Sadly I doubt I will ever be able to buy anything new the rest of my life. My 31 year old GMC will have to do it for as long as I can keep it going. For me to buy a 2025 it is going to have to be 15-20 years old and I doubt I will still be here
The specs and performance of this electric truck are perfect, except for the tires. Large wheels and skinny tires makes no sense on any vehicle, but especially a truck. Other than that, there's no other electric truck out there currently that can beat it. It makes the Cybertruck look like a stripped down tin can in comparison.
OMG. I have watched several videos on this truck and noone talks about the important things about this truck. Who cares how fast it goes. This isnt a Ferrari. The range from towing a boat drops down to and below 200 miles from 400 miles. What is the life of this battery ??? From what I have read, 5 to 6 years. What is the replacement cost of this battery ??? $30k to $35k. This truck basically is $100k if you get some of the options on it. If leasing is an option, that would definetly be the way to go because at the end of 5 years $100k less $60K (depreciation) less $35k (battery replacement) leaves you a $100k truck that is now worth $5k. And that isn't the worst. How much money is Chevrolet losing for each truck it sells for $100k? I have read Ford has lost their ass on the F150 Lightning just to get the price point where even a small market at best will buy it.
Allowing anyone off the street, literally, to use a cable and connect it to a device that flows 350,000 watts of power and making it seem absolutely normal is mind boggling!! I can't think of a single thing that could go wrong. LOL Imagine 10 dispensers, flowing 3.5 megawatts of power. Oh ya, the magical energy source comes into play.... LOL
GM’s EV strategy of overbuilding at a loss can’t last forever. Eventually they’ll need to lean out the BOM on the Ultium platform and the truck and do it profitably. Love it or hate it the Cybertruck was designed functionally lean from day 1.
"lean out the BOM" isn't the only way to do it, even though Tesla seems to think so. At any rate they've already got a simplified BOM with Ultium, combined with scale achieves profitability for them and a huge portfolio which Tesla is unable to achieve. GM has stated that breakeven and profitability was achieved this last spring, with the opening of two battery plants.
Sweetheart y’all gotta stop listening to these anti-gm sources for information. *gm* isn’t building at any losses. Honda is footing the bill for a lot of their costs which is the price you pay when you don’t have your own bespoke fully electric platform to build your own EVs. *gm* has thought this out better than anyone else. They release top fully loaded trim models first and all the info for the trims below it for customers to plan properly for which trim fits their needs. By the time they place orders and expect deliveries *gm’s* Ultium plants should be online which will allow less expensive trims to remain profitable at scale and full production. This is much better than what Tesla and others do with the fluctuations and changes in prices of the model you’ve already paid a deposit on.
$2300 for tires for that thing and they are going to wear out about 20-30% sooner (at least) than other full size trucks under equal use LOL, hard pass. All the tech is cool, but as soon as something goes out, not under warranty or you're sitting in the drive-way for an hour for an over the air update just so you can drive it (Bronco anyone?). Definitely not worth it.
It may too expensive & too late, China’s BYD has EV trucks hauling EV boats across the southern boarder any day now trying to save planet while saving us a lot of money.😮
“This is the only system on the road that allows for hands-free towing.” I’ve heard this claim on a couple other video on the EV Silverado. It’s incorrect. Technically the Nissan Pro-Pilot 2 systems also allows for hands-free driving while towing. It’s not a truck, but I do it on my Ariya with a hitch.
Haul a lot of people? I've never seen the back seats in one of these things with people in them, NEVER, these trucks are only emotional support vehicles, no matter how they are powered.

Sadly I doubt I will ever be able to buy anything new the rest of my life. My 31 year old GMC will have to do it for as long as I can keep it going. For me to buy a 2025 it is going to have to be 15-20 years old and I doubt I will still be here
I’m ready for an ev truck…then the price tag hits me, and then I have to pass
LOL
Dangerous freedom os better than peaceful slavery
@@G-Rated Amen! People love to hate GM, common when you're the market leader, but the fact is their engineering is lightyears ahead.
5 pin connector 😊
Imagine the weight of those wheels. Seems odd for an EV and wanting better efficiency.
It may too expensive & too late, China’s BYD has EV trucks hauling EV boats across the southern boarder any day now trying to save planet while saving us a lot of money.😮
Seats look cheaply made
I haven’t seen any of the work trucks on the road.
Theyre buying f series for work trucks and theyre buying ram cummins for towing.
@@TheAnnoyingBoss Lightnings are being used as work trucks in my area.
“This is the only system on the road that allows for hands-free towing.”
I’ve heard this claim on a couple other video on the EV Silverado. It’s incorrect. Technically the Nissan Pro-Pilot 2 systems also allows for hands-free driving while towing. It’s not a truck, but I do it on my Ariya with a hitch.
Only 96k! At that price everyone should have one!.......Said no one ever.
Haul a lot of people? I've never seen the back seats in one of these things with people in them, NEVER, these trucks are only emotional support vehicles, no matter how they are powered.
I think this is how the tahoe and suburban EV will look.
Can I lift it and run 37" mid terrains? 😂
$100k. Nothing else to talk about. Wait for the prices to come down or buy a used diesel and save $50k spend it on fuel.
Ehhh...I'll wait for the RAM REV
$100k and a blank button on the steering wheel. Who does Chevy think they are, Porsche?
🔥🔥
The Mid-Gate is DUMB!!!! Get a truck w/an 8' bed and keep the elements outta ur cabin.
Only 1.75 the median family annual salary.
I wanna see the first finger
Too many settings. Vehicles were supposed to get easier to use not more complicated. It is ridiculous to what vehicles have become.
I will wait for the Ram electric with the backup gas generator engine.
I find it so ironic, what buyer who can afford a $95k truck will ever be carrying plywood in the bed. All these manufactures are so out of touch
Maybe for $60k, it might be worth it, but any more than that, nope.
Just another appliance.
Lol 100k, keep it
I will be surprised if these sell well. EV'S seem to be not selling very well. For this price you can get a diesel dually Denali.
Hands free, aka *eat a hamburger mode*
