AQUARIUM LIGHTING TUTORIAL - PLANTED TANK LIGHTING
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 3 июл 2024
- In this tutorial, we talk about the lights, subjectively. We will show you the ones we use in the Green Aqua Gallery. Please do not expect a very scientific description here, that was not the main point of this video.
You'll hopefully get a good idea on what type of light you need for your planted tank after this. We'll give you recommendations on how many lights you'll need for a bigger tank, how high you should place them, and in what way are T5 tubes different from their LED counterparts.
How about you? What type of light you have on your tank? Which one worked the best for you? Let us know in the comment below!

When you said ‘and why are the aquariums beautiful’ I thought you were gonna say ‘because I scaped it’. Haha great video guys
Haha, well, if I would really think that, there would be big problems with my ego, right? 😇🤪
Haha not at all, you guys a great at scraping!
Wow man you so funny I shit my pants literally!
Yeah he missed his chance lol
That would have been sooo hilarious! At this point I don't think anyone would take you that serious.
I really appreciate it that even if your business is aimed at the big consumers/hobbyists you always never fail to add recommendations for the starting hobbyists. Thank you for being generous with your knowledge!
As a cinematographer, I can't tell you how much I appreciated your video... thank you.
Great tutorial again, this one I had some questions how you choose them with your scapes, but you answered them all. Thanks and looking forward to next weeks vid .
Thanks Ed again, glad you found this useful too. Cheers.
Yes !!! Filter, co2 and finally light, thanks for all.
Please make a separate playlist in your video section of these 3 videos , because they are most basic tips for setting up a planted tank.
Congratulations for 100k subscribers 😁
Will definitely do, thanks so much for the suggestion. Algae guide can go in there too. 🙏🏻💡👍🏻
@@GreenAquaShop yes, definitely!!!
👍🏻Cheers.
I think after all the years I have the tank .am quit sure Strip lightning .is still the best out there
Love the tutorial series. Thanks for sharing and congrats for hitting the 100k mark.
Thanks so much, it's your support that brought the channel to this milestone. Cheers Shawn.
Never heard of some explain this topic so detailed. I very much needed this advice. Thank u so much . Love frm a hobbyist in India 🥰
The shimmering effect you get with the LED is quite beautiful. It is as if you are scuba diving. Magical!
Yepp, shimmering effect is cool!
All your tanks look so amazing wish mine look even a small bit like that.
You will step up too as you do more scapes. 👍
Great video: Helpful and very well done!! Thank you.
Thank you David, appreciate your feedback 👍
I don’t think enough praise is given to you for the lighting of your videos. 20+ years in the business is evident. Your videos are lit perfect. What a joy to watch.
Thanks so much, but I know our flaws, especially by having some experience with pro-level lighting. But we're gonna try to make it better and better with time and to develop the video tech too. Fingers crossed.
I am waitting for my lesson to start, and I see an green aqua upload. I am going to watch it for sure after school!
Oh, cool, always good to hear and picture under what conditions you guys get our videos, thanks for that info. Love it. Cheers. 👍🏻
Imagine being able to describe such a complex topic in another language. Serious skills 👏🏻
Cheers Kris, been struggling at the beginning :)
I loved the tutorial. Thank you for the advices!
Thanks for watching, glad you found it useful. Stay tubed. 🤪
i will buy OK LIGHT❤
Thanks for all the info! Love all your content very educational.
Pure beauty with your videos , inspiration and love for this hobby grows
💚
I’ve seen the two empty aquariums in the gallery😉 I’m looking forward for the new projects here on the channel😎
Well spotted! They're coming up in the next weeks, stay tuned! Cheers. 👍🏻
A BIG Congrats to you guys for achieving the 100k subscribers mark!! I remembered I was awestruck by all the beautiful scapes in your gallery/shop when George made a video of his first visit to your gallery. I'm so glad you have a channel for people like myself to follow, learn and get inspired. I don't normally comment or even give a “Like” to the videos that i watch on RUclips but Green Aqua and George's channel are the only 2 channels that gets the most (i'm not exaggerating here) “Likes” and comments from me. It is a testament to how much i enjoy watching your videos. You guys are definitely bringing more and more people into this hobby with one good video at a time.
Cheers and keep up the excellent work!!
Thanks so much for your kind words, they really mean a lot to us. We appreciate all the positivity that comes from you, keeps us going! Will do our best to earn that attention from you in the future too. Cheers mate.
Love how you speak... interesting video.... information I needed ....
