Ive recently traded my ninja for an 08 fz1, its has full hpcorse exhaust and headers, ivans ecu flash and some other minor things done to the bike and its one of the fastest bikes ive owned. Its like two bikes in one, great for long trips with more power then your 600 supersport bikes.
I have one of these and these are the mods that I have that make this bike really awesome. 1. Ecu flash 2. decat pipe and after market exhaust without db killer 3 . 16 tooth front sprocket . 4. comfy seats , 5. road low 754 bars and full length braided lines . And fz1n headlight conversion . To be honest there's not much out there that compare to this even in 2022 so anyone that's looking for naked sports tourer style that goes like a scalded cat this is for you , none of the new bikes with all the electronics can touch the sides on these 👍🏼👊🏼😎
Have to agree on everything here. I bought mine with a full exhaust, Ivan’s tune on ecu, and +3 in the rear (the same as the -1 front you’re recommending). What an amazing setup!
Nice, it's a great bike. I only had mine for 4k miles. I do all my own maintenance so it's similar to other bikes, has long I think 32k mile intervals for valve adjustments which is nice.

How tall are you? My last bike was a 300. I've ridden bigger bike but I'm low key nervous about the size. I'm 5.7
I'm 5'11, it might feel a bit tall at first but you would get comfortable with the size and weight over time.

Chassis is not the same i can tell you that for sure..
The engine isn't the "same" either but both are heavily based off the chassis & engine from the R1
i go 160 miles to reserve on mine unless i am riding like an idiot
so always , 😁
