That’s the first game i downloaded since i bought a steering wheel for my pc, after i manage to download assetto corsa and project cars, i spent like 80€ maybe even more on this game and it’s still my favorite game... especially for dtm cars
You summarise RaceRoom very well apart from not emphasising the sim's excellent audio, probably the best in the simracing genre. One of the main reasons for the relative lack of popularity is the convoluted purchasing process, which involves a virtual currency, "VRP". However, the great FFB and audio make a sublime combination, which every simracer should try at least once. (Please note the FFB can be tricky to set up to your liking simply because there are so many tuneable options.) Now, could you please make a similar video about Automobilista - which is even more underrated than Raceroom! :-)
How could you not mention the incredible sound engine RaceRoom has? It's the best one out there and sound is quite important for the immersion in a sim
Two important things missing from this review: 1st, the sound sets it apart from other sims, which I find one of the most important aspects in a race sim. 2nd, the ability to drive side by side, nudging your competitors, without catapulting off the track... this leads to an absolutely epic and rewarding feeling. Surely, being able to race like this is what any racer wants!
R3E is indeed a good sim, regarding tyre temps 2:14 and brakes temperature 7:02 just bind a button to cycle through the internal "Motec" dash (Control Settings/Edit Assignments/Data Display Flip Page) (of course only applies to the cars where the info is available IRL)
Answering your thumbnail: Easy, because the game has no relation to console gaming and the developer (as awesome as they are) has fallen into a state of silent communication with their fans. The so called GTR3 is still nowhere to be seen as it was sceduled for this year, which was way too optimistic obviously. I like simbin, I mean sector 3, but their well known place in the world of sim racing and motorsport experiences has been torn apart by various other games like assetto corsa, iracing or even project cars. RaceRoom has rolled on very very VERY slowly with outrageous waiting times between the updates. Other games who never intended to evolve in the way they are now (looking at you iracing) have overtaken this game by far and people keep in mind: This game started on steam in 2010 and got a debatable "full release version" in 2013. Since then the game has evolved more consistent and noticeable, but still people are playing other games, because there is a thing about raceroom what makes people ignore the game. There is no base game, only a few tracks for testing a very few cars. All the other tracks and racing series you can possibly buy in this game are pretty expensive and not even final when you look at the additions they make inside of these classes, so you have to buy some extra content over and over again, which is not a good idea.
Yeah, the thing about the newly added GT4 class and the 'now free' FR-J class and Sepang kinda infuriates players who already bought the Premium Pack, they have no choice but to buy the whole pack even though they already paid 100 euros for the Premium Pack... It's sad that buying the Premium Pack doesn't have the guarantee of having the future updates, but you know to develop it even further the devs needs the fund needed to make them able to work on the things such as updated physics. Hopefully the devs finally able to bring what players most wanted from the game : multi-class racing in single player mode and Endurance racing competitions....
Undefined Logic Won’t be taken seriously anymore, performance dumbed down, games reputation down the drain since console multiplayer is all casuals who can’t drive, and most original consoles probably wouldn’t be able to run it.
Every game is cheaper than IRacing .I Racing , is Beyond ;5k euro For a full package and around lets , say 500 For 3 years subscription,Assetto Corsa is 69€ with all dlc (60% of cintent comes from mods),Project Cars 2 is around 50€, race room with all cars tracks is roughly around the 400€ mark and considering what it has to offer is a fucking joke ...also in race championship you do have always the RAMMERS; so competition is terrible .
For a person who admires mainly driving aspect of simulator, R3E gives me THE BEST feeling through FFB (and AUDIO), in VR it is the closest thing to actually driving a real car, other sims do better in other aspects, but pure driving pleasure is R3E! Sales model is NOT A PROBLEM, just wait for a Black Friday and get everything cheap!
@@wheelspin6178 advanced and feels best are two separate things though, A LOT of is due FFB, in pcars2 i have to adjust every single car (and every time) for FFB to feel good. In R3E, once i found sweet spot, it works pretty much with all cars.
@@wheelspin6178 it is not THAT bad in pcars2, i just need to adjust FFB volume for different car classes, still FFB is a very personal thing for everyone, i am the one who tinkers a lot until i find that perfect feel.
Personally i find raceroom the best sim out there it has really good physics you can run it on basically anything and it has some free content so you can try it before you but the rest what the game has to offer i have spend anout 150 bucks on all content and i am really happy with it
I have always been a big fan of this underrated sim and since the latest build where they have updated DD FFB support its gone up a whole new level in my opinion. Thanks for taking the time to put this video together and highlighting the features of R3E.
For someone to get more "training" immersion, you can set your "Track Detail Level" on low - so you have no spectators/crowd in Training - it's a good immersion boost.
I tried race room when it first came out and didn't like it. Tried it again about a month ago and wow its probably the best rece SIM out there In my opinion! The car handling is just amazing. You can really feel what the car is doing and really feel the difference in the cars handling when you change the car setup. This SIM really dose deserve more love than it gets!!
11:25 but that's a good thing. also graphics look absolutely fine and it looks very clean with almost no anti-aliasing problems. But the future plan is to move from DX9 to something new. maybe UE4 or DX11.. it's investigated by the developers for quite some time now. Also you have to keep in mind that Sector3 is just the developer and develops Raceroom for the "Raceroom Entertainment AG", which is connected to KW automotive (KW Suspensions). Klaus Wohlfarth (CEO and founder of KW Suspension) is highly involved in Raceroom AG. The "Raceroom Entertainment AG" builds and provides simulators for public events and racing cafés (like the one at the Nürburgring) all over the world. The main task of Sector3 Studios is to develop content and features that Raceroom AG dictates them and what they want in their racing cafés... that we can play Raceroom at home is more or less a byproduct of this business. The main revenue is made of these racing cafés and events and I can imagine that it's also somehow cross-financed. That's the main reason that some features got "dumbed down" or some other highly wanted features are still not in the game. What "Raceroom AG" demands has the higher priority, that's also the reason why the multiclass option/AI Selector (that's now finally included since december patch) took so long to find it's way into the sim.
2:15 lies, you don't need any mod or app to see tyre temps. Bind a button to see it. You can see tyre temps, brake temp, etc...all info is in the dashboard of the car and it varies from car to car.
-it is the most polished game in the market -and they do 8-10 patch each year updating, changing or polishing tons of things. -everything is very good, the audio is one of the best in the GAME industries, not only sim. -it is the only game whit a good cut rule system. if you cut it understand if it is an error or something giving you an advantage. only in the second case it gives you a penalty proportionate to the advantage -the server side is the one with the less options from a legue manager point of view. which is probably the main cause of the less popularity. -but it has a great and the best live mode for streaming with commentary
yeah, let's evaluate a game for features it's not aimed at. it's a racing sim and it's about NOT crashing. if you want a good crash simulator you get BeamNG-drive
Audio is sublime. Not only engines, exhausts crackling, tyres squaking... Kerbs, surfaces, and specially in-car noises when severe movement (holes, bumps, weigth transfer, and so on...) effects are top notch. This sets R3E miles away from all the competitors. This game comes with many common "top" tracks, but also comes with plenty of unknown and interesting tracks from Europe mainly.
