    I think the quick ratcheting feature on the mini Zyklop is just a thumb wheel. My VIM bit ratchet has one too, i think they're a pretty standard bit ratchet feature. It's weird because the ratchet engages in the same direction as the bit rotation, but once i figured that out it's been pretty handy in places where I can't get a good swing on the ratchet.
    There was some video by an aircraft mechanic I saw where he mentioned he preferred the design where the center of the thunb wheel is recessed (like on the Zyklop), though i don't remember exactly why.

    I have the Wera 813 and mini zyklop both are very impressive tools, Wera does a great job on the finish of their tools and they all look stunning. The 813 is a great size and can be placed almost anywhere and similar attributes can be applied to the zyklop with both proving their reliability and handiness in use. The kit you have shown in this video is actually one that I have wanted for awhile now. That chain tool looks like such a well made object as well. I think this kit could be improved if you threw in some L-keys to correspond with the hardware of your bicycle. Great video too.

      @@htr5372 I make sure all of the Wera tools I buy now (I know the mini zyklop is made in asia but I wasn’t as stuborn about manufacturing locations when I bought it) are specifically make in Czechoslovakia. The only tools I buy from Wera are screwdrivers, bit drivers, and bits, which all of the ones made by Wera are made in their Czech factory if I am correct. I know that Wera’s sockets are made in Taiwan (amongst other tools) however I have never read anywhere that their tools are produced in china. For other tools such as sockets I will tolerate the higher cost to buy them from companies like Hazet so I know my tool boxes are free of communism. And I agree that PB Swiss L-keys are superior to all others they really make a good tool.

      @@htr5372 I don’t watch project farm but those tools are the best in their category for me, I first discovered them as my father (who installs automated storage systems for warehouses and distribution centers) told me that these were the best L-keys he had ever handled. Ever since I bout a set they have proved to be truly exceptional tools that have lasted even through hard use. And I’m not a PB Swiss fan boy either as these are the only tools I have bought from them, they just make a great tool. I don’t decide my tool choices from a single RUclips video anyway.

      Well... If you're interested in my 2 cents on this topic:
      Every tool has its purpose. And a stubby handle can indeed deliver more torque, but is also more bulky. So in this case, I'd rather have a 813 with me than nothing. A t-handle would be nice. That would fit in this bag and still deliver more torque. So, I quite like this mix of tools that come in a form factor that isn't bothersome to have around. Anything is better to have with you than nothing.
      I'm neither a fan of PB Swiss. The electricians screwdrivers feel like using a gummy worm. And the acetate handles are pretty, but I dislike their vanilla smell and ergonomics. But I still want to try out their hex key set with knurled handles.
      Regards,
      Etna.

    I really like the Wera-Tools and especially the chain tool. There bicycle-sets often miss something. I think that ball-ended hex bits would extend the use (probably only in size 4 and 5). A JIS-Bit instead of the PH-Bit would be much more special for bicycles. The chain hook is ok, but you can bend one out of an old spoke pretty easy. And the sleeve for the ID-card is not so useful to me. The pouch is nice.
    For a tool purely used on bicycle-tours, a multitool seems the better choice to me. As a bicycle-repair-kit, it's missing some tools. So while I kind of like it, I'm pretty sure I wouldn't buy it.

    • @Etna.
      @Etna.  Год назад

      Thanks! This is some really nice and useful feedback. I see this pouch also as a starter kit for your own bike set. I use the sleeve for patches now and will change a lot of the bits. I'm also missing some tools. I might do an update video on my personal pouch.
      I have some special temper proof nuts to prevent tyre thiefs, i.e. And I think Victorinox has a really nice compact L-key bit holder that is compact enough for that pouch. The Wera T-handles are a bit too big I think. Something like that.

      @@Etna. in the search of the perfect pocket tool kit, yes. the only way i can get this set is to buy the entire bicycle set 3A just for the pouch and chain tool which is not offered by itself or in any other smaller kit. its intentional and frustrating to say the least.
