  • Today I'm playing the classic song "Pack Up Your Troubles in Your Old Kit-Bag" by the brothers George Henry Powell (1880-1951) and Felix Powell (1878-1942). Written as a morale-boosting marching song during the First World War, the song is worryingly optimistic about the subject of heading off to war.
Pack up your troubles in your old kit-bag
    And smile, smile, smile,
While you've a lucifer to light your fag,
    Smile, boys, that's the style.
    What's the use of worrying?
    It never was worth while
So pack up your troubles in your old kit-bag
    And smile, smile, smile.

That's a particularly nice arrangement and well played.