Wow, I've been waiting for this since I requested it, and thanks so much for making this review...! I see that you're getting the Pro Pack, which is nice. ;) As a 'devoted' RaceRoom player, I do agree with what you've experienced in the game. The suspension model is the high plus for this game, especially when you're running on the Hillclimb course (although I couldn't really feel it since I used a controller, so I need to 'feel' it with my own eyes XD), and another thing you kinda forgot to explain was the sound of the cars, it's just pure eargasm to hear those authentic engine sounds... Yeah, talking about tire punctures, it is not present unfortunately. The lack of tire compound selections for certain classes (well, GT racing series usually only had one tire compound, which yeah we couldn't really debate about it) kinda takes away the strategies that we could use on the race. Also, it has been requested by so many players to the developers that they should include the multi-class racing in single player mode, but as far as I'm concerned, the devs haven't work anything for it yet.... About the 'there are only race cars' thing, yeah since they focused on MP and online competitions, they really only focused on getting the license of official racing series like WTCR and DTM. The closest you can get to real normal road cars are German Nationals class, which only include two modified Mercedes from Carlsson, and from what my friends in the community told me, they are so bad in terms of physics, the dev basically don't really care about them since no one really plays them in MP lobbies... The rumor has it that since now the leaderboards shows the rank of the players, there has been a talk of making an official racing competition based on their ranks in the future. Also there has been a hint dropped by the devs from the last update notes that they will include official endurance racing competitions as well, again based on the players' ranks (you know, probably they will include something like Pro-Am racing like in real GT series, with A-B ranks as 'Pro' and C-D and unclassified as 'Am'). But yeah at least to make that happen they need to rework the game to include dynamic time change, temperatures, shadows effects, etc. Fingers crossed that if iRacing as an old game can make it real, why not RaceRoom...? :) Speaking of which, I want to know your opinion about the latest iRacing's dynamic time and weather physics system. Do you like it, like many other players who highly praised this major update....? [EDIT : Now the dev released the multi-class racing in Single Player mode, which is a long-overdue but very welcomed update. :D]
It doesn't have features such as tires' pressure, wiper and light button assignments? Strange, because in the earlier game (Race Injection) they exist. And Race Injection also has mouse for steering control and keyboard sensitivity level, which I found it a pleasant treatment for those who can't afford steering wheels.
It's not so strange if you know the history of Raceroom. It was originally intended to be used internally only for KW Suspension in their racing booths at real races, and for that reasons, quite a few features that were in the game were basically thrown out. Later they decided to release the game as a regular sim, but putting those missing features back was no longer trivial due to the changes that have been made to the game since. But in regard to tyre pressures, they are still in the game and they do work in terms of affecting car handling, it's just that they are not user adjustable and are always set to ideal.
@@haryosoo More accurately, you see their logo everywhere in the game because KW Suspension owns the whole Raceroom brand (which goes beyond the game and also includes home rigs, for example) and is responsible for all the business decisions related to it, Sector 3 are just the guys that develop the game for them.
Hint: If you want more info about your tires etc then change the dash. The dash on board the GT3 cars for example has multiple screens with different information. ACC also has this feature. I have a key mapped on my wheel so I can switch between screens.
Well done! I play Raceroom now for several years and everything in this video is true. I'd like to add one aspect: The fantastic car sounds (best compared to every other sim I know).
No need app or mod to see tyres temp. You just need assign button to "data display flip page". Also assign button to "toggle speed cluster". With "toggle speed cluster" you can change HUD. It's need for some cars who don't have display in cockpit because with another HUD you can use "data display flip page" in all cars.
Very nice and interesting material. I would urge you to take more depth into each sim in a similar fashion dissecting it's features such type of approach is highly asked for around the simracing community. Hope you will have the time to produce similar content for other sims as well!
R3E = 1. Top sounds effects, currently no one can beat RRRE!!!! Recorded from an electric Tesla car to exclude background noises and each car has its own specific audio file. In size from Mono to 8.1!!!! Not 7... but 8! Tell me another racing game supporting 8.1 surround... 2. Top feeling of speed, challenging AI, and more than decent graphics for a driving game. 3. One of the best FFB i ever felt and a credible physical engine. The sum of these three factors make it engaging and exciting as a few. So to conclude a must have for a simracing fan. I would however like to add that the real strength of RRRE lies in the DTM, WTCC and WTCR classes, for those who are follower of these tourism championships is the best. With all the drivers, the teams and the official liveries. This in the review is not shown properly. As it is not emphasized attention on the care directed to the sound effects of the car... engine, transmission, exhaust, tires, you feel them all under your butt. Like you're in the car. Why is it less successful than the others? One reason may be the high overall cost and the payment method conceived compared to others such as Project Cars 2 or Assetto Corsa. And the fact that the console version does not exist. ... fortunately? :) The advertising that can afford Bandai/Namco or 505games are not for the finances of the SimBin crew. The only flaw? No weather, no day/night cicle and...The prices of the store... around 2-4eur for 1 car, 0.30eurocent for 1 livery (there are many), 5-7euro for 1 track... 100 Euro for the complete package (120+ cars 35+tracks) the minimum expenditure... Or you can personalize it according to your car tastes saving something... but the real convenience is found in the complete package. All cars… All tracks… No remorse. Basically you spend more buying 2 years in a row the next call of duty…. sry for my google english translator.
Raceroom has always been my favourite sim, simply because of how good it sounds. I think you can actually get a puncture if you roll over some debris or something. I always experience this when running over broken front wings of the FR 17. It did surprise me, however, that you didn't mention its stunning audio.
I bought it yesterday mainly for tcr and dtm. Tried rfactor2 for a week and it felt amazing but it's so unpolished, the menu is straight from gtr2 and so hard to setup. Now I can't decide what to play between ac and rre, so tire pressure is coming soon?
In your opinion, talking about physic, gravity is good... well... i flipped a lot of cars touching kerbs with the right weight transfer... gravity in that sense is trash in my opinion. talking about brake temperatures... using the app and monitoring them, i managed to see a difference between cold and hot brakes, with the same car in the same session, braking at the same exact place, when i had cold brakes the car wouldn’t brake and lock the tyres, but when they were hot i had to lift the brake pedal for not locking the tyres. btw awesome video as always❤️
I downloaded it on Tuesday and got it to where I could test out a couple cars. Will need to set up my steering wheel, along with the rest of the game. Have been on iRacing for 8 years and I love the sounds, along with the feel of the suspension in Raceroom. In the Lotus 79, iRacing doesn't have the sound of the car, but, I would guess it is hard to duplicate the actual sound of a car that Historic.
It looks great IMO. Not everyone wants to mod and tweak every little thing. There are enough games like that. Some of us like a simple game. I think they did good.
As an owner of all R3E content i will say Its the best Simulation for me... And it doesnt need the popularity of an PCars or similar title - Its good in this therms it does... And the Sound 🤗🤗🤗🤗... There is no other Sim that produces this Sound and the very good laserscanner Tracks, expect iRacing.
Please, in the future, review Automobilista, it's a very famous sim here in brazil, even some Drivers from Stock-Car use it as training, i've heard that Rubens Barrichelo play it time to time (he's gone to Stock Car after his F1 carreer)
This is a great game. FFB and immersion are excellent. If you find a good league you are set for good fun. I really wish they add a good weathersystem.
Just moving my clubs over to R3E. Very impressed by it and great £40 deal for all content (even at full price £52 now it’s a good deal). I get the impression the game has only just come of age. It’s really enjoyable and feels intuitive to drive and is the most exciting feeling Sim I’ve played (largely due to the sound).
6:49 High downforce cars don't suffer from slipstream well cornering, but they suffer from so called Dirty Air, which is cause by the car in front and causes the air to be very turbelent and thus the downforce of the car is reduced by high amounts of percentage
I've been playing this game since the earliest days it was released. It's easily one of the best sims on the market. However, they are overdue for a graphics overhaul and an upgrade to, perhaps, the Unreal Engine. But I think the physics and FFB are awesome and the collection of cars and tracks is second to NONE. This is my go-to sim when I'm in the mood to race or just hot lap. I highly recommend it to anyone.
Yeah. I wish in the future they add Supercars and hypercars line up just for fun (as they varied in performance to be Grouped in a Race classification). That would make this game has unlimited lifetime update and might bring them more money. And night race please. Not so into it but it would be fun to have real endurance mode. True dedicated Racing Game without day/night cycle is just feels so weird. The last update they've just release (multiclass race) is nice also.

