time (bonus points: with his family) UGH gets me every time 😭
The saddest part is when Disney put Soul and Luca on Disney+ rather than theaters, so I couldn’t tear up at those moments as they couldn’t leave any real emotional impact.
@@RealSirMikay Both Soul and Luca only showed in theaters in select countries, including China. Not in the USA though, but to be fair, both movies were shown at the El Capitan Theatre down in LA.
1. Miguel Sings "Remember Me" to Coco 2. Jessie's Past 3. "I'm Not Strong Enough." 4. Woody & his friends almost get incinerated 5. "Take her to the moon for me. Okay?" Honorable Mentions: Sulley says goodbye to Boo, Merida apologizing to her mother, Lightning McQueen's Crash
I'd rather have chosen in the honorable mentions instead of Mcqueen's accident in Cars 3, the sequence of Cars 1 in which Lightening stops at the arrival and helps the King to finish his last race... soooo moving for me!!
Between Jessie's heartbreaking flashback through her backstory about her former owner in Toy Story 2, Flik's banishment in A Bug's Life and tragic scene where Ellie Fredricksen ages to her death in Up, the saddest part in Baltimore Pigeons that usually makes me cry (not really) is the death of Jake, Percy and Melvin's older brother, in the aftermath of the peregrine Falcon's attack.
A sad moment in _Cars_ was the “Our Town” segment. However, leave it Doc Hudson to call in McQueen’s departure. As someone who doesn’t like _Toy Story_ that much, I only wish that franchise had ended with the crew’s destruction.
When Riley tries to leave her new home man that freaking feeling of just giving up and going back to her comfort zone, that for me is still the most sad Pixar movies moment...
With Inside Out I think the most tear inducing moment was when Joy realizes how much Sadness is needed and let's her take control of Riley. The transition of Sadness slowly taking control to Riley kinda staring off and finally letting her sadness out was just gut wrenching
Here are a few more honorable mentions: Radiator Springs got taken off of the map. (Cars) Doc Hudson’s death (Cars 2) Sulley’s cheating exposed (Monsters University) Mike and Sulley say goodbye to Oosma Kappa after getting expelled for the door lab incident (Monsters University) Luca and Elberto’s goodbye (Luca)
thats exactly what ive said. the last shot of 3 was the clouds in the sky & thats how the first one all started. it was the perfect finale. the shorts & tv specials after that were awesome but a fourth movie was such a stupid idea & ruined everything
instead of making Toy Story 4 as a movie they could have made it as a short like the others and then continue Toy Story without ruin the end of the third movie
Just goes to show how while PIXAR’s movies are primarily for kids, they are bond to make anyone love them. Even for me as a now mature 20 year old boy.
Number 5 for me, Dory spent most of her life trying to find something she can't remember but she knows it's important. Man it's like trying to complete a game and keep losing the save data
The thing about the UP montage, is that it is such a complete story all on its own. One of the best complete stories that Pixar has ever told without saying a single word. The love, the joy, the devistation, and the grief. You feel that, without being told you should. That is great storytelling.
At least Pixar movies are kinda life lessons to learn. Also, there’s one I might add, when buzz finds out he’s a toy and tries to fly out of Sid’s window but then fails and loses his arm. Not to mention the song ‘I will go sailing no more’ plays.
Lightning McQueen’s Crash in Cars 3 because I wore a red Nike shirt with a lot of black streaks that represented that part of the movie when I saw it on the theatrical release date of Friday, June 16th 2017.😮
Sully saying goodbye to Boo Mama Coco singing Remember Me Toy Story 2: Jessie getting abandoned by Emily and Toy Story 3 Andy giving up Woody. Those moments still makes me cry
If was I was even half what is considered normal with all my over dramatic nature, I'd have sobbed at all these moments, but I do recall crying at least 3 times from these options
I got free passes for Inside Out when I went to see Maleficent when most of Inside Out was still storyboards. It was a test screening of sorts and I took my mom and my sister. The feelings did not change.
I just noticed an Easter Egg in toy story 3 when woody says “I don’t think that’s daylight” it’s similar to finding Nemo when marlin says “I don’t think it’s a little fella”
Coco was both emotional and wonderful and I love the scene where Mama Coco and Miguel sing remember me together and I also love it when Miguel says to mama Coco “your papa loved you so much”
I actually see Coco remembering Hector after Miguel sings Remember Me to her as more of a happiness-inducing scene that elicits tears of joy to the viewers.
Toy Story 3 was such a perfect way to wrap the series (I’m not a fan of the 4th movie at all) I ball my eyes out every time Woody says so long partner to Andy
But what really heartbreaking of all is that Carl Frederickson voice-over actor Ed Asner passed away before "Dug Days" premiered on Disney+. RIP Ed Asner. 🥺😖😔💔
What about when Sully accidently scared Boo in Monsters Inc? Or Mike and Sully by the lake scene in Monsters University? Or When Buzz learns he really is a toy from the first Toy Story movie?

For me it’s the very end of Coco when mama Coco is reunited with her papa in the land of the dead as an old lady. Also, when Hector finally crosses the bridge for the first time (bonus points: with his family) UGH gets me every time 😭
The beginning of Up was so sad 😭😭😭😭.
The saddest part is when Disney put Soul and Luca on Disney+ rather than theaters, so I couldn’t tear up at those moments as they couldn’t leave any real emotional impact.
