THanks for sharing this beautiful piece of craft to the kayak. I will make something similar and will test it out before using those C-clamps for the final design.
Very detailed video. I set up my tandem yak like this now. I can actually fish alone how you showed on this tutorial. Greetings from Miami FL. Gracias Hermano!
I have the same kayak. Best $180 I ever spent. It has made fishing so much more enjoyable and I didn't have to break the bank! Going to try some of these modifications on mine. Thanks for sharing!
That white float thing is called a bumper for boats you put a rope on them and hang them off the side of a boat so your boat don’t hit the dock when you pull your boat up to a dock
Thank you so much for showing the build process there's not a lot of people that stroll how they made it and you're correct not a lot of people test it out I'm going to go ahead and try to make it myself I wanted to purchase them but they're just too expensive thank you so much I subscribed to your channel
Super job! Your craftsmanship is excellent! One of the best videos I’ve ever seen! How to do it, then how it works!!! NICE!!! FYI, Flip your paddle over though. The notch allows the water to go back into the pond, buts the notch had to be on the bottom of the paddle.
I live in australia and have a kayak i love your videos and i need a stableizer on it i am going to make one like yours as it adjusts for paddleing love the simple stuff have got on your yak thanks for the video
First thank you for the videos. I went out today and bought all the pvc stuff to get started just have to get the boat bumpers. But no big hurry on the bumpers it's pretty cold in central Illinois right now.
Thanks for sharing the video. I have watched several and decided to go with what you did. I have a 13' Heritage fishing kayak and its fast but not very stable. going to get started 2maro afternoon cant wait
Thank you for comment. Just remember they are mainly for fishing. If you are just kayaking down a river you might not want to use them. We went on a lake with some friends and did not take them off. We were running slow compared to the others.
Thank you for building, testing and reviewing what was done. Is the materials list in the description for the longer modified outrigger or for the one you tested in the video?
Lmao!!lov it,,just got two kayak today,i can see me flippn in it already.stop by wal mart with som supply ,including a marine fender same siz n color😂.still mentaly engineering on hw im gonna do this.labr of lov,,,cant wait to launch it in the gulf.hahaha
Great job! I like your design best after seeing a bunch. Where do I find the details on the measurements, size bolts etc...? Thought it was coming at the end of the video. I do appreciate your time in advance!
Click down at top of video shows what we used. Hope that helps. Some things you might have to figure out. God bless thanks for watching. Not to hard to do.
I'm about to do this exact build based on your design. Did those screws hold in place? The ones screwed into the 1 x 4. I'm always weary about screwing into plastic
You may want to measure what you think you will need. My son-in-law wrote this up and I’m not certain what he was thinking at the time. Is does sound correct. Thanks for watching and God bless.
We ran our hands through the port holes where the lids come up. Might have the stretch your arms but it was really no problem. Hope it all works out for you. It’s ok to ask any questions ......
They make those floats in 8 inches x 27 inches long. They would really give more buoyancy... I’m 6 1 and the 6in x 22 works for me. Have a great day Mark.
Yes find some of the tall push mower wheels. I was gonna do that but we just load them from our truck and walk to the water. Makes a difference if you have two people to carry them. You can add wheels.
Good video but I would rather put the air valve to the top in case it goes to leaking it won’t take in as much water and make the design where a pin drops the floats to re inflate
@@attechoutdoors5893 I have no way to access the inside of the hollow boat. Do you think self tapping screws could work? I'd like to build the same thing as you have here but I'm not sure if self tapping screws will hold up. What do you think? Thanks for the reply! Great vid btw
Yes they will slow you down a bit, but not to bad. You can buy a bigger size that would give you more stability. Longer would work but might be in your way while paddle. Thanks for watching.
They are about 1/2 way in the water. So they are submerged a little. I figure they are around 20 lbs. of float on each side by the size they are. Thanks for checking us out.
I ordered them off eBay, I think it tells in one of the videos. They do work but they also make one size bigger. They help if you decide to stand up and fish. Thanks for watching and comment. It tells at top of comments and the size we used.
planning to make one, thanks for the video. Question how high did you determine the outriggers to be from the bottom of the kayak if your looking at it front view?
I'm always amazed that a customer can make mods to these little boats that the guys who design the things cannot conceive. Boat companies should fire every swingin' dick 'designer' and hire a fella like this and then add his changes to all new models.

Well the longer the stablelizers are away from the kayak the better center of gravity for stability.18 inches is what ya need

If you set the bouys to sit deeper in the water would it help with stability?
Good possibility but there would be more drag while moving through the water.

Yes sure have…good stuff….thanks for watching merry Christmas
Permisi izin bertanya, apa nama pelampung warna putih yang ada di samping perahu itu ,
No translation don’t understand.
I believe it's a fender. It's what you use to keep boats from hitting when you come in.
@@attechoutdoors5893 They're asking what the white thing is that you're using for flotation/stabilization. The fenders, if I'm not mistaken.

How much does the outrigger system weigh?

Great Idea for Outriggers! I'm looking to build some myself. The problem is I'm over 6ft tall. I might need more float! Lol

Just have a quick question. What size boat fenders are they in regards to length? 16”, 22”, or 27”? Great tutorial too, I really enjoyed the video.
22” long thanks for watching.
You should’ve made the float adjustable too. Would’ve been more stable if the floats were lower in the water IMO.
Yes it would give more stability. Thanks for watching.
Where is list of material?
Look in list of descriptions it is all there. Thanks for watching.
Southern and Midwest accents are the best

Do you think it would be possible to have a wheel on a fixture that attached the same as the pontoons for rolling it to the shore?

Did you use self tapping screws or what? I can't use a bolt because I have a sit on kayak and I can't screw a nut onto the back of the bolt.
To attach the board to the boat, I mean.

Boat fender or dock bumper it will come up on eBay.
What size where the washers yoh used on the caps
Not sure they were just big enough to fit. Sorry . I have always used something big enough to make a good hold.