raceroom feels the best to me as far as the tires model goes. i know its missing some features and cars are expensive but its still great. i love the test drive feature also. sometimes thats all i do is test drive cars i don't own.
its kinda funny, after almost 100 hours in R3R i cant go back to PC2, the game just feels off. Assetto corsa is still fine but damm. did not see that comming
This game worth what it have, it's a free to play, and because of that, is so good, truly for the experience, no many games are free, and a slow number of free games are actually good.
An Excellent & very detailed Review, viperconcept - and well done on the work you did to put this together. So even though I have the Free Base game, I can tell you MY reason for not ever buying it outright. And that is essentially that well established pattern of a games release (ANY game release), being full priced at the start, and dropping as the age of that said game goes on, to eventually maybe even be in the "Bargain Bin" after several years. Yet as an Australian needing to buy R3E's full content in EURO's. In order to get all the content of the game currently, I still need to spend $100 Australian dollars for a 5 year old game...……………………………… sorry, but I ain't gonna do it. ;D
For VR lovers, this game is nuts. PC2 somehow looks pretty bad in VR compared to iR, AC, and R3E. This is a game where I honestly forget I’m not in an F1 car. While I don’t have any paid content, I take full advantage of the test drives and am planning to purchase all content in one go. Fantastic game that really does get overlooked many times
a shame you don t talk about the most important: the online gaming experience (do they organize races? are there a lot of gamers? is there a ranking system, safety rating system etc. ; are players respectful and serious, is there a lot of netcode, etc.). This is one of the aspects that sets iRacing appart.
I can give the reason, I cant get the fill game with $30 as others Sims, because everything, and I mean Everything is sold separately, that scare a lot of people, like myself, Im playing it now, because it came up so many times when cheking for the best sim to get really invested in that I just gave in, after getting 2 cars and 1 track to get a feel, It is hands Down a good game.
DTM series cars, what a sound, what a feeling. I know it lacks a lot of what the others present but it's still my go to sim and I own the rest except iracing because of the expense.
I feel its more simple,casual racers like myself,while not a novice find the entry level of these games intimidating.More0ver I feel my skill level will hinder opponents so I stay clear of pure sims like this n iRacing.Jus my opinions ,respect to those with the skill and means to do so.
By comparison the system requirements are more optimized for Assetto Corsa making Assetto Corsa more playable, yet nonetheless it's on the similar level of optimized gameplay. Except for the fact Assetto Corsa edges by 3-4 steps ahead. Making Assetto Corsa worth the money and stands out overshadowing Raceroom in the PC simracing scene along with mods.
I've always seen that as a "free game made by those who created RaceRoom playseats" so I never really cared about it. But imho i think now we're saturated by simgames... I don't have the time to play at every single title, so I prefere AC where there are always new mods to try

