You are simply amazing Marty. I can't thank you enough. Watching your videos alone is very addictive. Knowing that your hard work and devotion is for my benefit is humbling. I don't deserve the incredible attention to detail you are putting forth. I'm getting really excited because it's so close to being finished. I'm so grateful Marty. It's amazing how much more stable it is with them installed. I'm even honored that you slimed it with a Snook, of all things. That definitely takes the pressure off me... lol! I am counting the days with much anticipated excitement for the day of arrival. Keep up the great work and definitely make fishing the first priority over this build. Again, thank you so much.
I'm not Paralyzed at all I've been on Dialysis for 12 years now and it's very difficult to Stand from a low seated position. I love to fish, but I'm limited certain types of boats. This build puts me back in the game.
Oh I see. That's awesome man. I hope you really get a lot out of being back on the water. I myself am a partial para from the knees down, and the things he did on this yak would help me a ton also. Keep fighting the good fight Patrick!
I'm sorry to hear about your condition. It just so happens there's a young man, whom I have become friends with, that's paralyzed from the waist down. I'll be helping him get into kayaking with this yak. Ditto on the good fight!
I want to say that your videos have helped me more than any other videos I have found, I have a small 10 ft Lifetime Teton sit on and am going to use many of your hacks to get this kayak more stable, I am disabled and have trouble walking but I can get in a yak and go, Thanks for all you do
Marty, you're an amazing person. You have a big heart. We've all learned so much from you. I just started kayak fishing this year. I purchased my pelican catch pwr 100, with the 2.5 Suzuki. I plan to do many DIY projects. I did do the outriggers, on the Scotty video you did. I fish a 700 acre freshwater lake. Be safe brother, god bless. 🙏🙏
Nice video, lots of great ideas you've provided. Possibly two suggestions... 1. For the pontoons, possibly consider adding a medium to soft spring or shock absorber inside of the pvc, although outside may also be an option, to keep both pontoons always in constant contact with the water and provide less roll to either side. 2. When cutting your slot in the bottom of the foam for your fin matching it to your wood flooring lines, instead of using a marker freehand how about trying a chalk-line for better line accuracy and easiness.
My brother and I moved to Tampa Bay from Fort Lauderdale this week. We made this decision with help from your videos. We already love it here in Pinellas Park. Can't wait to begin fishing these mangroves on a kayak!
I did something similar with denser Styrofoam, an old pool skimmer pole and some long bolts. It made my very tippy kayak into the most stable one I know. I use an electric motor when using the pontoons because it is more difficult to paddle. What a difference being able to stand with confidence. Thanks for the great video. I like the keel idea.
Glad that you are putting emphasis on stabilizing kayaks with pontoons. That certainly makes kayaks safer with so many inconsiderate power boaters out there raising 3 foot waves as they pass by. I will be putting on pontoons on my own kayak and I appreciate the inspiration...thanks!
Because of your videos last night I dreamt I was catching red snapper I have never fished the ocean so it wasn't something that I've done before so it's definitely from your videos. tight lines buddy
I thought of buying a foreign-made kayak for our little boats (baruto) here in Cebu are traditionally made of wood and bamboo outriggers. They can be destroyed by the hot weather here and I fish not more often. With your video I guess I might consider buying your kayak at the surplus store. Thanks for posting.
When you are paddling yes they do not need to be in the water but when you are fishing they need to be hitting the water taking some of the load off the kayak. That's why adjustable ones are better.
im not a fisherman of any sorts, i did a little bit of fishing when i was a kid with my grandad back in the day, but other than that i dont even care about fishing. i like to watch these videos when im really baked because i think there fascinating, thanks Marty for keeping me interested :D
Great video Marty, been a kayaker for about 20 years and now think I’m going to do the fishing kayak thing.think I’m going to go with the new Pelican 130 hd to add to my fleet
Nice Job l like it' One Question when You took your kayak out to find out where to set the pontoons wouldn't won't to be in kayak to set pontoons because the the difference of weight ?
I've watched this a couple of times and I still don't see why you would want "flex" in something that is for "stability"🤔 ??? I've tried to factor in for the waves that you mentioned but I still think it shouldn't have the flex... but I don't know. I'm in the process of redoing my kayak. I'm making the swap from whitewater and surf kayaking to fishing from a kayak and I'll definitely be adding outriggers to mine so I'm watching as many videos as possible on the subject so I'll have all the information that I'll need. Yours do look super sweet! Rip'n Lips from Amarillo Texas!
All well said and done, I would suggest to use larger and tougher attachment pvc pipes, or other materiels which are more robust as we're against the waves and elements out there.
