    As a fellow Explorer let me point something out at 5:40-5:45(I paused it to write this) There are men suit jackets hanging up, there are two different calendars 10yrs apart. Everywhere those coats are hung would be where a 50's husband would place his coats after work/church. Her husband died in the 80's....she passed away 10yrs later. Some older folks aren't horders until it's the loss of their children and/or partner, it wrecks them and they just give up and just exist through the rest of their lives. (Also a caregiver...so, I know!)
    Free information, you know the address...go to that counties website, plug it in.
    Cross on the Bed...it's a Catholic church practice. They place a cross on the bed they died in.

    • @TheDevilishDesires
      @TheDevilishDesires 5 лет назад +23

      Also back then it was more a regular thing the back part of the house would be a 'in-law' apartment. Makes sense for the two kitchens, but her's is clearly more recently lived in. Pure observation of course, perhaps this was his parents home? It doesn't seem that her 'clutter' goes to the separate domain area. Whereas a true hoarder has everything everywhere. I'm dying to have an update on the owners info. Was he a Vet, how can we ensure his sacrafice can be furthermore honoured? As a person who loves stories and history....seriously, leave it lay where it lays, document, respect....but without documenting who these people truly were, are we doing their history...our cultures history a disservice? I dunno....it's why I'm asking?

      as somebody who's had multiple family members pass away where we decided to keep the property exactly as is with little maintenance I can tell you that that house has been actively maintained there's no way it's just been sitting there for 20 years even the roof looks newer than 20 years. everything about this house screams that somebody comes here once a year does the needed maintenance.

If it's that u just don't believe in the paranormal that's OK, bc u won't believe if you've never had any first hand paranormal experiences or you have been to any actual haunted locations. When you went to the grocery store they would give you a certain amount of green stamps depending on how much you spent, then you'd put the stamps in those books. Then when you'd have a whole bunch of books filled you would go to the green stamp store and pick out what you wanted . So say you wanted the T.V. and the T.V. was 300 books , you would save up until you got that many books and get the T.V.

    Amazing house you found, and as you said, not ruined by others. One correction if you don't mind... @ 4.07, the electrolux isn't a space heater, that's an old style vacuum. My grandmother had one. No wheels, you slid it on the carpet. The hose went in one end, the air blew out the slotted end. Keep up the great work! I found an old abandoned southern mansion in the late 70s when I was a teen. Not much damage to it. Filled with old clothes from the 20s-to the 60s. Even had an old grand piano. Wish I had taken pictures of it.

    What I find odd is (and I am sure there are reasons for this. I just don't know what the reason is) A house like this sits for a long time the way it has. But if I lapse on my property tax I am kicked out and I think the city sells it to someone else. I wonder if someone is maintaining the property taxes here.

She had several books filled and would redeem them for free household items like pots and pans etc.That was in the 50’s 60’s and 70’s.Might still have one of those books around with stamps in it.Found memories 💕we had just immigrated from Europe to America I was a young child.👍🏼😊

    Something nice about these kind of videos you make is you make it out so these people were forgotten after death by their family and friends, but you filming their homes and trying to solve out who lived there preserves them forever for history to come and I think it is very good of you doing that Josh.

    S&H green stamps were active in grocery stores until the mid 1970's. We could save up books and cash them in for neat household items. I was able to get a hamper, a bathroom scale... many things. The Electrolux was the premier vacuum cleaner of the 50's. It bugs me that the cars are sitting there to rot away. Great find, kids!
