Top Mount Intercooler, 79 Series Bonnet Scoop & More! - HJ75 Troopy Build (EP19)

- In this massive episode we are fabricating mounts for a top mount intercooler, cutting a massive hole in the bonnet for clearance and moulding a custom 79 series bonnet scoop onto our original 75 series bonnet.
We took the big girl to Niche Welding to take care of the pipe work fabrication between the Patrol Docta airbox and the Aeroflow intercooler.
We also installed a brand new barn door canvas bag product from Outback Gear Solutions.

Looks great! What kind of decrease in EGT's have you seen since adding the intercooler and scoop?
Love it! But I’m a little bias.... I love my fibreglass scoop on my 75. Makes it super different.
But I am missing the scoop fins. About to put a mesh in to help make it more solid.
What do you do for a living? you seem to have considerable knowledge about, cars, fabricating, paint, electrics ect.
Hailing from Busselton, I'm restoring my 92 Troopie and just about to cut the hole in the bonnet. Been great to watch your series and gotten heaps of tips. The Fibreglass factory now manufacture a scoop specifically for the HJ75. Your channel is awesome, when you're next in Busso, drop in and have a look

JUst so beautiful and has quality work, but the engine is it actually a 1HZ, cause, I have a 2007 4.2 diesel single cab (HJZ R) pick up and the engine appears to look very different

Your rig is coming together nicely. Better than nicely! F'n beautiful! and the intake plumbing does indeed speak for itself. Can't see from footage, but I guess there is support bracketry for pipe running from a/f to turbo? If there is, amazing job. If there isn't, still an amazing job, but needs bracket. Clearly u know what vibration can do from your cooler bracket design (rubber mountings etc). 👍

your work is always awesome and precise, but just quickly do you think you need to do a guide coat when painting it in raptor coating or is it forgiving enough? cheers

How come you fibreglassed the scoop down and blended it if your gonna raptor line the bonnet anyway? Why not just glue and bog?
