You always make the BEST points!!! Couldn’t be more on the nose about Celine’s more “curated” approach 🖤 I think it’s a pretty obvious push to solidify Celine’s marketability in a very longstanding way which I completely respect. I could absolutely see you with the chicest of lizard mini 16 bags when the time is right 😍
Great analysis. It's a beautiful collection with a lot of cute pieces. It's very juvenile sometimes but i love the outerwear. I think Hedi will stay at Celine for a longtime. He is building an universe and i think Celine will be his legacy in fashion. I also think LVMH wants to turn those brands into lifestyle brands. Celine has a line of little homewear accessories too. And i think that to really settle Celine in that, longevity and consistency will be key. I can see Hedi at Celine for 20 years. He is developping beauty. At Dior Homme, he has introduced watches. So far, he has introduced HF Jewelry at Celine. I can see him doing watches too in few years. He has a strong identity and his Celine is successful. I don't see him at Givenchy but it's interesting that LVMH is taking it time to choose the right person for Givenchy. They have probably learned from their mistakes post-Riccardo Tisci. The next CD there will probably have for goal to turn the brand into a 1billion brand.
Yes I could see him at Celine for a long time too! I think LVMH wants to play it safe, and Hedi at Celine has been such a great recipe. I think they have such a strong vision, creative direction and marketing. Yes I agree, I don't see him at Givenchy even though the thought briefly crossed my mind. I hope they do take their time and pick the right person. Thank you so much for watching❤️
I don't think so, only because this show marks his new contract, being at Celine over the 5 year mark now. Also this beauty line is very ambitious. But who knows with LVMH. Thank you so much for watching Mark🙌
I was wondering when you were going to chat about this collection lol. I loved it. It felt like a big rollout for the beauty collection coming. That red lipstick is gorgeous.
agreed, this show seems so so pristine and perfectionistic that it lacks energy, edge and for me, a kind of excitement of what's to come. Btw, do you know where is this beautiful museum in the show? thanks again for your video!
Yes it was very perfectionist! From reading the credits on the Celine youtube it states it was shot at LA SALLE PLEYEL, LE MUSÉE BOURDELLE’S SALLE DES PLÂTRES & LA MAISON DE LA CHIMIE. Thank you so much for watching❤
Yes!! I think it was a combination of no live shows and no obscure indie bands, and the prim-properness was signalling a total different vibe. Thank you so much for watching🙌
Mary, you always give the best analysis with all the references. I don’t know how I feel about Hedi’s “new” direction just yet. I do appreciate the triomphe bag with the longer shoulder strap. It’ll also be interesting to see how Celine Beauty plays out.
Honestly the more I watch it, the more I get it and see how this is aligned with the larger vision of Celine but I will always love the indie undertones of his collections. Also so curious to try Celine beauty. Thank you so much for watching Isaac❤️
I was a child in the 60ies, but I remember very well the fashion at the time since my oldest sister was at the age where she started to be quite fashion oriented. A lot of the trends we see now is very inspired by the 60ies. E.g the Miu Miu slingback kitten heel from last year would have been quite typical at the time. I remember how infatuated I was with the white boots and the mini skirts already then. Only later when brands became a thing, I found out they were Courèges. It was a huge trend. With this beautiful Celine collection I hope other brands also will tap into the same strong trend from the 60ies. Personally I would love to revisit that era.
I finally had some time to watch your video. It gave me goosebumps lol. THIS is the kind of fashion content I long for on RUclips. Everyone does hauls. No one deep dives into history of the houses, except a few. I love your videos on Heidi. I absolutely love him. The only way he’s leaving Celine is on his own terms. Though I could see him at Givenchy, Bernard isn’t moving his rock star that’s turned this brand into a luxury juggernaut. I watched the show and instantly Thought of Couregges. Love the honoring of Avedon. Heidi is a very talented photographer and actually directs all these season videos Celine puts out. I will say, you also hit the nail on the head….the collection was missing something. The edge was missing. It was all very beautiful and refined. Part of what I love about Heidi’s shows are googling the music after that he used in his shows and finding some obscure indie sleaze band to get excited about it. There was a coldness to the whole thing. Not saying I didn’t love it. And I’m sure we’ll see the rock and roll aesthetic again from him. But something was off. You’re also right, the exotics are the true stars of the bags. All of that croc and lizard is so gorgeous. You can only make so many calfskin bags look good, right? Luxury moving forward is having an exotic bag, for better or for worse. I love how they look, but feel horrible about what has to happen to create those bags. This was a phenomenal video. Partly bc you know Heidi so well and have well documented a lot of what he’s done. I’m a huge fan of this show kind of reminded me of his very last show at Saint Laurent, the Haute couture very polished looking 80’s severe dresses and makeup. It also had that gorgeous heart shaped red fur jacket Rihanna once wore lol. Love your videos. Very well thought out and done and it literally gave me goosebumps. This is the content i absolutely love. Thank you!