You guys rock. The quality of your videos, the depth and breadth of the advice and its evident to the viewer you love what you do makes for amazing audience engagement. Kudos!
Thanks so much Andrew, much appreciated, really.
“And why are the aquariums beautiful,” because that dude is a pro at scaping
Wait a sec.... this is the first time I ever seen a RUclips channel reply back to so many of there viewers, this is a great channel
Haha, you haven't been spoiled have you? 😅 We're trying our best mate. Thanks for your kindness.
If anyone is having serious algae issues, I highly recommend doing a split timing for your lights. 4 hours on, 2 hours off, 4 hours on.
Great and helpful information!
I like to watch your videos when I need calm and I usually fall asleep. Such nice editing and pro content.
Aaaaah thanks for this video i’ve been waiting for 😁 helpfull as ever !! Another video un my playlist with the « i’ve a gift for you Viktor » 😆
Cheers, glad you found it useful, hope it's not a problem that we kept the scientific stuff away from it. 🤪We don't think a lot about it nowadays, just do what we do and it works for us. 😇
I like when you talk too much🤣🤗💙🌱💙 Love it! As always🤗
Haha, thanks! 👍🏻
Finally 100k subs 👏🏼👏🏼
Very useful!
Finally all your green aqua secrets has been revealed. I have learned a lot from this tutorial series.
Thank u....
You're welcome, glad you found these useful, we tried to keep the scientific parts away from them, as much as possible. Overcomplicating and over-analysing things never helps.
Thank you guys for the always interesting tutorials!
You are welcome, glad you find these useful.
I want to make DIY light so Sir can you specify 6500k with how much Lumen/litre (high light) is best for planted aquarium?
What if you'r leaving the house for one or two days, should i leave the light on or off?? (It is a planted aquarium, with no CO2)
Your lights and Co2 are supposed to be on timer.
My most wanted knowledge...thank you!
Cheers! 🙏🏻👍🏻
Great video! Lots of info and I learn something new with every video! Thanks Green Aqua!
Cool. Thanks for watching and glad you like it Mike.
What water parameters do you prefer in your aquariums?no3,po4,KH,GH,K,Fe,Ca,Mg,pH? 😃
Well, we've got a separate video for that mate, check it out. Cheers.
Ca:Mg:K
2:1:0,5
K shouldn't be too much above 10 mg/L therefore soft-moderate hardness water will yield the best results. Additional fertilization of NO3 and PO4 will be needed for high tech (high light!) tanks with low and very low stock of animals.
Example: Tap water is 20 mg/L Ca, then the ideal Mg is 10 mg/L and 5 mg/L K.
Weekly or even daily fertilization will yield the best results. An estimate for each nutrient can be done with the method of the Estimative Index.
The most precise method is to measure the nutrient consumption with precise drip tests and fertilize daily accordingly.
@@GreenAquaShop video link please :)
Come on now! 😅Water parameters tutorial. How difficult would that be to find? It's like the third video back in time. ruclips.net/video/pnUbjHr7jbU/видео.html
I'm new to this and have had this algae that's covering everything, plants and rocks, in tiny hairs. I trim plants to limit it but what the hell is it and how do I stop it??
Thanks
Please check out our algae video for the answer. Cheers.
Thank you so much for these tutorial videos. I've learned so much with you and love the high quality! And the outtakes are included making it real. Thanks GreenAqua. I personally have a onf square (couldn't drill my ceiling) with the 90cm onf hanging light. I love it. Really clean design.
Yeah, ONF has a clean design indeed. You can always hang a light from a shelf that you put above the tank if you can't drill the ceiling...
Thanks for the term for that light and shadows fight effect. Shimmering light.
The best advice I take : "Be happy with your aquarium..."...Great words! Thank You...It's now time, to go back ...and have more "This not a low budget aquarium"???? hahahaha
Haha thanks Pedro. 😅😎🙏🏻Be happy, yeah. 👍🏻
Too much music but awesome content. It keeps getting loud and I don’t like that they’re singing like Backstreet Boys, etc.. just instrumental and more quietly, same volume as your voice so we don’t have to keep turning it down. Sub’d and liked!
Wonderfully produced video guys, the work is clearly showing and we thank you :)
Thanks for your kind words Colin, glad you appreciate our effort. Cheers.
This video really helped. Thanks!
Glad to read this. :)
Thanks.
you know green aqua is committed when they respond to comments from a video 4 months ago lol. super super inspiring, BEST aquascaping shop and RUclips channel
Haha, we use agorapulse, and that does not distinguish between old and new videos, we answer all comments. Until we can keep up... :)
Thanks for all the effort guys. As usual realy informative and a great look „behind“ your beautiful Tanks.
Cheers, glad you liked this, thanks for the feedback, much appreciated.
Beautiful tanks
Ez egy jó kiegészítés volt a lámpatesztes videóhoz! 👍
Jöszi Márk, örülünk, hogy tetszett!

