Always seeking to explore new and refreshing fragrances, I was recently contacted by a subscriber, who recommended I give another Antonio Puig creation a try - Brummel Eau de Cologne has been around since 1975 and has a cult following in it's native Spain, where it is considered to be a 'safe' fragrance.
Here is my considered review after several months of rotational use - enjoy.

Fragrance can have a huge impact upon your mood, confidence and the way you are perceived by the people that you meet - so its imperative that you get the best from your fragrances.

I'm from Spain: Brummel cologne conquered every corner of every working-class neighborhood in the 80s, its scent remains in the collective memory of several generations as well as on every shelf in every supermarket along the country.

I have had Brummel Eau de cologne for a very long time, the Antonio Puig fragrances are my favourites among my most beloved colognes/aftershaves, QUORUM, AGUA BRAVA and BRUMMEL never fail to be in my wardrobe ........... it's a pity that SYBARIS and VETIVER do not exist anymore.
taking the opportunity, you should try GOTAS DE ORO colonia concentrada for men......... it's from the SPANISH INSTITUTE and you would never believe how great and masculine this fragrance smells; some fragrances are now so cheap as they are not on the fashion line anymore, so they get hidden in the past of "old men's colognes" phrase but, they are really very fine, sophisticate and luxurious aftershaves/colognes that must be noticed by those guys out there that have the appreciation for gems from the past.
I just bought a bottle of this. It was shipped from Spain! It's a half litre bottle. It's massive and only cost me 30 GBP, including shipping! 😮
One of my favourite Puig fragrances was called Sybaris it was an 80's powerhouse - Sadly no longer available. The root formulation of Quorum was absolutely spectacular!

Another nice review Ash, agree with you that Puig make great reasonable classic fragrances, all of the Quorums, Silver and Aqua, are great value, love the Aqua in the summer. Got Brummel in an after shave and EDT set which I ordered from Spain at reasonable cost and postage. A few years ago you could get it from some UK shaving sites, but I struggled to find it in the UK when I looked to buy it. Keep up the excellent reviews, not sure if have tried/reviewed Cerruti 1881, a classic fragrance for the summer 😃

Thanks for the info. I was unaware that so many other more famous fragrances lived under the Puig umbrella, particularly Paco Rabanne, one of my favorites for spring. (And Quorum has been my cool weather go-to for decades.) I remember this stuff was available in drug stores briefly here in the US when I was a kid, but wasn’t impressed. I might give it another shot. And I’m glad I now know how to pronounce “Brummel.” I’d previously thought, judging from the spelling, that it rhymes with “pummel,” what one is occasionally tempted to do to the face of someone whose company one finds objectionable. Thanks for helping complete my education.

Puig's Quorum Silver is simply magical. I will have to try Brummel. Ash, the other week in your Tabac review you appeared to tempt us on the channel with a Tabac Craftsman bottle. The prospect of a spicy Sauvage esque Tabac. Could this be a potent Tabac that projects and lasts all evening? I for one would like to know! If we could have a review on this please I would be much obliged Sir.
Bought a gift set in Spain over a decade ago. I recall one bottle was a splash and one was a cologne. Very nice. Not particularly strong or long lasting, but very, very nice. But what about the Italian Denim? Similar demographic I think.

Shame it's just EDC, I'd pick a bottle up otherwise.
