I can’t believe Abe’s vid was shot with a hero one. Blows my mind, I now see just how much power there is in the skill of post editing. Dude, I have so much mad respect for you Abe. This inspires me to do better with my hero 9. Zadia that was a dope vid and incredible quality being your 1st edit. Having said that, Abe won.
Resolution was honestly the main difference between the two for me, but absolutely shocked at how well the original footage looked. Well done to both of you, they were both amazing!
Honestly I gotta say while the hero 1 doesn’t have the best quality on the market today you can still get some amazing landscape shots like no other especially with that vintage look it’s absolutely stellar
Hi Abe, just wanted to let you know that your channel has been my go-to for gopro edit tips since your USC days, it is amazing to see how far you and Gopro have come, please keep doing what you are doing!
Transition at 14:06 wassssss dooooopppe. Angles are such a nice way to add variety and excitement to the video !!!!! Both did awesome. I mean I’d like to be able to have the skill to make not so good footage great but at the same time I wouldn’t wanna have to do it all the time. Lol
Wow you did an amazing job with the H1. Amazed with the quality, shows what is possible with good post processing. Well done to Zadia and her first video too!
Those were both amazing edits. Zadia's edit was spectacular for a first time, outstanding edit and filming. I approach music selection on Musicbed the same way, have an idea and just start listening to see what sparks inspiration. Abe, the quality out of the HD Hero was impressive. Most of the shots were quite impressive and you really made the weaknesses into visual strengths.
Both edits were awesome! Cannot believe how well Zadia did for her first edit, but the quality you got out of the original Hero was insane! Great work and very inspiring!
Not to ride the fence, but both impressive videos for different reasons. Zadia’s shows what a novice can do with a little direction; great video for first time effort. Abe’s experience came through with the in-camera transitions and rapid tempo going from clip to clip. It really shows short, quick shots are more exciting. Both captured the spirit of your trip.
Zadia: you SMASHED it!! Abe: I mean I shouldn’t be surprised but you could make footage from a cardboard box look awesome. It definitely shows how important story, good editing, and thinking about your shots is more important than the gear itself
Zadia had a great edit for her first time. Definitely has a future in it. Abe... what can I say... Its a Kislevitz classic awesomeness. You two rocked it.
Love the idea of this vid! Amazing edits! Zadia’s definitely rockin’ that swag - natural vlogger, soon-to-be GoPro editor!! Also- this proves that it’s not just about the equipment when it comes to filmmaking! 🙌🏻🙌🏻
We love the video! Wow Zadia did really amazing for her first video. 👍👍 We also like how you were able to make the old gopro look so good. Bloopers at the end is funny. 😂😂
Both were great but Abe’s production values are off the chart. The bottom line though, how awesome is it that the average person has access to a camera with this much technology and capability. Great video!
It was really cool to see how you each filmed your videos - the quality and editing for the hero 1 was so impressive! Both the videos turned out great!
Zadia wins on music choice...but one does not lose a video competition to a rookie when you have that experience. The “artsy fartsy” shows ha. That being said Zadia’s edit still blows any of mine out of the water. Great video guys!
Duuuuudeee y'all killed it. Absolutely loved the editing but those creative angles were super cool. Definitely inspired me to try to be more creative. Awesome vid!
She won. :-) and I am surprised you were able to get such good quality, views and smooth video out of the HD Hero. I think I preferred her video as the clips ran longer between transitions. Sometimes quick transitions in an action videos can be visually jarring as there is already so much for your eyes to track.
Wow amazing I almost cried. Fo real. I plan to be more creative like you someday. Really great transitions and moments chosen and just how they go so well together. Wow just wow. I want to learn from you.
Love both the edits. But there is something so amazing in the raw material from the original gopro. Love to see how you do youre post production. Wizard stuff. 🤙🤙🤙 Keep them videos coming. I love it🤟🤘🤙
The HD HERO quality is so much better than what I remember. Also, there is something really nostalgic about a shaky, blurry, horribly compressed, flat and color boosted wide angle bad resolution action video paired with some dubstep electronic music. It just gives me the early 2010s vibes, when GoPros were only becoming popular and you were the biggest boss of the whole universe if you had one.
Both videos were great! I’ve never been so excited about using a GoPro again like I’m now. Just bought my hero 9 and I hope I can capture the moments like you do Abe. Keep the videos coming! 👌🏻
Great videos as always. It is the person behind the camera that counts most, not the gear. You have the storytelling eye and knows every tips and tricks refarding video editing. But it’s easier to get good footage with better gear. Keep up the good work, both of you.
Super cool to see the different perspectives! Amazing to see what your creativity can do with the older GoPro but at the same time how the newer Tech can help the newbie 💪🏼
Abe makes a awesome storytelling and editing, and the hero camera gives a cool vintage look. But Zadia was insane for a first time with the camera and editing, really amazing work!
This was really cool we only vlog with GoPro's. We have a 6, 2 7's, and an 8. On our last ski trip, they were giving us so many fits. Our 8 kept freeze frame but recording the sound on almost all the footage one day.
Do I have to chose!?! Haha so sick, both of them, but I really liked the timeline for Abes vid as it started from parking lot, lift, then the action. Music was better and lined up super nice with the footy on Z's edit. Yew you both win lol 😆
Unfair competition bro - skiing makes such a better platform for filming on than snowboarding when it comes to stability and movement🏂 we always have the skiers in our group film when given a choice for this reason 😂
Hahah yeah, we edited with proxies the whole time and I thought the quality was similar until I finally watched it exported in 4K. I was like woah 9 looks like real life and HERO1 looks like a potato.
This is 🔥 Congrats to Zadia✌🏻 First time editing a Video and it turns out this good 🤯 and amazing what Abe can do with the original Hero 🙏🏻 Loved the Idea and the results:)
Wow amazing edits 💯 Gotta especially love the creative transitions at 12:44, 14:06, and 14:18 Shoutout to Musicbed as well! Such a legitimate platform for finding applicable songs for your edits 💪
I was shooting on a Hero 3 last summer before upgrading to the 8. Stabilization makes such a big difference. Awesome editing by the both of you! I think it's a tie.
Thanks! This was a pleasure to watch! TBH I liked Zadia's edit better even though you had nice features in yours. I guess resolution and "relaxiness" of hers got my vote. But it's nice to see that if you are able you can make something great out of 10y old action camera :D I haven't seen all of your posts but have you made one with modern camera and editing tips the app? I guess that's where most of us are (forced) going to..
Having said that, Abe won.
not only post, but capturing and the angles and perspective the "lens" is in.
This was epic! Some real OG vibes with your edit and the frustrations of changing modes on the H1 had me 🤣🤣
Chris you can do something similar bru
Abe could shoot on a potato and turn it into a cinematic masterpiece. Surprisingly not surprised at how epic BOTH videos turned out!
The quality of Abe's Hero HD video looks better than my hero 7 videos before RUclips compression, hooow🤯
You can always faux upscale your videos to trick RUclips into using a higher bit rate. Works great.
Export at 60fps for higher bitrate
Impressive shots and edit on that HD Hero! 👏 👏
Thanks Ben! It was a fun throwback to work with the footage - also super fast to edit with 🤯 no HEVC 4K was nice.
hi! can u both great person notice or heartmycomment? im a fan!
My humble conclusion: technic is not the issue but making an interesting story! You both did that great.
Resolution was honestly the main difference between the two for me, but absolutely shocked at how well the original footage looked. Well done to both of you, they were both amazing!
Abe once again proving he is the GoPro whisperer. Wonderful job by Zadia too!
Such a fun and cute video to watch. Thanks so much for sharing with us Abe, looking forward to the next one!
Holy Moly, got goosebumps at 14:06
Insane edits, both of them!
Dear Abe
Thank you for taking up the issue, it is good to know that someone at GoPro is listening and trying to encourage improvement in the app.
Paul
Ahhhhhhh and the snow pow transition @ 14:19!!! Love it
this is one reasons i am always fascinated with this man Abe....
Transition at 14:06 wassssss dooooopppe. Angles are such a nice way to add variety and excitement to the video !!!!! Both did awesome. I mean I’d like to be able to have the skill to make not so good footage great but at the same time I wouldn’t wanna have to do it all the time. Lol
So cool! Abe, your experience and skills are epic! Zadia, congrats, wow!
Abe, you are that dude!¡! Awesome job homie🔥💪🏾🙏🏾
Wow you did an amazing job with the H1. Amazed with the quality, shows what is possible with good post processing.
Well done to Zadia and her first video too!
Your transitions are crazy. Great video. Inspiring

