Electric vehicles HAVE to get cheaper if the US wants to force them on everyone. I should not have to pay $75,000 for a "work truck" trim vehicle. That is absolutely ridiculous.

When will people realize that no average car/truck should be priced anywhere near $100,000 and stop paying these corporations! These companies don’t care about the consumers and this truck isn’t going to last any longer then the $30,000 trucks of similar size 10 years ago and based off of current trends in another 10 years this will be $150,000 🤦‍♂️ and it’s not just vehicles like this even the ones that used to be cheap like sub $20,000 are approaching 40-$50,000!! Never thought I’d see the day that Honda would charge $60,000 for a Civic that was $25,000-$30000 not even 6 years ago! The car market needs to go Bankrupt! 🤷‍♂️

This is the best EV truck out there. The design team went all out and it shows in every aspect of design and performance. The best part for me is the range. At 440 miles, battery anxiety ceases to be an issue. I do tow a boat and many of us would like to see the range with different loads. Also, I have always driven a 3/4 ton. You can carry 1,300 lbs. in the RST, 1,400 LBS. in the work truck so there is hardly a need for a separate 3/4 ton. Still waiting to order something other than black or white. But the wait is well worth it!

At the rate EV's have been depreciating, you can either wait to buy one that was driven off the lot for 30% off, or after just 1 year for 40-50% off. No sense to paying $90-110k for any of these EV's. Crazy thing is the Silverado EV doesn't even include premium materials on the interior at that luxury level MSRP price.
With that said I'd be a buyer of this 440mi truck.. after that 40%+ 'used' discount providing they drop the CCS charger for NACs so you can actually reliably charge on road trips.

I'm am Avalanche owner and I think it's a beautiful truck. If they are saying that they were just creating it because "Form follows function" then that means the very same for the Avalanche. And if you are really trying to distance this "Silverado" from the Avalanche then why did you make a color and call it "Avalanche Gray"??????

Every time I've seen an electric truck (rarely), I never see it carrying a payload or towing anything of a sort. 🤔 So it seems to me that these elctric trucks are better used as toys rather than actual trucks. I think one big zonk you should have given is regarding the way they did the mid gate like an Avalance, where you have to remove the bar and glass to get full access, rather than going with the power window design they had in the GMC Envoy XUV.

I've had a 2007 Cadillac Escalade Ext since 2009 and it has 230,000 miles on it...I love my truck and it's basically a high end Available, but this Chevy EV....Yea it makes me want to buy it. I love the "Avalanche" like features.... Whether they designed it based off that or not, it's definitely inspired by the Avalanche. The mid gate lowering and removable glass is directly from the avalanche.

I wouldn't spend over 100k on an ev which takes 10min to charge 100 miles. My Hyundai Sonata has 400 miles range and takes 5minutes or less to fill up from E. And it's cheaper, probably more reliable too. I'm good. Good looking truck though. If this was a v6 or v8 and cheaper I would consider it

The mid panel uptop behind the rear seats comes off as well, JerryRigEverything did a truck run and they got a 100% to 0% range of 460 miles. Which is pretty impressive, hopefully this forces other EV manufacturers up their game on terms of range.

This truck is simply gorgeous. I would pick over the Hummer EV. The color really pops and I like the Avalanche look to it. Yes the Avalanche was a top seller for Chevrolet. Not sure why they discontinued it. Maybe because it cut into the sells of the Silverado.

  • @Bowhunters6go8xz6x

Not my favorite color but I love the truck in that it is a fully functional pickup that is gorgeous to look at and as an EV it doesn't lose most of its driving range when you hook up a trailer like the Ford Lightning and you actually have enough room in the Frunk to put in more than just a little charge cable. The price is a different subject ! ----- Thank You Joe and Lori !

I honestly dig it. Drop a shell on that baby and that's a tailgating camping funhouse. Let's see, $20k down, finance the rest and I'd be looking around $1,500-$1,600 per month plus insurance, charger, electricity...rapidly closing in on $2k per month. Around $13k in interest on a 5 year takes us up to $119,000 on top tier trim when paid off. I mean, ya I guess, but jeez, how the hell did we get here!? Is this kind of pricing really sustainable in the car market?

I like it and it would be my first choice for an e-truck, EXCEPT that the flares coming off the back of the truck and down to the bed rails are a deal killer. They look fine but mean no truck bed topper is going to work on the Silverado EV. That's unfortunate because the fold down back panel that extends the truck bed would be a great feature to have with a topper used for camping and overlanding.

Nice truck but its about 2 years too late and the naming is confusing. They should call it the Avalanche and make it its own model, not another Silverado because its completely different than all the other Silverado trucks. Probably the best looking electic truck IMO, more unique than a lightning and not as silly as a Tesla.

Very very high expectations for this Chevy Silverado EV and it's all well and good but you can't call something being the best without it existing. And as of right now the only vehicle that exists is the work truck trim. And last I checked it wasn't doing too good on distance compared to other EV pickups. Now the only trim that's available to use is the work trim which you can rent it from one of the rental car companies and it's been available for almost a month now. All the other models and trim levels won't be out for another year
