    Hi Joe,
    Grate work. I've watched 5 maybe 6 of your tutorials in a raw and have to say, you go in to a LOT OF DETAIL when explaining a topic... Fantastic!!
    Wish there was more tutorials like this when I started exploring 3D printing.
    Only one thing I think you should change. STOP apologising so much!!!!!
    You are helping a lot of noobs, giving them a chance to have a very pleasant experience from a start of they FDM journey.
    Keep up the good work.

    What a great and informative video Joe! Thank you for putting together this video :) I am just dipping my toes into the world of 3D printing and like i do with everything, i research. I am in the process of researching what low cost/good printer to get ( either kit or assembled ) that will allow me to grow for awhile in the world of 3D Printing.
    Happy New Year to you and I look forward to learning more from you in the near future.

    Filament, you could also try Inland brand that is sold locally at Microcenter. Have you tried it?

    Great video. Any plans to do some type of follow up to this? Such as going through our first print? picking something off thingiverse, slicing then printing? Or maybe a few ideas on what the first few things we should print to fine tune our settings?

      Joe Mike Terranella. wonderful I think fine tuning would be really helpful to the community.

    I'm pretty handy with a screw driver, but I don't want to get too frustrated before I even get started. If there are 100 pieces to put together, then no. If it's like 25 pieces, then yes.

    Hi Joe, Thanks for the video, you explained so much to me! Can you advise me on what inexpensive printer, software, and set-up you would recommend for me...I want to print cookie cutters, nothing else. They will be made from my hand drawings and they will only be outlines; I don't plan on doing any embossing type inserts at this point. They will be range from 2" - 7" cookie cutters and under 1" thick and probably be from PLA to be food safe. I would like them to be a little bit sturdier than some I have seen on the market, so I am guessing that would come from the grade of the PLA material I use? Any help you can give me is much appreciated. Most videos and such go into way more detail than what I am looking to do. I just need simple.... Thanks, Robin

      I'm not sure what is really feasible. I see some for under $200.00 and some for $1000.00 and up. I would like to stay as inexpensive as possible, say under $500.00??? I'm not sure what I really need for as little as I want to do.

    I am trying to decide what would be a good first printer. Any experience with makerfarm pegasus or Prussa I3 mk2? both seem to have great support in the community and I haven't heard anything bad about either.

    If I use painters tape on the bed, can I still heat the bed or will something go wrong?

    • @rukd8746
      @rukd8746 7 лет назад

      So maybe around 50c for the bed or around 40-50

    • @JohnMcNerney
      @JohnMcNerney 7 лет назад

      Depends on the type of filament you are printing with. I use 60˚C for PLA, though some people use 50˚ or even print on an unheated bed. (For ABS or HIPS I use 110˚C.)

    You skipped TPU can you do something on that?

      Very Cool! Looking forward to it!
      The MonoPrice Mini runs the TPU well but some set up required todo so!

      I figured out the spacer and printed a few simple objects slower speed and slower retractions with shorter distance. Still trying to figure what hot ends to keep on hand for better prints.
      Super nice chatting man!

    Tried to watch this but kept being distracted by the music bed. If conveying information is the objective, why distract viewers with background sounds? I don't get it. What's the point of playing music viewers will obviously try to listen to and attempt to deliver information to them simultaneously? Makes no sense to me.

      It’s relative to the viewer. I imagine a lot will be able to ‘tune out’ the music, while others cannot. Can’t make everyone happy and I’m not going to try.
