hope this is helpful to those who are interested in the filming side of things! happy to answer any questions or further share my experience with the cameras.
And this is exactly why I will always say, that you are so underrated for what you do. You’re the KING of RUclips, you grind so much and you do it for us! Bro we love what you do for us, we’re so STOKED all the time and you’re blowing us all away with the content you produce!!!🔥 w video, w person! You’re such a G!👌🏽
broo i really appreciate that. definitely cant take the king title by any stretch but im just happy to be able to share these videos. stay stoked bro i appreciate you.
Speaking of filming gear, considering that you're a cinematographer, have you ever considered making some videos on filming and your general workflow with videos?
I bought the Tiffen ND filters and really looking forward to using them. A video on analysis of ND filters would be really cool. These camera gear vids are really awesome as I really enjoy videography, but have yet to really get into it. You’re a huge inspiration for me, dude!
Thanks for the video! I recently bought a GoPro max and I noticed a fair amount of distortion on the edges. Do you do anything in premiere pro or the GoPro quick app to correct it? Thanks again.
Lucas, a bunch of my friends and I are going to copper mountain the second week of January. Are you planning to stop there anytime soon? Would be super awesome to run into you!
Like you said, it’s easy to forget how much truly goes into your vids. Kudos Lucas as always! Also, cancelled the patreon so I can show my love through your original stoke squad link on YT. Where is that? Does it have to be from a desktop/laptop? Happy holidays my friend!
Excuse me if I missed it in the video, but how much does the loaded pack weigh? Impressive that you’re throwing 360s with all that equipment on your back.
Hey Lucas, I was thinking about attaching a GoPro adhesive mount to my helmet and am wondering if you’ve had any issues with the mount falling off. I’m just nervous the adhesive doesn’t stick enough and the camera falls off. Thanks man!
nah never had any issues. heat the adhesive up with a lighter before sticking it and let it sit for 12 hours before bringing it in the cold and you should be fine.
Curious. Don’t want to stir up a mess. But, curious what you or other folks here think of GP vs Insta360? The latter seems to be getting a lot of buzz of late.
Fell on my canon on hard pack “ice in the west” thought I hurt my back for a minute. Now iPhone pro max and have been playing with the moment anamorphic. It is good but the canon is better.
I would only recommend the GoPro max if you have experience with editing and use adobe premiere pro + fx reframe plug-in. If not, the GoPro 12+ max lens mod 2.0 is super solid for pov.
Always appreciate these videos! You've gotta do one for video editing. Just let the camera roll while you edit and make it 4 hours long LOL. Maybe special live stream edition?
No hate. Both are great cameras - the GoPro is just better image quality. I also support their story as a company and appreciate the athletes they endorse and content they have put out over the years.
How do you know when you're recording? I've always found that it's hard to tell when you're gopro is recording or when it's not recording, especially when it's on your head.
hope this is helpful to those who are interested in the filming side of things!

I like the side of the mountain candid aspect of this overview! Always cool seeing behind the scenes of what goes into making these videos!
Speaking of filming gear, considering that you're a cinematographer, have you ever considered making some videos on filming and your general workflow with videos?
thats a good idea. i think thats a good followup video.
Just got a GoPro this morning as a gift. Stoked to use the gear in this vid
I bring a cheap pair of glove liners and put my spare batteries inside them and sometimes even throw a hand warmer in that pocket.
This is crazy... I was literally just watching your old camera gear video. Perfect timing. Hope your all good dude
Love to hear that man. Hope it was helpful.
Thank you for this! I know you used to have one of the OG gopro backpacks! Are the new ones not too bulky to wear on the lift?
Lucas you crushed it with this video. I'll be in PC next week and want to bring my Fuji and GoPro Max on the mountain.
thanks sarah! have fun in PC!
Another excellent and informative episode!
thank you bro!
Thank you for this...when you replied I wasn't 't using a drone....this vlog explained....you are really a talented cinimetographer...
yup no drones here

thanks liam! theres definitely a lot of videos on ND filters in general, but maybe i will do one positioned more towards skiing specifically.
@@LucasCatania17 for sure! One more skiing focused would be awesome! That’s what I’ll be using them for anyway!
Another great video! Thanks for taking the time to share some pointers with us all. Nice backdrop too!
heck yeah mark my pleasure!
Thanks for the video! I recently bought a GoPro max and I noticed a fair amount of distortion on the edges. Do you do anything in premiere pro or the GoPro quick app to correct it? Thanks again.
Wonder what a camera mounted to a ski would look like possibly on the short pole ? Could be a funky image
that would be cool! but tough to ski with for sure.
Another Awesome Video Lucas! I'd love to some video editing from your POV.
that seems to be a popular request haha.
i do like the shots you get with that gopro max..
yeah those ones are my favorite!
Lucas, a bunch of my friends and I are going to copper mountain the second week of January. Are you planning to stop there anytime soon? Would be super awesome to run into you!
jan 7-10 i will be in aspen!

i havent weighed it! i would say maybe about 10lbs?

Hey man I just got a hero 12 and the people told me I would need a case to take it to the snow is this true or have I been over sold ?
How does the camera get rid of the pole? its incredible
Great video man!! Always very interested in gear other creators use!! TEAM CANON!! haha
thanks man. i love my canon!
Hey Lucas how do you manage the slow upload/media transfer speeds from the gopro? Love the vids keep crushing it!
i dont upload directly off the gopro if thats what you mean? i have fast SD cards with high write speeds so my data transfers arent really that long!
Curious. Don’t want to stir up a mess. But, curious what you or other folks here think of GP vs Insta360? The latter seems to be getting a lot of buzz of late.
Hey Lucas!! love the footage always from the GoPro360 Max, i was wondering what setting it is you use on the gopro!
thanks!
Settings I use on my max are: 360 mode, 5k/24 fps, iso min 100 iso max 400, auto shutter, 5500wb!
@@LucasCatania17 thanks for the reply!! One more question what app do you use to edit all of your GoPro content ??
Thanks !
Fell on my canon on hard pack “ice in the west” thought I hurt my back for a minute. Now iPhone pro max and have been playing with the moment anamorphic. It is good but the canon is better.
ah yikes my friend! definitely a concern in the back of my mind thats for sure!
Do a video where you just have a go pro hero on ur helmet and just rip and send cliffs
Lucas what u recommend for POV shots, hero + max lens mode or gopro max?
I would only recommend the GoPro max if you have experience with editing and use adobe premiere pro + fx reframe plug-in. If not, the GoPro 12+ max lens mod 2.0 is super solid for pov.

haha yeh that seems like a popular request after this
Any safety equipment given you are often by yourself in the trees?
No just camera gear! Maybe a granola bar if I remember it
Don’t hate me but why do you choose GoPro over the insta 360?
No hate. Both are great cameras - the GoPro is just better image quality. I also support their story as a company and appreciate the athletes they endorse and content they have put out over the years.
I’m too dumb to record anything skiing 😂 but if I did this would be so helpful.
haha! you arent too dumb my friend.
How do you know when you're recording? I've always found that it's hard to tell when you're gopro is recording or when it's not recording, especially when it's on your head.
I take it down before every run, hit record, clean the lens then put it back up on my head!
I love the chest mount for this reason, it's awesome because I can see it on my chest when I'm going down and adjust
awesome, i figured this was the best way to do it. Thanks Lucas@@LucasCatania17
Which mount did you buy? I've been looking for one like this.@@pranavmalavalli5582
I also use the lock on it. I always seem to loose one run a day still.
this video never got sent to me or i was working, dumb.
