I've been wanting to do this to mine but the only thing holding me back is that the new radios don't sit flush like the OEM unit, which makes sense as the dash is on a sharp angle and some units are way deeper than others and won't fit in the dash space
I have a 2011 Soul, I purchased a Scosche wire harness, the wire harness is listed for 2009-2019 Hyundai/Kia I removed the radio but the wire harness only fits the two smaller plugs not the larger on on top. Do you know if the radio will work if i do not plug the top larger plug?
Plug it in and test it before you put it all back together. I unfortunately do not remember what exactly this specific radio takes. Top two are probably for the Amp and sub though.
What size screen double din did you use in the last hookup. I have a neighbor that wants me to hook one up in his wife car and this is the best setup I seen yet.. nice job.
Yep, you just have to buy the harness that connects to the factory harness. I would suggest Crutchfield. They have good directions, show you options for your specific vehicle and have kits that will fit perfectly.
I used the harness that I ordered from Crutchfield. It is supposed to just plug in and work. I couldn't get it to work either. I swapped radios and it still didn't work. It ended up being the wiring interface adapter. Crutchfield sent me a new one, hooked the new one up and it worked with no problems.
@@CousinCleatus thanks I’ll have to look into that. I’m using ASWC-1 Axxess brand and it says it’s compatible with my vehicle but now I’m wondering if it’s compatible with the radio
Which head unit did you get? Do you know the name? Or have a link? I just purchased atoto brand one and wondering if I need the same wiring harness you have or the one that I got which doesn’t have that interface but the brand says it retains steering wheel controls.
This one fits a 2010 soul with subwoofer and steering controls. If yours doesn't have that, you will just need the basic harness. www.crutchfield.com/p_249HK65S/Crux-SWRHK-65S-Wiring-Interface.html?tp=2977
I think this is the one I used on the kia soul. I used a cheaper one before and it didn't work because of the harness I used. This is the more expensive radio. I can link the cheaper one if you need it. Thanks for watching! www.amazon.com/dp/B0863GWFV9/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_glc_fabc_ZN89BW1VDTHVBVPA62X0?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
Good video, thanks for sharing. Look forward to seeing the back up camera you install and how it works.
LOOKS like a good system for a low priced unit good job on the install thumbs up shared happy new year

Yeah I wish it fit better, but the apple car play and android auto are worth it.

It was a 6.5, a 7 should fit too. Thanks for watching.
Friend, greetings from Brazil 🇧🇷
What model of Multimedia Center did you use? Thanks.
Ended up going with a Pyle, it's not bad.
How did you do all the wires? Did you buy them already organised like that?
Yes it's a wiring kit from Crutchfield. That way you can retain the Amp and steering wheel controls.
My mom wants a new stereo system in her car but could u link the wiring harness from factory to aftermarket!

@@CousinCleatus can u send the link plz I have no sound and can’t figure it out

@Braddapainter did the wire harness bring back sound? I'm going through the same issue as of now
Yep
What did you do with the van lo and hi lines? I assume those go to the crux box.
No the crux box had its own harness and clipped onto the factory harness. They are still open to hook up any external amplifiers.
How did you install the steering wheel interface I’m having a hard time locating the correct wire layout to get my steering wheel control

Do you have to have that for sound ?

Ended up getting a boss head unit. As far as the harness, I just got the one that Crutchfield said I needed for this car.
where did you get the Harnas adaptor?
Crutchfield website
Can you post the link for the steering wheel control please. Thanks
I will post it int he description too. www.crutchfield.com/p_249HK65S/Crux-SWRHK-65S-Wiring-Interface.html
Great video, I can't find the harness on Crutchfield.

What size is the radio?
It is a 6.75 I believe. If you use Crutchfields website it will tell you based on you specific model what will fit and any parts you'd need.
Where did you get the frame part around the radio?
It didn't need one. It fit right around the standard 7" radio
what was the issue after the first installation with no sound?
Had to replace the wiring harness. The box was bad.
Can you post the amazon Link for the stereo? Thanks!

What year is this Kia Soul?
2010
Does it work with any kind of Bluetooth or just apple
It works with Bluetooth, Apple play and Android auto.
Only the speaker on the dashboard works and the rest is off. What is the reason?
I'd say loose connection or you got a bad harness.
Anyone know if same on a 2009 soul?
I didn't think they started making souls until 2010. But yes it would be the same.
Anyone know why only the front middle speaker has sound
It would be the wiring adapter itself probably
Do you have a link to radio?

Why didn't you just solder the cable to the back of the auxiliary plug that came with the car?
Didn't want to take a chance on this cheap head unit.
Umm...🤔🤔I think you did it Wrong!?😳🤷🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️🤣🤣
Still works perfect