Most of the shots were quite impressive and you really made the weaknesses into visual strengths.
I especially love the backlight-overexposed part that make the person looks like an angel. Most epic scene in my opinion. 14:04
Both edits were awesome! Cannot believe how well Zadia did for her first edit, but the quality you got out of the original Hero was insane! Great work and very inspiring!

That was brilliant! Great idea. Adding to my next shot list for sure! Thanks you two!

Zadia had a great edit for her first time. Definitely has a future in it. Abe... what can I say... Its a Kislevitz classic awesomeness. You two rocked it.
Nice work Zadia. Not too bad for first-timer filmmaking and editing. There are some great shots there.
Love the idea of this vid! Amazing edits! Zadia’s definitely rockin’ that swag - natural vlogger, soon-to-be GoPro editor!!

they are both great edits, incredible what you have done with such an old camera

It was really cool to see how you each filmed your videos - the quality and editing for the hero 1 was so impressive! Both the videos turned out great!
Sick video! Congrats to both of you! 🙌🏻 a lot of memories came back while seeing the GoPro Hero 1 put to use again.
Zadia wins on music choice...but one does not lose a video competition to a rookie when you have that experience. The “artsy fartsy” shows ha. That being said Zadia’s edit still blows any of mine out of the water. Great video guys!
Dope as always Abe! Pretty impressed with Zadia’s editing feeling. You should hire her! 😁 That’s potential!
Hahah yeah she doesn’t know what she just got herself into 😈
@@abekislevitz hahahah love that!
@@abekislevitz please tell that you used gopro colour profile or flat colours. How to get those great colours???
@@Justsachin gopro color for everything except the indoor shots were flat
@@abekislevitz thank you so much 🤗
what a legend! proved that its not the tool, its how you use it.
Duuuuudeee y'all killed it. Absolutely loved the editing but those creative angles were super cool. Definitely inspired me to try to be more creative. Awesome vid!