The best way to describe Race Room is that it is a.. RACING Simulator. They are more concerned about making good races between drivers than "Flashy Eye candy" Race Room was their and still is there for me as a new Sim racer with very and I mean VERY little money (Pretty much no money at all) by letting me download the game for free and giving me something to drive when I only have a desk and a T300 RS-GT setup that had a burned up Power supply had I found for very cheap and fixed myself. While I'm saving up for a cheap 750TI GPU to put into my Dell i5-3470 tower I only have a All in one Dell computer from 2009 and though yes it's complete Sh*T I can atleast get 12-20 FPS out of the game which is enough to start practicing Sim racing (And so far I've even managed to break 7-9 track records with placing anywhere from 5th-1st place in time attack's) You can also buy small car and track packs for about $11 USD which is a good pack. Race Room is the reason I got more serious about Sim Racing and put down the Xbox and controller and did everything I could to try and get a decent enough PC and wheel setup to play the game. Now yes Assetto Corsa is great as well no doubt but I can't run that game with my 2009 POS. If it wasn't for R3E I would have nothing at all to race and would have more than likely given up, but instead R3E inspired me to continue to try and slowly better my equipment and now I'm even developing a modified version of the Thrustmaster T300 with better cooling, Ceramic shaft bearings and even working to try and build a plug and play 8-10Nm aftermarket drive motor for better FFB and so far it's working! (It's slightly stronger than a Fanatec Elite wheel base and 2-3 times as strong as the stock 4Nm motor in the T300 Base) Coming from someone who was a student at Road Atlanta in my home town track and was also trained there for most of my life I've done a lot of spec racing and other forms of racing and I can honestly say that Race Room feels very realistic to me and to this day still keeps me wanting more. The game can feel incredible with the right FFB settings which took me about a week to develop but once I did it feels incredible (The Up and down forces are very important in the settings and turn that steering rack down to about 20% trust me guy's ;) If you're serious about Racing and want a really good experience than I'm telling you go with Race Room!! Yes it can be expensive but you don't have to pay the $116 for all the content at once you can buy the packs cars, and tracks by themselves! and they have a lot of discounts especially around holiday's. Trust me my fellow sim racers download the game and be very patient with the settings and pay attention to what the car feels like and what you want it to feel like and their is a way to adjust it to what you want. Note: "Don't let your wheel settings be to high that you get clipping because it really kills the feedback feeling in this particular sim" I'll stick by SimBin "RaceRoom" for as long as I can because like I said they stood by there game and knew that some of us are not very wealthy and have very little money, so they put there game out there for free for us to atleast have a little somethingto get started out with and because of that the have me as a loyal customer. And by the way If any of you Race Room employees read this please send a car or track code to me man. I've been typing these long ass rambling comments doing everything I can to get your name out and help show people that their is another choice out there for a really good sim that isn't a complete rip off like i Racing is. There's a very simple reason behind the unpopularity of RaceRoom. If the game would have been released in its current form in 2013, it would be a higher success, that's for sure. But I remember how simple the game was in 2013-2014. They started to improve it from the end of 2014, and the game had bigger success in 2015. So the first 2 years were pretty poor - but until that, unfortunately, there was an Assetto Corsa, which early-access version was much more better with more functions.
When ever I get fed up with the terrible physics in iRacing, I play R3E instead and take the 1992 BMW for a few laps. The physics, tyre model and FFB is simply on another level. Yet, the playerbase is so small nowadays :( The other two big games are simply not viable for online multiplayer, due to the terrible driving of other players.
U heard him Sector3 so don't play the dead person. The sim is staying for a long while (at lest I can tell coz u release and sell new content content every while) so it's worth investing in its infrastructure and features: 1- Dynamic weather (rain) and track. 2- More tire pressure and HUD info. 3- A pit stop lolly pop man at least. To me if u told me to chose one I say: "rain", but hey what do I know about sims developing, maybe selling 100 new cars content is easier than implementing rain?
Actually thanks to another comment I remembered I wanted to ask about this: Is there a road map for the sim development, same as what rF2 is doing now adays? so the fans can expect what updates r there in 2019 for example?
My biggest problem with the game is the outdated graphics, the lacking features and the pricing system. I don't care about not having road cars because I primarily drive racecars. It is bad that buying the premium doesn't give you access for future content and when they show the prices in the shop that is for one livery only, which is misleading.

