awesome video! One other thing I’ve found when shooting surfing is putting it in 4:3 instead of 16:9 because It gives you a lot more field of view and can re crop afterwards

I have the official GoPro mouth mount, and it feels better on my teeth than the ones that use scuba mouthpieces.

If I like the surfboard mounted angle, can I get by without the Max Lens Mod? Will the standard lens on the GoPro mounted to the front of the board be wide enough to see my whole body and some of the background?
Indeed you dont need the Max Lens mod to get that full angle - the main advantage is the fact it'll allow you to horizon level the whole clips
What swim stroke do you use when sitting in the lineup while holding floaty stick? Is it hard to swim holding the stick? Do you have any additional floatation?
If I’m swimming with the GoPro and floaty handle I’ll have fins on as well so I use them to move around, sometimes doing backstroke with one arm if I need a bit of extra speed. I generally shoot wearing a wetsuit which provides a bit of floatation but still allows me to easily swim under waves too
If you surf with the hand held stick, I don't understand where you hold it when you're paddling into a wave.
The selfie stick one is a tricky one for sure! Some people bite it (not advised) but the times I’ve used it I’ve tucked it into the chest zip of my wetsuit 🤙
Do you turn record 100% of the time when entering to water or do you start record when it comes the wave? My GoPro 10 Black records 45 minutes and it gets very hot.
I start and stop mine throughout the session and also turn it off occasionally if I’m chilling or paddling back out 🤙
I like the floaty handle, but how do you paddle with it?
Its not the easiest option - I usually either bite is as I paddle out, or tuck it into the chest zip of my wettie is its wetsuit season!

How far away can a GoPro record from? Could you put it on the beach and record out to the ocean?
It has a pretty wide field of vision so stuff does need to be pretty close, even on linear mode. Certainly wouldn’t be leaving it on the beach to record your session
Can I use the dive case with the floaty case? Does it fit or is it to thick for the floaty to fit around the dive case
Unfortunately the floaty case won’t fit around the dive housing, but you can buy some third party options which glue to the sides to give it some float 🤙

How do you paddle into a wave with a floaty handle?
Two main options I’ve played around with - first is biting the handle, although not the best idea! The other way I’ve used it is having it tucked into the chest zip of my wetsuit 🤙
Do you have anything on the GoPro 12?
Unfortunately not as I still haven’t upgraded. Much of it should remain the same though but you’ll have access to higher resolution and framerate options 🤙
How do you pop up with the floaty handle ?
Best option I’ve found is either tuck it into the side of your chest zip wetsuit or simply bite it whilst you paddle! Not the easiest but you can get some fun angles with it for sure 🤙
@@StokedForTravel cheers mate. I'm not a big fan of using my teeth on any of the GoPro mounting options so I'm trying to come up with some other good options for POV. Do you think a chest mount or head mount(under a hood) could work?
@@yeahnah8268 fair enough! Yeah the chest mount could work, or the head mount option too. Tuck it into your wettie and pulling it out once you've popped up is also a solid choice
Any advice for sunglasses for surfing?
Not too sure Kamal on that front, there are a few options for straps for normal sunglasses though 😎
