I have the surge. It works well for what it was intended for....decking and structural screws. Anything using an impact socket....impact wrench! I have the milwaukee 3/8 brusless fuel impact wrench and it sinks 1/2" lag bolts like there is no tomorrow!!!!!
The surge is a hydraulic drive, which makes it quieter and smoother than a traditional impact driver. It’s not as fast or powerful, but people who work with small fasteners in small spaces will prefer it over the traditional all day long.
It's funny how the goal post shifts for what standard, test and result is acceptable when its a milwaukee Vs a milwaukee. If that surge was any other drill people would be saying its no good and that they'll stick with their milwaukee.
Para tornillos libianos osea no tan grandes como esos y gruesos el surge no tiene competencia es el.mejor en eso aparte de q no ase tanto ruido como todos los demas del.mercado
@@bartholomewgreatpants3425 ah you are correct. I saw makita....or at least i think i did? Either a japanese edition or he's dying his tools..... Seriously though there is a dewalt dcd998 speed sense that is flexvolt that is a baaaaad @$$ mombajamba. It has me thinking about a 3rd platform. Hell i might switch over to dewalt if they come up with bigger stack lithium batteries. Time will tell.
The surge is a completely different impact it’s meant for fine/delicate wood and to have less vibration for those fragile pieces and noise not lags 😆😆
Exactly. To put it simply the Surge is for indoors and the regular driver is for outdoors. Cabinets vs Framing wood
I really want to see the Surge technology expand to larger impact wrenches. The relative silence and smoothness is just amazing.
Surge isn’t meant for lags or large diameter stuff. Run 3” deck screws and they’ll be neck and neck
Not even that, the most I do with mine is cabinetry and electrical.

Surge is made to be smooth and quiet. not fast
I have the surge, definitely prefer my traditional impact for power. To be honest on light duty tasks the surge is great

If I'm only buying one for a wide variety of tasks, which one? Thanks! 🙏
Is that an orange Makita impact?? What model is that??
I'm content with the Surge for 50 bucks at ace it's a no brainer for around the house things
$50?
Can’t believe this was actually requested…. 😅 I knew what this would look like ahead of time.
I’ve had 2 gen 4 impacts go bad on me like the internals get stuck
Is surge reliable in long term use?
dropped mine from 25ft up out of a bucket years ago and its still going strong
The only thing I don't like about my gen 4 is the bigger impact head I have trouble maneuvering in tight spaces with it
the surge is a purpose built impact, not meant for the heavy fasteners you showed. Honestly, 2 different tools for 2 different people/jobs
Surge is for less noise thats why it has a hydraulic drive and only 450 inch lbs of torque. Regular drives has 2,000 inch lbs of torque
The gen 4 gets too hot when doing heavy gauge metal framing.
Just get both
Thats like a ferrari trying to race a 79 series landcruiser lol. Different purposes

ITS the TURTLE vs the HAIR
There was no comparing which would do best the surge is for light to medium task and the impact driver is for heavy duty task
The gen 4 will stomp the surge I found this out on site
Oh you're gonna tease us with that Dewalt but not try it??? In the words of our dear leader....COME ON MAN....😁😎
Where the hell did you see a DeWalt fester? Best get your eyes checked. Not all yellow tools are DeWalt.

How many times we got to watch different people doing this. Same thing Milwaukee plus Milwaukee this we're going to drive screws in oh boy.
I love theyellow makita
I get complaints about noise, and my forearms take a lot of abuse… surge it is
Animal por eso lee las intrucciones antes de comprarar el surge esta disellado para atornillar con menos ruido no fuersa como estas comparando
I can't hear him
Trade you hearing for a couple seconds. Got for the Gen4 then...
Funny how he broke the surge doing this
Pointless teat ,both impacts are designed for different uses.
Gen 4 is king