R3E is indeed a good sim, regarding tyre temps 2:14 and brakes temperature 7:02 just bind a button to cycle through the internal "Motec" dash (Control Settings/Edit Assignments/Data Display Flip Page) (of course only applies to the cars where the info is available IRL)

Easy, because the game has no relation to console gaming and the developer (as awesome as they are) has fallen into a state of silent communication with their fans.
The so called GTR3 is still nowhere to be seen as it was sceduled for this year, which was way too optimistic obviously.
I like simbin, I mean sector 3, but their well known place in the world of sim racing and motorsport experiences has been torn apart by various other games like assetto corsa, iracing or even project cars.
RaceRoom has rolled on very very VERY slowly with outrageous waiting times between the updates.
Other games who never intended to evolve in the way they are now (looking at you iracing) have overtaken this game by far and people keep in mind:
This game started on steam in 2010 and got a debatable "full release version" in 2013.
Since then the game has evolved more consistent and noticeable, but still people are playing other games, because there is a thing about raceroom what makes people ignore the game.
There is no base game, only a few tracks for testing a very few cars.
All the other tracks and racing series you can possibly buy in this game are pretty expensive and not even final when you look at the additions they make inside of these classes, so you have to buy some extra content over and over again, which is not a good idea.

Yeah, the thing about the newly added GT4 class and the 'now free' FR-J class and Sepang kinda infuriates players who already bought the Premium Pack, they have no choice but to buy the whole pack even though they already paid 100 euros for the Premium Pack...
It's sad that buying the Premium Pack doesn't have the guarantee of having the future updates, but you know to develop it even further the devs needs the fund needed to make them able to work on the things such as updated physics. Hopefully the devs finally able to bring what players most wanted from the game : multi-class racing in single player mode and Endurance racing competitions....
It is still cheaper than iRacing. (I don't say it is a better game though).

Every game is cheaper than IRacing .I Racing , is Beyond ;5k euro For a full package and around lets , say 500 For 3 years subscription,Assetto Corsa is 69€ with all dlc (60% of cintent comes from mods),Project Cars 2 is around 50€, race room with all cars tracks is roughly around the 400€ mark and considering what it has to offer is a fucking joke ...also in race championship you do have always the RAMMERS; so competition is terrible .
For a person who admires mainly driving aspect of simulator, R3E gives me THE BEST feeling through FFB (and AUDIO), in VR it is the closest thing to actually driving a real car, other sims do better in other aspects, but pure driving pleasure is R3E! Sales model is NOT A PROBLEM, just wait for a Black Friday and get everything cheap!
I suggest you try Live for speed. It's very old yet still supported, and, supposedly, has the best tyre model to date.

@@wheelspin6178 advanced and feels best are two separate things though, A LOT of is due FFB, in pcars2 i have to adjust every single car (and every time) for FFB to feel good. In R3E, once i found sweet spot, it works pretty much with all cars.

Personally i find raceroom the best sim out there it has really good physics you can run it on basically anything and it has some free content so you can try it before you but the rest what the game has to offer i have spend anout 150 bucks on all content and i am really happy with it

I have always been a big fan of this underrated sim and since the latest build where they have updated DD FFB support its gone up a whole new level in my opinion. Thanks for taking the time to put this video together and highlighting the features of R3E.
For someone to get more "training" immersion, you can set your "Track Detail Level" on low - so you have no spectators/crowd in Training - it's a good immersion boost.
I tried race room when it first came out and didn't like it. Tried it again about a month ago and wow its probably the best rece SIM out there In my opinion! The car handling is just amazing. You can really feel what the car is doing and really feel the difference in the cars handling when you change the car setup. This SIM really dose deserve more love than it gets!!

also graphics look absolutely fine and it looks very clean with almost no anti-aliasing problems. But the future plan is to move from DX9 to something new. maybe UE4 or DX11.. it's investigated by the developers for quite some time now.
Also you have to keep in mind that Sector3 is just the developer and develops Raceroom for the "Raceroom Entertainment AG", which is connected to KW automotive (KW Suspensions). Klaus Wohlfarth (CEO and founder of KW Suspension) is highly involved in Raceroom AG.
The "Raceroom Entertainment AG" builds and provides simulators for public events and racing cafés (like the one at the Nürburgring) all over the world.
The main task of Sector3 Studios is to develop content and features that Raceroom AG dictates them and what they want in their racing cafés... that we can play Raceroom at home is more or less a byproduct of this business. The main revenue is made of these racing cafés and events and I can imagine that it's also somehow cross-financed.
That's the main reason that some features got "dumbed down" or some other highly wanted features are still not in the game. What "Raceroom AG" demands has the higher priority, that's also the reason why the multiclass option/AI Selector (that's now finally included since december patch) took so long to find it's way into the sim.
2:15 lies, you don't need any mod or app to see tyre temps. Bind a button to see it. You can see tyre temps, brake temp, etc...all info is in the dashboard of the car and it varies from car to car.