Was waiting for this. Thank You.

a great video especially for people who are new and intermediate! congrats Balazs and Greenaqua team on reaching 100k subs
Thanks so much, yeah I tried to keep it simple, not too technical. I did not want to look smart.😇
These are the best of the best tutorials..i had ever seen about aquascaping..seriously. ..can learn many thing from you...good luck god bless...
Thanks. :)
This is why we here.
Thank you very much, it is very difficult to find videos that good. Many just want to introduce brands and new technologies, it was the first time that I saw a good video talking about T5 lamps! Thanks again for sharing your knowledge, you helped a Brazilian and a fan of your channel!

Great info! Thank you for sharing! And congratulations on 100K - Little Bobby
Thanks Little Bobby, you support us enormously. Cheers.
Congratulations on bringing you new things like this. The green Aqua channel is a channel that provides a comprehensive knowledge of the really important aquatic environment. These things are a little new experience for Sri Lanka. I kindly request you to kindly help our country to get this technology as well. We have less resources
Some great information, as always. Congratulations on reaching 100K subscribers, very well deserved. 👍
Thanks John, you support us with your comments and encouragements a lot!
play it again and again because I like the transition from Balazs speaking into "Liability" with fresh looking aquascape shown in this video..love it
That is good to read. Cheers!

You're welcome Nándor!

Cheers Mr. Szívesen.
sir il lasitha in sri lanka befor i have no knowledg this art but after the watching u chanal i have a good feeling and knowledge tnz sir
Though good lighting can be expensive, this video is very helpful and very insightful. Thanks for sharing
You're welcome, glad you like our work. We tried to present you with what we use here, including the budget alternatives. But you're right, good equipment costs more (not only in aquascaping).
Another great video guys
Thanks again Sam! 🙏🏻👍🏻
Awesome video. Very informative
Thanks Richard. :)
Lóri
100K. Well done Balazs!!!!. 🎉
Thanks Stephen, but it's happening because of you guys. 💡🙏🏻👍🏻
Very informative video. All my aquariums have led lights on them, for the simple reason that I forget when to replace tubes. Just simplyfies it for me. All of them are low tech so the adjustable intensity helps a lot to controle algae growth.
Yes Pierre, you are absolutely right, that with low-tech the adjustable LED-s are a great solution.
Awe man I soooooo need an excuse to visit green aqua. I need to see those beautiful tanks in person!
Play with us for the 100k giveaway. Who knows... 😉
You are the whole and soul of green aqua😄
Cheers, thanks man.

this tutorial is very amazing!!!!!!!!!
Glad you found it useful, thanks for watching!
Congratulations on the 100k!
Thanks so much, but it's you who helped us get here, your support means the world to us. Cheers.
Excelent like always. I started in the end of the 90's and i prove all the options (tubes, pll, hqi, led etc) and i think you can get excelent even same results with all options, but obviously with modern more efficient options you need less units than before so is more simply . I still love pll and hqi but today finally i accept that LEDs as the most efficient option, they do not need reflectors, thats is an advantage. Saludos from chile, someday i will visit green aqua :) Guillermo Barrientos
Cheers mate, thanks for the very good feedback on what you used. I kinda agree with you, I liked HQI too.
Awesome bro
Cheers bro.
Hi there Balazs, another top video, interesting to know that T5 is still being used successfully in the
" age of LEDS " . There is so much confusion about colour mixes nowadays, thank you for explaining it in simple terms . Thanks as always .👍👏
You're welcome, yeah, that was the main point of this video - to have it simple. Lighting is a no-brainer really, but most will overcomplicate it with PAR reading, color temperature, peaks of all kinds, etc. 😅And if you dig deeper it turns out that everything is about the finance, really. Which is okey, but it creates a lot of confusion. Also, I don't want to know what inputs and outputs the onboard computer of my car has (Tommy would of course. 🤪), I just want to know weather it's reliable and would take me where I want it to go and that it's comfortable and maybe even fast... 😇
Hi Very helpful great video
Cheers.
nice video here, green aqua! thanks for your tutorials, it always help so much for beginner like me.
and congratulation for 100k subs, i'll wait for your next and next after next video :D
