Doctor Who: The First Question - 50th Anniversary Trailer (HD)

  • Watch in HD, Please Read:
In January, i began work on my own 'love-letter' to Doctor Who, here is the end result: 'The First Question'. The video became very popular on my original channel and had to be removed due to apparent copyright infringement. Due to request, this original version has been re-uploaded on this new account. The video is also present on a number of other channels as well. To those of you who haven't seen 'The First Question', i focused on compiling a montage that balanced every Doctor in the best possible way, some appear more than others, this was due to resources not personal preference. As always, i hope you all enjoy!
Doctor Who is owned by the BBC
    Music:
    'Starvation' - Thomas Bergersen
'Battle for New York' - Brian Tyler

I watched this video a few weeks after it was uploaded when I was 13. I'm now 19. This is bizarre but this video has stuck with me since then and is still the best fan-made trailer for Doctor Who ever.

This trailer just made me see the Doctor in a new way. It is not 2nd 3rd 4th 5th 6th 7th 8th 9th 10th 11th 12th nor war through those eyes of his, its William Heartnell, still here but his emotions, looks, voice are rewritten every time he regenerates.
    Willam Heartnell IS the Doctor.

that bit at 1:00 where the doctor says, "it's the TARDIS! it's my home!" and matt is twirling around and the way he does it is somehow affectionate and magical and then it pans out on rose and shows how massive and majestic the tardis is, plus the epic music, is just incredible. gives one such feels :)

  • @Vhosis333

I legit started crying when I re-watched this a week ago. We could have had it all, but the ACTUAL 50th was so bad. I tend to avoid thoughts like " should follow tradition and remain pure hurhurhur" (after all, I began watching Doctor Who with Nine), but I was so disappointed by Day of the Doctor :'( I feel your trailer embodies the feeling of excitement every new fan has, so thank you.

It's known that extra regenerations can be given, as River gave the Doctor hers and the Timelords gave the master an extra set. So much crazy happened during the Time War that it's pretty easy to assume that The Doctor picked up some extra regenerations here and there.

in my opinion, what makes a good episode, is when they get a writer in, who really loves the show, and is a big fan, and he want to contribute something to the show, so that he can say, "i helped with that" and i agree with your point somewhat, because yes they do it for the money, but that's why anyone has a job, so that they can make money, but some writers, like Russel t Davies really loved the show when he was a kid, which is why he brought it back. and made it as good as the classic series.

The thing about the doctor is he's not like other heroes who are completley good and have done anything wrong, we know the doctor has blood on his hands and has killed and let people die and he knows what he is and what he could do so he needs to control himself and i think he saves the universe so much because he cares about people and he hates himself for what he did but no matter what he has done he is and always will be a good man

Huffington Post and The Sun. John Hurt is the reincarnation from the Time War which happened between McGann and Eccleston. And remember that it was the darkest of times for the Doctor (which also explains Eccleston's cold demeanor at times). He isn't proud to call himself the Doctor during John Hurt's time which is why he is the 9th reincarnation but not the ninth Doctor.