-and they do 8-10 patch each year updating, changing or polishing tons of things.
-everything is very good, the audio is one of the best in the GAME industries, not only sim.
-it is the only game whit a good cut rule system. if you cut it understand if it is an error or something giving you an advantage. only in the second case it gives you a penalty proportionate to the advantage
-the server side is the one with the less options from a legue manager point of view. which is probably the main cause of the less popularity.
-but it has a great and the best live mode for streaming with commentary

yeah, let's evaluate a game for features it's not aimed at. it's a racing sim and it's about NOT crashing. if you want a good crash simulator you get BeamNG-drive
Audio is sublime. Not only engines, exhausts crackling, tyres squaking... Kerbs, surfaces, and specially in-car noises when severe movement (holes, bumps, weigth transfer, and so on...) effects are top notch. This sets R3E miles away from all the competitors. This game comes with many common "top" tracks, but also comes with plenty of unknown and interesting tracks from Europe mainly.

As a 'devoted' RaceRoom player, I do agree with what you've experienced in the game.
The suspension model is the high plus for this game, especially when you're running on the Hillclimb course (although I couldn't really feel it since I used a controller, so I need to 'feel' it with my own eyes XD), and another thing you kinda forgot to explain was the sound of the cars, it's just pure eargasm to hear those authentic engine sounds...
Yeah, talking about tire punctures, it is not present unfortunately.
The lack of tire compound selections for certain classes (well, GT racing series usually only had one tire compound, which yeah we couldn't really debate about it) kinda takes away the strategies that we could use on the race.
Also, it has been requested by so many players to the developers that they should include the multi-class racing in single player mode, but as far as I'm concerned, the devs haven't work anything for it yet....
About the 'there are only race cars' thing, yeah since they focused on MP and online competitions, they really only focused on getting the license of official racing series like WTCR and DTM. The closest you can get to real normal road cars are German Nationals class, which only include two modified Mercedes from Carlsson, and from what my friends in the community told me, they are so bad in terms of physics, the dev basically don't really care about them since no one really plays them in MP lobbies...
The rumor has it that since now the leaderboards shows the rank of the players, there has been a talk of making an official racing competition based on their ranks in the future. Also there has been a hint dropped by the devs from the last update notes that they will include official endurance racing competitions as well, again based on the players' ranks (you know, probably they will include something like Pro-Am racing like in real GT series, with A-B ranks as 'Pro' and C-D and unclassified as 'Am'). But yeah at least to make that happen they need to rework the game to include dynamic time change, temperatures, shadows effects, etc. Fingers crossed that if iRacing as an old game can make it real, why not RaceRoom...? :)
Speaking of which, I want to know your opinion about the latest iRacing's dynamic time and weather physics system. Do you like it, like many other players who highly praised this major update....?

It doesn't have features such as tires' pressure, wiper and light button assignments? Strange, because in the earlier game (Race Injection) they exist. And Race Injection also has mouse for steering control and keyboard sensitivity level, which I found it a pleasant treatment for those who can't afford steering wheels.
Is is one of the few games that offer FFB for gamepads tho. Which is why I played it alot before i got a wheel.
It's not so strange if you know the history of Raceroom. It was originally intended to be used internally only for KW Suspension in their racing booths at real races, and for that reasons, quite a few features that were in the game were basically thrown out. Later they decided to release the game as a regular sim, but putting those missing features back was no longer trivial due to the changes that have been made to the game since. But in regard to tyre pressures, they are still in the game and they do work in terms of affecting car handling, it's just that they are not user adjustable and are always set to ideal.

@@haryosoo More accurately, you see their logo everywhere in the game because KW Suspension owns the whole Raceroom brand (which goes beyond the game and also includes home rigs, for example) and is responsible for all the business decisions related to it, Sector 3 are just the guys that develop the game for them.
What the hell... Play an Sim with Keyboard or Controller? Nothing more to say ..
Hint: If you want more info about your tires etc then change the dash. The dash on board the GT3 cars for example has multiple screens with different information. ACC also has this feature. I have a key mapped on my wheel so I can switch between screens.
As far as driving satisfaction - just enjoying the simple act of the driving the cars hard - R3E takes the cake for me.
Well done! I play Raceroom now for several years and everything in this video is true. I'd like to add one aspect: The fantastic car sounds (best compared to every other sim I know).
No need app or mod to see tyres temp. You just need assign button to "data display flip page". Also assign button to "toggle speed cluster". With "toggle speed cluster" you can change HUD. It's need for some cars who don't have display in cockpit because with another HUD you can use "data display flip page" in all cars.

