What a beautiful time capsule of the way our world use to be and the way television use to be made. It would have been broadcast, just not in this format. Colin was brilliant.

Yea. i just noticed that. Crazy . He is like my former plastic Surgeon who was bald and wore a wig that was like a flat cap. You laughed from 60 metres when you spotted him walking in the street.
The turn was shite. I only watched the whole show because of the spectacular hairstyles. The drummer in the band looks like a fucked Cliff Thorburn though.

As with all things telly, its all fake. Bernard was in the day before filming all his bits, this would have been shot later and it was chopped and made in to several shows.
It was aired. Just not like this. They would get one act in, film all their bits one day. Then they would get another act in and film all their bits in one go and so on. They would all get chopped up in to segments and put together for a single show. Bernard will have done all his lines on a different day. Its Telly. Its all lies.
Heh. The days when bloody Granada could do no wrong and would get ideas networked even when it was dreck like this. As far as I was concerned, if it was a LE programme and the wheelchair logo silently faded into view, I'd switch over to the BBC.
They did know. The brave ones like Bernard Manning outed them in their acts. That is why Ester Rantzen, Saville’s friend, tried to crucify Bernard on the Parkinson show… and lost. He humiliated her. And Rantzen ran Childline. Think about that for a minute.
I was 23 in 1975 and what an amazing time to be young . I remember it so well.
An excellent insight into the gubbings of the show, thanks for posting, really enjoyed it.

Fun fact: Terry Webster was the "brains" behind Jive Bunny.
That’s utter bollocks. Jive Bunny was a DJ from Doncaster called Les Hemstock. Unless Terry Webster is a stage name?
