Great video, do you have any tips on timing the hips and arms in the golf swing?

Thanks Zach, and also notice his chin at left arm parallel back, so many of the great long drivers release the chin to get max turn.

Yes Ala Jack Nicklaus and Tiger. A great move for driver.

I have read “quick-slow-quick” relative to transition/lag/head speed. This video captures the end game; light grip pressure also allows hand guidance w/o choking the arms out of velocity!

Presumably, to get the maximum benefit, the shock loading should occur when torso is still in the backswing, and the club is still moving towards the target, so the momentum of the centre of mass causes the maximum acute angle?

I wouldn’t focus too much on the most acute angle, that will cause your wrist to radially deviate too much. Focus on the flow occurring during the change of direction. Both with the body and the club.

Some of my golf buddies have socks like those!

Does higher grip and forearm strength improve one's ability to execute this move?

Yes would be beneficial, but a lot of it just has to do with technique and sequencing.

Look at the hip action against the bin in the background ; this is where the power comes from

Hips peak speed is about 3-4 mph.

I've heard this called a "Wide-Narrow-Wide" swing. Full width on the backswing, then narrowing to gain lag during the downswing, then wide again on the follow thru. Is this what you're demonstrating?

I absolutely love playing like this when it's working for me. When things are going less well, it can be hard to trust that free-whipping sensation. Not criticism- just an observation.

It does take some practice and some trust. Once learned though I love it because the downswing becomes an automatic action, that you cannot control or hinder.

You guys just kill me with your inability to teach how to snap load, float load, lag load whatever you want to call it. All of you fail to just say - " Increase the lead wrist angle on the way down" Practice doing this simple thing. Obviously not simple for 99% but this is what you have to do. Increase the lead wrist and the trail wrist angle (load) on the way down from P4 (Top of swing) to P4.5 and P5. Slam loading is actually try to slam the shaft coming down into you Deltoid. Literally SLAM it into your shoulder (deltoid muscle) try to do these drills of slamming shaft into the upper arm (deltoid) when you can do this over and over and over like a thousand times you will finally get what float loading or slam loading or lag actually is and it will become more natural and you will finally understand it and be able to do it. But it will take many reps - you can literally practice with no club in the shower - like a dance move of coming down with arms and hinging wrist coming down. Do this day all the time over and over and after about 10K times - it will actually start to feel natural and simple but it is hard to do at first just keep doing it an you will hit it better and with more speed. This video is for real but lacking. Snaping mean virtually nothing to the masses.