1. Top sounds effects, currently no one can beat RRRE!!!! Recorded from an electric Tesla car to exclude background noises and each car has its own specific audio file. In size from Mono to 8.1!!!! Not 7... but 8! Tell me another racing game supporting 8.1 surround...
2. Top feeling of speed, challenging AI, and more than decent graphics for a driving game.
3. One of the best FFB i ever felt and a credible physical engine.
The sum of these three factors make it engaging and exciting as a few.
So to conclude a must have for a simracing fan.
I would however like to add that the real strength of RRRE lies in the DTM, WTCC and WTCR classes, for those who are follower of these tourism championships is the best. With all the drivers, the teams and the official liveries. This in the review is not shown properly. As it is not emphasized attention on the care directed to the sound effects of the car... engine, transmission, exhaust, tires, you feel them all under your butt. Like you're in the car.
Why is it less successful than the others? One reason may be the high overall cost and the payment method conceived compared to others such as Project Cars 2 or Assetto Corsa. And the fact that the console version does not exist. ... fortunately? :)
The advertising that can afford Bandai/Namco or 505games are not for the finances of the SimBin crew.
The only flaw? No weather, no day/night cicle and...The prices of the store... around 2-4eur for 1 car, 0.30eurocent for 1 livery (there are many), 5-7euro for 1 track... 100 Euro for the complete package (120+ cars 35+tracks) the minimum expenditure... Or you can personalize it according to your car tastes saving something... but the real convenience is found in the complete package. All cars… All tracks… No remorse. Basically you spend more buying 2 years in a row the next call of duty…. sry for my google english translator.
This was my first racing game, and im a big DTM fan and love the fact that the featured them am in r3e, the sound is orgasmic.
Raceroom has always been my favourite sim, simply because of how good it sounds. I think you can actually get a puncture if you roll over some debris or something. I always experience this when running over broken front wings of the FR 17. It did surprise me, however, that you didn't mention its stunning audio.
With the addition of tyre pressure the game is moving along great. Looking forward to the new damage model that’s being implemented here soon.
I bought it yesterday mainly for tcr and dtm. Tried rfactor2 for a week and it felt amazing but it's so unpolished, the menu is straight from gtr2 and so hard to setup. Now I can't decide what to play between ac and rre, so tire pressure is coming soon?
In your opinion, talking about physic, gravity is good... well... i flipped a lot of cars touching kerbs with the right weight transfer... gravity in that sense is trash in my opinion. talking about brake temperatures... using the app and monitoring them, i managed to see a difference between cold and hot brakes, with the same car in the same session, braking at the same exact place, when i had cold brakes the car wouldn’t brake and lock the tyres, but when they were hot i had to lift the brake pedal for not locking the tyres. btw awesome video as always❤️
I downloaded it on Tuesday and got it to where I could test out a couple cars. Will need to set up my steering wheel, along with the rest of the game. Have been on iRacing for 8 years and I love the sounds, along with the feel of the suspension in Raceroom. In the Lotus 79, iRacing doesn't have the sound of the car, but, I would guess it is hard to duplicate the actual sound of a car that Historic.
It looks great IMO. Not everyone wants to mod and tweak every little thing. There are enough games like that. Some of us like a simple game. I think they did good.
As an owner of all R3E content i will say Its the best Simulation for me... And it doesnt need the popularity of an PCars or similar title - Its good in this therms it does... And the Sound 🤗🤗🤗🤗... There is no other Sim that produces this Sound and the very good laserscanner Tracks, expect iRacing.
Please, in the future, review Automobilista, it's a very famous sim here in brazil, even some Drivers from Stock-Car use it as training, i've heard that Rubens Barrichelo play it time to time (he's gone to Stock Car after his F1 carreer)

This is a great game. FFB and immersion are excellent. If you find a good league you are set for good fun. I really wish they add a good weathersystem.
It does get the love it deserves, Jardier has a big fanbase and streams it often
Just moving my clubs over to R3E. Very impressed by it and great £40 deal for all content (even at full price £52 now it’s a good deal). I get the impression the game has only just come of age. It’s really enjoyable and feels intuitive to drive and is the most exciting feeling Sim I’ve played (largely due to the sound).
This is my go to racing game. Great in VR too. Wish more people were into it
Sound is pretty much the best as people have noted. It also has pretty decent AI for offline racing compared to other games.
6:49 High downforce cars don't suffer from slipstream well cornering, but they suffer from so called Dirty Air, which is cause by the car in front and causes the air to be very turbelent and thus the downforce of the car is reduced by high amounts of percentage
I've been playing this game since the earliest days it was released. It's easily one of the best sims on the market. However, they are overdue for a graphics overhaul and an upgrade to, perhaps, the Unreal Engine. But I think the physics and FFB are awesome and the collection of cars and tracks is second to NONE. This is my go-to sim when I'm in the mood to race or just hot lap. I highly recommend it to anyone.

Yeah. I wish in the future they add Supercars and hypercars line up just for fun (as they varied in performance to be Grouped in a Race classification). That would make this game has unlimited lifetime update and might bring them more money. And night race please. Not so into it but it would be fun to have real endurance mode. True dedicated Racing Game without day/night cycle is just feels so weird. The last update they've just release (multiclass race) is nice also.

raceroom feels the best to me as far as the tires model goes. i know its missing some features and cars are expensive but its still great. i love the test drive feature also. sometimes thats all i do is test drive cars i don't own.

This game worth what it have, it's a free to play, and because of that, is so good, truly for the experience, no many games are free, and a slow number of free games are actually good.
An Excellent & very detailed Review, viperconcept - and well done on the work you did to put this together. So even though I have the Free Base game, I can tell you MY reason for not ever buying it outright. And that is essentially that well established pattern of a games release (ANY game release), being full priced at the start, and dropping as the age of that said game goes on, to eventually maybe even be in the "Bargain Bin" after several years. Yet as an Australian needing to buy R3E's full content in EURO's. In order to get all the content of the game currently, I still need to spend $100 Australian dollars for a 5 year old game...……………………………… sorry, but I ain't gonna do it. ;D
For VR lovers, this game is nuts. PC2 somehow looks pretty bad in VR compared to iR, AC, and R3E. This is a game where I honestly forget I’m not in an F1 car. While I don’t have any paid content, I take full advantage of the test drives and am planning to purchase all content in one go. Fantastic game that really does get overlooked many times
R3E sits on the "Audio Throne" with rest of the sims beneath it's feet.

For some reason on RaceRoom, my FFB is really unresponsive on my T300RS and I can't catch slides like I could in Assetto Corsa.

a shame you don t talk about the most important: the online gaming experience (do they organize races? are there a lot of gamers? is there a ranking system, safety rating system etc. ; are players respectful and serious, is there a lot of netcode, etc.). This is one of the aspects that sets iRacing appart.
I can give the reason, I cant get the fill game with $30 as others Sims, because everything, and I mean Everything is sold separately, that scare a lot of people, like myself, Im playing it now, because it came up so many times when cheking for the best sim to get really invested in that I just gave in, after getting 2 cars and 1 track to get a feel, It is hands Down a good game.