Marty you read minds. As soon as I saw Einstein in the back I was wondering "what the hell" and the next thing I know you're putting the camera right in front of his face :p
it would be awesome if you did a video on rigging up a sit inside kayak. that's what I have and I feel like I'm constricted to what can be done for fishing. I think you'd make something awesome
Why did you glow the floter on???. I think it would be ezer to take apart. If it is for twest 2 tide wires will do the trick. I don't think you would pop out just stuck in.
i am from Kansas and before next spring I'm hoping to have the money saved up to buy this kayak it will be my first kayak purchase I'm excited about the fishing experiences I will have in it
Amazing video, I loved your wife. 🤣 Could I ask where you bought the foam cylinders? In interested in a build like this for my kayak because I can't afford a new kayak. Earned my sub too!
Just a quick question from a dummy...lol When you say align the pontoons I assume that you are talking about with the centre line of the kayak and not with the sides. At 70 I am selling my tinny and buying a new fishing kayak. The last thing that I need is to have the bloody thing goe base over apex and me in the water...LOL So thatnk you for the vid...very informative.
Hey i'm one of you fans a i have a kayak and i want to put some Pontoons but i dont know how make them can you help me thanks you have a nice day i live in tampa
Jeez, I wish I had won this kayak. When I get mine, soon I hope, I may consider making myself pontoons. I need to see how a fat old woman can handle it without them first. Your attention is awesome.
Great vid! Hey, why don't you make pontoons and sell them for some extra $$. I think you'd make some good money in making some custom pontoons. "KoN TiKi Pontoons"

Patrick are you fully paralyzed below the waist or partial?
I'm not Paralyzed at all I've been on Dialysis for 12 years now and it's very difficult to Stand from a low seated position. I love to fish, but I'm limited certain types of boats. This build puts me back in the game.

No reason to be sorry. Life goes on, and on the upside I retired at 31, so now I have plenty of time to fish. Take care good sir!
Lmfao "not another one of your carving" lost my marbles, greaty vid marty

Good job for attaching the pontoons looks very good and stable! :) Thumbs up from rainy and windy Ireland lol :)
just keep getting better and better. Love the work so far.
I'm impressed great engineering and excellent video production...Bravo..!!!!
12:29 scared me but good.
This might be the perfect Zoffinger video.
Workmanship and videography were excellent. 👍
I've just started kayak fishing and your info is first class
My first time watching your video love the work...
I did something similar with denser Styrofoam, an old pool skimmer pole and some long bolts. It made my very tippy kayak into the most stable one I know. Yep getting roled over by them sucks, just played that game and I don't want to play it again.
Because of your videos last night I dreamt I was catching red snapper I have never fished the ocean so it wasn't something that I've done before so it's definitely from your videos. tight lines buddy
You a good fellow, Marty. I like watch your DYI stuff.
Awesome man. It looks gorgeous. I'll be getting myself a kayak very soon just because of your videos. :)
I thought of buying a foreign-made kayak for our little boats (baruto) here in Cebu are traditionally made of wood and bamboo outriggers. I love the way you incorporate art into everything you do. Very inspirational. Thanks!
...and to think I was going to buy some pontoons. I'm going to build my own now. Thanks Marty!
im not a fisherman of any sorts, i did a little bit of fishing when i was a kid with my grandad back in the day, but other than that i dont even care about fishing. i like to watch these videos when im really baked because i think there fascinating, thanks Marty for keeping me interested :D
another awesome vid. always get excited when I get a notification of a new vid.
and I think the word is hydrodynamic when it comes to water lol
Where did the foam blocks come from? Liked the mounting of the fiberglass to improve tracking...
Looking pretty good Marty!
lmfao..... dude your videos get better and better!
Brushing on a thin layer of plaster then sand smooth....makes a nice barrier for the polyester resin. Plastic wrap also works.
I've watched this a couple of times and I still don't see why you would want "flex" in something that is for "stability"🤔 ???

All well said and done, I would suggest to use larger and tougher attachment pvc pipes, or other materiels which are more robust as we're against the waves and elements out there.
awesome video and great pontoons! you should deff hit up Miami and the keys! you should try fishing in deep water.
I enjoyed that music xD i can fall asleep to that
Marty you read minds. As soon as I saw Einstein in the back I was wondering "what the hell" and the next thing I know you're putting the camera right in front of his face :p
hi Marty cool videos did you catch any fish while on your boat adventure.
What is the black gizmo called that the PVC fitting fits the boat to the pontoon? That black fitting have a name a where can you buy one.