Ahh thank you so much Pat🙏 I agree, LVMH is very fortunate to have him and while it was welcomed at first I think he's proven he knows what he is doing and few CDs today have this same track record for success. Yes, the more I watch this show the more I fall in love this new direction. It's different but I trust he knows what he is doing. I know this show is part of next potential next 5 year contract, I think, and already excited to see where this next phase of Celine. Ahh yes such a good point about his last SL show🙌 Thank you as always for watching and sharing your enthusiasm Pat🙏🙏🙏
wow this was gorgeous! loving the triomphe bag with the short shoulder strap -- i just wish they would come out with one with a strap that is convertible from short shoulder to crossbody. that would be the dream for my capsule collection!
I was SO eager to hear your opinion about the show. Thank you for another thoughtful take, lots of food for though (the Givenchy nod and potential ramifications...oooh!)t. Yes, definitely a more conservative turn if we contrast this collection with the previous ones; the show at the LA Wiltern that was just explosively amazing (for this one, yes, I also think they could have done better to help it cement the mood and direction, it was disappointing, ). And the Triomphe logo mania is here to stay, for sure (thank god, I got the sunglasses, so they better be on trend for a while! ) :)
Yes the Wiltern was exactly that explosive, so full of energy, but I think they are pivoting to a more dior-lite direction. Which can be very commercially successful, I hope the brand doesn't lose it's edge. Agree The Triomphe is going nowhere. Hedi is likely here for another 5 years and they have even greater ambitions for the brand. Thank you so much for watching❤️
Love this collection! Pls take pic wearing the lipstick; let us know if it’s creamy and rich . The collection is elegant. Love the 60”s Audrey Hepburn vibe😊
I recently came across your page and I really like it. Are you a lady of NY experience? You seem very much like a Manhattan or even a high end Queens type of woman. I enjoy your knowledge and personal style. You give me hope for the future of stylish (adult) people 🙌🏾!
While it is a departure from the indie girl, I feel like this collection ties neatly with Hedi's CELINE quarantine movie list, which featured tons of movies from the 60s, particularly Charade which stars Audrey Hepburn. I feel like the soundtrack for the collection would fit neatly with the movie. It has a very elegant-action-mystery-thriller feeling. This is also not the first time that Hedi may have been inspired by Givenchy. Kaia mentioned how she wanted her CELINE polka dot dress to reference one of Givenchy's dresses for Audrey.
Ohh yes I remember that list!! Now that you mention it I see it, definitely a change from his usual soundtrack style. Ohh great point about Kaia's Givenchy inspired dress. Thank you so much for sharing your insight🙌
Nice collection but all skirts, dresses and coats are much too short. It’s not a realistic collection for everyday wear. Where are, we women, going with this collection? Certainly not to work.
It is interesting that they didn’t make the red lip part of the show if they intend to bring that lipstick out and it seems that it could have worked with the show esthetic?
(obviously not happening but) they should just get riccardo tisci back to givenchy - it's the ONLY era that really worked, the brand blew up because of him, and all the work done by every CD after tisci has just been derivative versions of what he did there.
Haha! I honestly think Tisci really did capture the late 00s, 2010s in fashion at Givenchy. If they give the right designer a chance, and give the designer some time to develop, it could be really good. Thank you so much for watching❤️
Total cosplay. You will never capture the zeitgeist of the sixties from which these designs sprung. Can't young designers create clothes that actually reflect their own time and vibe?
@@MarysRoom After a little thought, I think I was a bit harsh. When I was young (in the 60's and 70's), we loved to wear vintage 40's and 50's, so I shouldn't begrudge young people wanting to experience 60's design. It was fabulous! So what is the 2020's?....a bralette, some panties, a broad shouldered suit coat and a fancy bag?
Celine really nailed this collection
They really did❤️
Love this collection
It's so good❤️
I get Chanel vibes from this
I think the same, but I love Chanel so that’s good.
I see it!!
Really good video ….
Thank you so much Heather❤️
Love 60s-Audrey inspo
Same❤️

Yes definitely, its a curated long-term vision of the brand. Ahh yes, a Celine exotic is a dream. Thank you so much for watching❤️❤️❤️
Those clothes are so clean, modern and chic. I’m in love with the 60s referencing and those hats!!! Celine did a fantastic job with this collection.
I totally agree!🙌
Beautiful video! Thank you!
❤️❤️❤️

This was not a typical new Celine collection but it still had a lot of Hedi-isms you can spot a mile away. But I agree I miss the live shows😢

i luv Richard Avedon's art style through the median photography
It's stunning🙌

Is Celine open about the origins their exotic leathers?
It is LVMH so whatever LVMH standards are, Celine follows.

Yes good point! I'd prefer the jackets and coats. Thank you for watching Dona❤️
My humble opinion as a buyer, this is not the Celine I will buy as I love many pieces from the current collections.
Great perspective❤️
It is interesting that they didn’t make the red lip part of the show if they intend to bring that lipstick out and it seems that it could have worked with the show esthetic?
