- We made this video to show you how to remove and replace the radio from a 2012 Kia Soul. The old radio was overheating and was going on and off at will. We purchased the replacement radio used off EBAY for about $80. The Kia Dealership wanted $1500 just for the radio without installation. We left in some of our struggling so that you can see the true experience of changing this radio! Once you know how to do it, it's not so hard.
My daughters 2013 soul has a radio problem where it comes on but no sound. I agree with you in regards to the over heating and a question to you or anyone is, in the top panel, it looked like there was nothing there? A big void? Could a person modify the cover with a plastic cover like a speaker guard and install a fan to either push air into the radio area or pull out heated air. Any temperature drop on radio will help. Comments please

A little more work and cost, but should've upgraded to an aftermarket unit with smartphone connectivity.

Because the dash is held in with friction grips, I was able to simply pull it off my dash with a bit of effort. That was, by far, the trickiest part of the process.
Great video! And you’re absolutely right. None of the videos posted show how to get that damn bezel started. I tried to replace my stock radio two years ago and could not get past that. But driving along I can feel that notch under there. Thanks

Start from the top it comes off much easier
Just to add I found on my second go if you Start at the top the bottom is easier to get off

Thanks for your informative video. I have heard that putting a piece of masking tape over the end of a screwdriver will help prevent marring of the plastic.
If you have satellite radio, there will be two antenna cables.
anyone having a problem with their hazard light button? Mine keeps flickering. Checked the fuse, disconnected, reconnected my battery. Nothing. Anyone else?? I have the 2013 Soul

I have a 2010 kia soul 1.6 and I added an amp and subwoofer so the whole system played just fine , today I turn on the radio and the whole entire radio doesn't even come on....HELP
How did u add an amp? And do u have am aftermarket radio?

The thing that surprised me was: I thought that circle piece of the dash was a speaker.
I am pretty sure that if you buy the Soul model with the fancy stereo system, it DOES have a speaker under the circle piece.

My radio turns on but there's no sound. I tried all the resets but nothing worked. Should i replace the radio?

I replaced its. It's didn't work anymore. I got a pioneer radio. The one I got is $800 and I'm still paying it off. It's a good radio to be honest
How's the new radio?
The new radio has continued to work great. It took some time to find one on EBAY that was in clean, nice condition. If you try, you can find a good one at a good price.
Question if I replace my radio will the disable my voice control button from the steering wheel. I would actually want this to happen because my voice control will go on and off constantly. And just makes that beeping noise. Or if anyone knows a way to unplug something to disable that. Please I need help.
that's the problem my mom is having with hers but its a 2013. the dealership said it's the radio not the steering wheel in her case, so I'm literally about to try and replace it right now