Nice job and great humor👍🏼
I think you better have two contact points between the kayak and each pontoon.
Too much stress on one pvc 3/4 pipe.
awesome video marty ,as always !
A vertically adjustable scotty mount would be great to adjust the depth of the pontoons and raise them out of the water while paddling
It's looking great, I have a tandem, do you think pontoons up front would be adequately functional or affect steering adversely.
awesome job man, you are a true engineer...
your a wizard marty
great job on the pontoons marty!!! i was just wondering where is that spot at i would like to take my kayak out there one day
too funny Marty...but awesome vidja on how to building your own
pontoons
How did you build your pontoons please Frank uk
That bit with the Nagging Wife was the BEST xDDD
Where did you get the wig tho Marty? :'D!!
Did you fill pontoons with buoyant foam?
What kind of seat is that?
good stuff..boss, .luv yur pontoon set up . nice simple and it works beautifully .do you hv a video on building this set up? thank-you ,..cheers
it would be awesome if you did a video on rigging up a sit inside kayak. that's what I have and I feel like I'm constricted to what can be done for fishing. I think you'd make something awesome
You make this look easy!!
Why did you glow the floter on???. I think it would be ezer to take apart. If it is for twest 2 tide wires will do the trick. I don't think you would pop out just stuck in.
yes, want to get entered for my chance to win. love your work!!
gonna need an extra long paddle, I learned that the hard way on sitting high
Is your shop in Tarpon Springs Florida?
what was that first fish you caught?
Hi zoffinger, you helped me a lot, thank you very thanks to kayak sitabilizer.
They look like they are flexing quite a bit, I would probably upgrade to schedule 80 PVC on the 45, Tee, and the pipe between them.
Everywhere you go looks like a perfect spot to be eaten by a croc.
i am from Kansas and before next spring I'm hoping to have the money saved up to buy this kayak it will be my first kayak purchase I'm excited about the fishing experiences I will have in it
Amazing video, I loved your wife. 🤣 Could I ask where you bought the foam cylinders? In interested in a build like this for my kayak because I can't afford a new kayak. Earned my sub too!
love your work keep it
Perfect setup but isnt your seat way too high.? Coming from a canoeist.I kneel as the centre of gravity is better.
Where did you launch from?
Florida
Love the pontoon idea.
Was that your sister fussing at you about the grater? She favoured you alot! ;)
"Hydrodynamic" 😄 🤣 😂 😆
Kayak giveaway?! How do I enter?
1:39 You don't have a problem you have a solution.
*The only question I have is; where can I get or purchase round styrofoam???*
Bit late. 2 years ago ! Pool noodles might do a job? Can buy them through AliExpress if you can't find any nearer home.
marty i liked how you ended with a shot of einstein^ genius work mate
Oh yes...love it !! Your wife needs to be on a little more..Ty and Teresa.....Marty and Mary....sounds good doesnt it ?
Just a quick question from a dummy...lol When you say align the pontoons I assume that you are talking about with the centre line of the kayak and not with the sides. was it me....
or was that pontoon staring at you too?
Looks like something outta Star Trek, but it works
what Patrick said, love it more please,
PND Outdoors i
Marty have you ever thought of posting a video each day of just your every day stuff.
11:48 don't you mean hydrodynamic?
We all have that problem 🤙
i can't believe there's snow in Florida, lol
looks like you need a longer paddle. seems like youre really having to bend over to row due to the higher seat.
Hey i'm one of you fans a i have a kayak and i want to put some Pontoons but i dont know how make them can you help me thanks you have a nice day i live in tampa
Very cool!
Outstanding!
Love the eyes!
I need some for my kayak
And it looks like Star Trek Shuttle Pod 1.
Thanks 🙋♂️
Nice! Very nice.
You should make a zoffinger built Live well
So all I need to do now is win a kayak from you ;)
Your girlfriend is smokin! Though she looks strangely familiar..... :)
That water was not deep enough for a test, The pontoon was clearly hitting bottom so of course it wouldn't tip over.
You have no resistance when you are paddling nice.
Awsome ideal
the wife was funny
Jeez, I wish I had won this kayak. When I get mine, soon I hope, I may consider making myself pontoons. I need to see how a fat old woman can handle it without them first. Your attention is awesome.
Great vid! Hey, why don't you make pontoons and sell them for some extra $$. I think you'd make some good money in making some custom pontoons. "KoN TiKi Pontoons"
All you guys down South have mas grande juevos because anywhere with sharks or gators, you wouldn't catch me in a yak or canoe.
