  • I didn't do a lot of preparation for this, so the narration is very rambly, but it gets the gist of just showing that this works and is very easy to get going. If you need a tutorial on how to set the emulator up, there are numerous video guides already on RUclips for that. Also, I'd probably recommend using PCSX2 version 1.6 for wheel stuff because even though you need to manually acquire the USB plugin that has the wheel support, it seems to be more stable and doesn't crash like 1.7 does.

    I've had a massive problem for a long time now with both of these games where my wheel oscillates like hell and makes them literally unplayable. Have you found a fix? I'm also on a T300 RS GT.
    I've found that NFS Carbon is impeccable at 360 degrees or less; the oscillation is so weak you don't even feel it most of the time, and the FFB in that game in general is amazing. My second favorite NFS game U2, however, suffers from a VERY SEVERE oscillation problem when the wheel is straight; even with FFB at 50%, it's so damn strong that if I lose concentration for 1 second I'll spin out even on the most FWD understeer bias car possible.

      I haven't had that issue with the FFB strength, and unfortunately very few games back then had in-game options to neutralize such things. My theory is that perhaps the Logitech wheels had a variable Spring setting or similar which wasn't visibly exposed to the player, but was set on a game-by-game basis automatically. When I recorded this, I probably had that setting and/or the damper set low or turned off, so maybe that might have something to do with it? It's also possible that newer revisions of the emulator have once again mucked up the wheel emulation. I've been planning on making a PS2 Wheel Support Demo Reel with around 20+ games in one video, give or take, and several NFS games are on that list for my testing, so I'll get around to that pretty soon.

      @@Housesider Yeah, that's probably the case as I've found turning the damper down significantly reduces the oscillation but in turn it makes the other PS2 era FFB effects far more brutal for some reason. If you want a showcase for how the plugin can work well, I point you to NFS carbon again. Worked perfectly with both PCSX2 and the wheel plugin with very minor tweaks and the FFB in my experience actually adds to the experience instead of making you instantly turn it off like in MW

    Do you have ffb issues using the nightly build?

    • @Housesider
      @Housesider  Год назад +2

      Yes. FFB is very intermittent or outright nonfunctional seemingly at random in the 1.7xxx nightly builds, and has been for a few years now, unfortunately. It was fairly stable in 1.6 but that is such an ancient version of the emu compared to what we have now that I just can't go back, hah.

      @@Housesider appreciate the reply, I've been on Reddit and the pcsx2 forums trying to find a solution that could possibly fix it, and yes agreed lol

    I’m on the t300 rs gt. I’ve had an issue when configuring the wheel, where whenever I steer, it doesn’t register the input on the configuration menu. I’m on 1.6 and I’m using the qemu wheel plugin.

      I had that same exact issue, and don't quite remember what exactly I did besides making sure I put the wheel to full lock on either side when trying to map, and repeatedly trying the different versions of wheels in the plugin until it decided to detect suddenly. If all else fails, try running the emulator as an admin.

      @@Housesider Thank you so much for the reply! I was able to get it working on the 1.7 nightly build of pcsx2. When binding the steering inputs I fully locked it and held it to that side I wanted to bind and it worked.