I think Luca was in theaters for some time... I might be mistaken.
@@RealSirMikay Both Soul and Luca only showed in theaters in select countries, including China. Not in the USA though, but to be fair, both movies were shown at the El Capitan Theatre down in LA.
1. Miguel Sings "Remember Me" to Coco
2. Jessie's Past
3. "I'm Not Strong Enough."
4. Woody & his friends almost get incinerated
5. "Take her to the moon for me. Okay?"
Honorable Mentions: Sulley says goodbye to Boo, Merida apologizing to her mother, Lightning McQueen's Crash
Shoot. It's just a list with glimpses of those moments and I'm already crying.
Me too. 🥲
Could you do a top 10 saddest DreamWorks moments ever list too?
If you can sit through this video without remembering getting hit in the feels by about half these moments, then I'm questioning if you're even human
I need to cry today, so this is great!
That’s a sad one bro cos some of it actually is true, towns and communities were erased because of the decommissioning of Route 66
When Riley tries to leave her new home man that freaking feeling of just giving up and going back to her comfort zone, that for me is still the most sad Pixar movies moment...
Let's be honest, all of us saw #1 coming from a mile away.
I thought the end of Onward would be much higher!
Pixar are the BEST at making a lot of people cry with their emotional scenes in their movies!!! 😭😢
With Inside Out I think the most tear inducing moment was when Joy realizes how much Sadness is needed and let's her take control of Riley. The transition of Sadness slowly taking control to Riley kinda staring off and finally letting her sadness out was just gut wrenching
Here are a few more honorable mentions:
Radiator Springs got taken off of the map. (Cars)
Doc Hudson’s death (Cars 2)
Sulley’s cheating exposed (Monsters University)
Mike and Sulley say goodbye to Oosma Kappa after getting expelled for the door lab incident (Monsters University)
Luca and Elberto’s goodbye (Luca)
Pixar really is heartbreaking sometimes
Toy Story 3 was a perfect finale. It didn't need a fourth one. They could of just make a short of where Bo Peep was.
thats exactly what ive said. the last shot of 3 was the clouds in the sky & thats how the first one all started. it was the perfect finale. the shorts & tv specials after that were awesome but a fourth movie was such a stupid idea & ruined everything
instead of making Toy Story 4 as a movie they could have made it as a short like the others and then continue Toy Story without ruin the end of the third movie
💯💯
Just goes to show how while PIXAR’s movies are primarily for kids, they are bond to make anyone love them. Even for me as a now mature 20 year old boy.
That scene in coco where she remembers again and says with a soft voice “what’s wrong Mija “ struck a hard chord. choked up so hard
MsMojo woke up and decided to make us cry
At least Pixar movies are kinda life lessons to learn. Also, there’s one I might add, when buzz finds out he’s a toy and tries to fly out of Sid’s window but then fails and loses his arm. Not to mention the song ‘I will go sailing no more’ plays.
Lightning McQueen’s Crash in Cars 3 because I wore a red Nike shirt with a lot of black streaks that represented that part of the movie when I saw it on the theatrical release date of Friday, June 16th 2017.😮
Damn watch mojo. Thanks for making me cry.
Sully saying goodbye to Boo
Mama Coco singing Remember Me
Toy Story 2: Jessie getting abandoned by Emily and Toy Story 3 Andy giving up Woody. Those moments still makes me cry
If was I was even half what is considered normal with all my over dramatic nature, I'd have sobbed at all these moments, but I do recall crying at least 3 times from these options
Inside Out really hurts my heart so bad😔
I literally cried watching this video when you got the inside out one. That movie hits me hard.
Coco was both emotional and wonderful and I love the scene where Mama Coco and Miguel sing remember me together and I also love it when Miguel says to mama Coco “your papa loved you so much”
from the part where Miguel is hovering over hector and hector is disappearing to the end of the movie of Coco that's when i usually start crying.
I actually see Coco remembering Hector after Miguel sings Remember Me to her as more of a happiness-inducing scene that elicits tears of joy to the viewers.
How Can An Animated Movie Production Company Be So Good At Making Tears Fall!?
Toy Story 3 was such a perfect way to wrap the series (I’m not a fan of the 4th movie at all) I ball my eyes out every time Woody says so long partner to Andy
That scene when andy left on toy story 3 hit hard for me
it was the perfect finale & i still cant believe pixar ruined it with a fourth one
we all feel the pain of this ending
I still remember it today and it was 10 years ago...
But what really heartbreaking of all is that Carl Frederickson voice-over actor Ed Asner passed away before "Dug Days" premiered on Disney+. RIP Ed Asner. 🥺😖😔💔
"Bring tissues"
Man I wish I knew that when I first saw it in theaters alot of it hits way too close to home for me to keep a stoic face
Arlo and Spot howling at the moon, Arlo lets Spot go, and Arlo finally making it home. The Good Dinosaur
i cant think of anything sadder in not just pixar but all movies that's sadder than the up opening
I'm a 22 year old man and that ending to toy story 3 always makes me cry
The Pixar short, Partly Cloudy about the relationship between a stork and a thunder cloud. Gets me every time
What about when Sully accidently scared Boo in Monsters Inc? Or Mike and Sully by the lake scene in Monsters University? Or When Buzz learns he really is a toy from the first Toy Story movie?