Great video idea guys! I enjoyed both edits. Well done 👏
I am totally blown away by your hd hero edit Abe! Just didn't expect it to look so cool compared to hero 9. Great video 👍
Your editing skills are just insane, Abe. Amazing. Would love to see you taking us through an editing process
Wow amazing I almost cried. Fo real. I plan to be more creative like you someday. Really great transitions and moments chosen and just how they go so well together. Wow just wow. I want to learn from you.
Great education in in camera transition and the use of b-roll! Awesome to see both!

Amazing! You’ll have a blast, as you can see it’s pretty easy to get great results !
There's something about the Hero HD footage I LOVE!!! It's so OG. Sick video guys!
Great videos as always. It is the person behind the camera that counts most, not the gear. You have the storytelling eye and knows every tips and tricks refarding video editing. But it’s easier to get good footage with better gear. Keep up the good work, both of you.

This was awesome! Truly inspiring and a testament that gear doesn't matter.
This format is so cool! Quality! OG VIBES ! Love the lens flares on the H1
Abe makes a awesome storytelling and editing, and the hero camera gives a cool vintage look. But Zadia was insane for a first time with the camera and editing, really amazing work!
This was an interesting video to show! Insane how your skills made the hero 1 footage look dope!
BRO! Bloody loved watching this journey
Bad ass!!! Totally put some great ideas in my head and seeing the differences and capabilities changes everything!
Men this really gets to me. This shows that it's not about the gear at all! I really needed this video at this specific moment. Thank!
Yayayayay sooooo fun!!! Nice job, Zadia on your first edit!!!
Thank youuuu christopher! :)
I don't have a good english but... Impressive. The conclusion is simple : no need the last gadget to do a good job ! Soooo GOOD JOB !
Great work!! Merry Christmas and now you have set me on a task to see just what I can do with my 7 Black!!
Enjoyed both end products. Great shots in each. Tough to beat experience and know-how though! My vote is for Abe’s video.
it turned out more surprising than I had expected, damn! That gopro 1 edit is lit!
This was really cool we only vlog with GoPro's. We have a 6, 2 7's, and an 8. On our last ski trip, they were giving us so many fits. Our 8 kept freeze frame but recording the sound on almost all the footage one day.
Awesome video! The HD still gives great results and Zadia did a great job! Impressive for a first one ;)
Abe your shots-edit brings back the USC ski vibes way back when 🙌🏼 haha
Gosh… you both are awesome!! What a talent!
Great episode. Enjoyed it from the beginning until the end!
Thanks for watching !
wow ... incredible what you got out of the original GoPro. Both videos are amazing!!!
First one is really good, the second is better in storytelling. Seems that you shared the ideas as both are very similar. Nice! ... 😀👍
Awesome shots and editing. Perfect music.
Ciao from Thailand.
Nice work on getting the OG to turn out great. Nice work on both videos you two.
I don't wanna say this but Abe's version of the montage got me chills! Zadia you're awesome 😀
Brings back memories for sure! First GoPro really changed skydiving when it arrived, went from a big Sony to that!
I bet! Haha yes definitely a nostalgic feel to the footage!
wow what a video! I was completely lost in it until it finished and I remembered I was on RUclips haha. Wow! :D
Do I have to chose!?! Haha so sick, both of them, but I really liked the timeline for Abes vid as it started from parking lot, lift, then the action. Music was better and lined up super nice with the footy on Z's edit. Yew you both win lol 😆
Both was so good, I couldn’t choose!!!
You both are so nice. Was fun to watch
Both edits were awesome! love u guys nice team !!
Thanks for Musicbed Code ! Great video Abe ! Congrats for Zadia !!!
Anytime! Thanks for tuning in
Another banger. So fun.
His hero1 footage blew my mind. Both made a great video but Abe's video had a very connected storyline kinda feel to it.
Unfair competition bro - skiing makes such a better platform for filming on than snowboarding when it comes to stability and movement🏂 we always have the skiers in our group film when given a choice for this reason 😂
Real winners = us. Thanks for always producing great content!
Awesome stuff guys. Well played
So sick! Both edits were awesome but quality on Hero 9 is DRAMATICALLY better...wow!
Hahah yeah, we edited with proxies the whole time and I thought the quality was similar until I finally watched it exported in 4K. I was like woah 9 looks like real life and HERO1 looks like a potato.
lovely vid and I enjoyed every minute of watching it!
This is 🔥 Congrats to Zadia✌🏻 First time editing a Video and it turns out this good 🤯 and amazing what Abe can do with the original Hero 🙏🏻 Loved the Idea and the results:)

Still love the OG look of that original hero 😍
Zadia nailed it with those slomo shots!
I was shooting on a Hero 3 last summer before upgrading to the 8. Stabilization makes such a big difference. Awesome editing by the both of you! I think it's a tie.
Stunning work!
This was so fun! :)