DTM series cars, what a sound, what a feeling. I know it lacks a lot of what the others present but it's still my go to sim and I own the rest except iracing because of the expense.
I feel its more simple,casual racers like myself,while not a novice find the entry level of these games intimidating.More0ver I feel my skill level will hinder opponents so I stay clear of pure sims like this n iRacing.Jus my opinions ,respect to those with the skill and means to do so.

By comparison the system requirements are more optimized for Assetto Corsa making Assetto Corsa more playable, yet nonetheless it's on the similar level of optimized gameplay. Except for the fact Assetto Corsa edges by 3-4 steps ahead.
Making Assetto Corsa worth the money and stands out overshadowing Raceroom in the PC simracing scene along with mods.

I've always seen that as a "free game made by those who created RaceRoom playseats" so I never really cared about it. But imho i think now we're saturated by simgames... I don't have the time to play at every single title, so I prefere AC where there are always new mods to try

DFGT is a very accurate wheel. Fairly weak and kinda slow, but very accurate.
Now, raceroom has ~5? running servers? I'm new into RR and i can play at most at ~3 servers....
I just discovered (again and deeper) Shift 2 unleashed, what do you think? I think that is the last of NFS series that could be saved.

The best way to describe Race Room is that it is a.. RACING Simulator.
They are more concerned about making good races between drivers than "Flashy Eye candy"
Race Room was their and still is there for me as a new Sim racer with very and I mean VERY little money (Pretty much no money at all) by letting me download the game for free and giving me something to drive when I only have a desk and a T300 RS-GT setup that had a burned up Power supply had I found for very cheap and fixed myself. While I'm saving up for a cheap 750TI GPU to put into my Dell i5-3470 tower I only have a All in one Dell computer from 2009 and though yes it's complete Sh*T I can atleast get 12-20 FPS out of the game which is enough to start practicing Sim racing (And so far I've even managed to break 7-9 track records with placing anywhere from 5th-1st place in time attack's) You can also buy small car and track packs for about $11 USD which is a good pack. Race Room is the reason I got more serious about Sim Racing and put down the Xbox and controller and did everything I could to try and get a decent enough PC and wheel setup to play the game. Now yes Assetto Corsa is great as well no doubt but I can't run that game with my 2009 POS. If it wasn't for R3E I would have nothing at all to race and would have more than likely given up, but instead R3E inspired me to continue to try and slowly better my equipment and now I'm even developing a modified version of the Thrustmaster T300 with better cooling, Ceramic shaft bearings and even working to try and build a plug and play 8-10Nm aftermarket drive motor for better FFB and so far it's working! (It's slightly stronger than a Fanatec Elite wheel base and 2-3 times as strong as the stock 4Nm motor in the T300 Base)
Coming from someone who was a student at Road Atlanta in my home town track and was also trained there for most of my life I've done a lot of spec racing and other forms of racing and I can honestly say that Race Room feels very realistic to me and to this day still keeps me wanting more. The game can feel incredible with the right FFB settings which took me about a week to develop but once I did it feels incredible (The Up and down forces are very important in the settings and turn that steering rack down to about 20% trust me guy's ;)
If you're serious about Racing and want a really good experience than I'm telling you go with Race Room!!
Yes it can be expensive but you don't have to pay the $116 for all the content at once you can buy the packs cars, and tracks by themselves! and they have a lot of discounts especially around holiday's. Trust me my fellow sim racers download the game and be very patient with the settings and pay attention to what the car feels like and what you want it to feel like and their is a way to adjust it to what you want. Note: "Don't let your wheel settings be to high that you get clipping because it really kills the feedback feeling in this particular sim"
I'll stick by SimBin "RaceRoom" for as long as I can because like I said they stood by there game and knew that some of us are not very wealthy and have very little money, so they put there game out there for free for us to atleast have a little somethingto get started out with and because of that the have me as a loyal customer.
And by the way If any of you Race Room employees read this please send a car or track code to me man. I've been typing these long ass rambling comments doing everything I can to get your name out and help show people that their is another choice out there for a really good sim that isn't a complete rip off like i Racing is. There's a very simple reason behind the unpopularity of RaceRoom. If the game would have been released in its current form in 2013, it would be a higher success, that's for sure. But I remember how simple the game was in 2013-2014. They started to improve it from the end of 2014, and the game had bigger success in 2015. So the first 2 years were pretty poor - but until that, unfortunately, there was an Assetto Corsa, which early-access version was much more better with more functions.
When ever I get fed up with the terrible physics in iRacing, I play R3E instead and take the 1992 BMW for a few laps. The physics, tyre model and FFB is simply on another level. Yet, the playerbase is so small nowadays :(
The other two big games are simply not viable for online multiplayer, due to the terrible driving of other players.
If this game was not so expensive, I would give it a try.
$65 for all current content is not expensive.

The sim is staying for a long while (at lest I can tell coz u release and sell new content content every while) so it's worth investing in its infrastructure and features:
1- Dynamic weather (rain) and track.
2- More tire pressure and HUD info.
3- A pit stop lolly pop man at least.
To me if u told me to chose one I say: "rain", but hey what do I know about sims developing, maybe selling 100 new cars content is easier than implementing rain?
Actually thanks to another comment I remembered I wanted to ask about this: Is there a road map for the sim development, same as what rF2 is doing now adays? so the fans can expect what updates r there in 2019 for example?

My biggest problem with the game is the outdated graphics, the lacking features and the pricing system. I don't care about not having road cars because I primarily drive racecars. It is bad that buying the premium doesn't give you access for future content and when they show the prices in the shop that is for one livery only, which is misleading.
I Love this game
