You can go even further beyond with this Max. You can set the CPU level 8 to also have 5 stars of Handicap, giving it health regen, three times damage, less damage taken, and infinite meter. You can turn this into an SNK Boss and farm out a Boss Rage.
*Edit:* Bonus Boss, fighting Luke like stated above too.
If Max goes even further beyond, he’ll become a Super saiyan 3.
good prep for fighting Daigo
honestly thats makign every character gone boss rage
should be fun for content
That sounds glorious!😂
Madness!!!
If Level 8 actually stays this hard in the full game, I am both intrigued and terrified of how Arcade runs will go at max difficulty.
Can’t wait to have Justin Wong suffer against the final boss
Then you'll get your challenge. Just like the AI in the Devil May Cry series because capcom's AI is VERY VERY challenging.
@@TheREALHugo4 You ain't lying. I LOVE the DMC Franchise to Hell and Back, but DAWG, that DMD and Hell and Hell AI can be fucking disgusting!
@@pyromaniacforhire They want to push your limits in devil may cry and achievement-wise, dmc 4 is the hardest of all.
@@TheREALHugo4 The amount of time I spent playing Vergil's DMD in DMC4SE is ridiculous. It was so goddamned fun (especially since Vergil's combo potential in that game is near limitless and so SATISFYING to pull off)~ Vergil and Lady were my absolute faves, and Lady needs to come back as a playable character in a future game~
CPU level 8 Ryu is just lore accurate Ryu

I dont want to find out what CPU level 8 Akuma can do ...

Imagine making it all the way through the million dollar tournament and your last opponent is Lvl 8 Ryu.
That's Mortal Kombat levels of nightmare fuel of tournament win requirements. 🤣🤣🤣
Funny but Momochi recently best level 8 with ease
@@ivaerz4977 beat
Yo, imagine after every tournament there's a character reveal, the champion plays the Lv 8 CPU of that character for a bonus prize!
@@Alex_Logan22 Thug Finals should be way more normalized
Max: takes a round
The CPU: "and I took that personally" *PERFECT K.O.*
@NecOwOArc chill Thanos
Every boss rage needs a quarter counter from now on. Great bit from the editor.
Honestly I'm glad that the cpu can be so hard now. Even of people don't have online or paid subscriptions, they can still play and practice high level matches against the cpu. Simply just allows more stuff for people to do besides online play
Yea ...growing up the friends I had never care for fighting games but I alway wanted to show my gains lol...so I would rank up the cpu to high lvl and had a blast ...I don't see myself nowadays playing rank in any MP games (giant sp backlog) but it's nice 2 see how nuts SF6 cpu can be ..
@@11d3adly11 same
Yeah, after the nonsense that was the DBFZ AI I'm so happy when the CPU is an impressive fighter. Battle for the grid also has a splendid AI
Learned to master characters back in the day fighting hard CPUs for hours on end. Playing against optimized comps give the opportunity to optimize certain aspects of your own game as long as it's balanced against human play.
The cpu is reading your inputs.... how is that good for training you little monkey????
This is what it feels like when you start a fighting game years after release and everyone knows the sauce.
That actually sounds like the best description. The AI knows exactly what it can do with it's resources, exactly how far it's attacks extend, has perfect frame data memory. No human is quite that precise, but veteran players, especially with time, approach that level of muscle memory knowledge and decision making speed.
Facts! I remember picking up Ultra SF 4 on PS3 years after it came out and I got mopped by every beginner rank online
Skullgirls PTSD
Exactly! That was me and MvC3. 😂
This is why I'm playing SF6 day one, I've had this happen too many times lol
Lmao that transition to Tom was hilarious 🤣
The editing in this video was godlike.
It's so cool to see a fighting game cpu actually doing cool and optimal combos and crazy conversions. So many games have just made their hard cpu's by making them just have more health and more damage, which just doesn't feel very fun. This makes it feel closer to the experience of an actual match, (despite some input reading), and makes it more fun to try new things against a dummy opponent who will actually punish you and show you the best combos
It also shimmies out of hits and grabs
@@Urd-Vidan Wouldn't be fun if it weren't a little cheap. That little element of cheapness is enough to spur players to keep at it and keep growing. Can actually come to appreciate the cheapness after optimizing your own playstyle to a certain degree because you can more readily see what's physically possible and what's just absurd.
@@Urd-Vidan Dude the way the AI alternates between shimmy, throw loops and MEATIES oh my god i cannot guess, the best case scenario is throw tech 😭
@@Urd-Vidan stuff like that is kind of fun to play against. Playing high level CPU’s is gonna be different than players so some of the cheap stuff is different but it certainly teaches you what options you have that are actually good punishes, safe, or what have you. The shimmy is annoying but until we get really customizable difficulty in AI options we have to live with it (personally I’d love sliders for like, combo optimization and conversion rates, input reading/reaction times (it would be so cool if you could make your training AI consistently have a reaction speed so you can practice untrue but unreactable options), etc)
I’m curious - what game has the most difficult CPU, of the ones that don’t give stat boosts (I.e. equal playing field besides input reading). This definitely seems up there. Smash bros Kazuya is up there too…
Can you only imagine fighting CPU level 8 Akuma?....
I'm genuinely scared
Raging Demon for days to come.
Gee... thanks for preemptively giving me nightmares...
Im more scared of Marisa
Imagine if they did the kof xv thing and introduce cpu only bosses like shin akuma.
Like cyber akuma.
10:25 I love Max's responses to himself doing the worst punish to a wiff uppercut
Even the in game ryu agrees
Boss rage against all the cast on launch? Yes please!
I get the strong impression that Gief will be the ultimate wall to climb.
Dalsim 😀
And there is a classic arcade mode this time, the content , oh all the content
Boss rage: Level 8 arcade mode on Street Fighter 6
This was a pure joy to watch. This was essentially a Boss Rage, lol.
Bit of a Quarters Up as well
I hope they don't tone down the cpu. This has been a good challenge to learn the game. For me at least, it's given me so many ideas
Since I'm gonna have a pocket Ryu this game, the cpu is giving me great combo ideas.
As a Luke main, the cpu is a great teacher.
Like Bowser said "pain is the best teacher"
They may turn it down only for story mode since here you can just turn it down yourself.
Like say you get to a new chapter and this 1 character you have to beat is just absolutely curbstomping you.
if you think about it its like training with your friends or frendlys
Everyone talking about the Tom scream, and that was super funny, but the thing that got me was the cut from the CPU Ryu's death glare to normal Ryu's oblivious blink at 0:53 😂
Normal Ryu be like I'm scared 😢
My funniest part is the one right after the scream.
Max: “You donkey-kicking B- *Zangief laugh*”
Man. Ryu SF6 combos look insane and very fun to execute. Not to mention it does a ton of damage as well
They gave Ryu the real sauce on this one.
Ryu is always top tier at launch then gets nerfed into an average character over time. Happened both of the last SF's
@@splinter360 Considering Ryu became such a garbage in SF5, I think Capcom is trying to fix him up in SF6. I doubt they gonna screw him again this time.
@@Cosmoman78 Yup redemption for both him an Ken
@@SPACECOWBOY705 ken doesnt need redemption he's been good, better than ryu atleast in pretty much every single patch.
The og voice of Tom really went hard with that scream. Even Max's can only come close, and that's with voice modding. Man had the most raw yell humanity might ever hear.
The wild thing is, "this is how good you can be, why aren't you as good as me" type of unfair. This is all just insane and I'm loving it.
Except for the frame 1 fireball jump and the counter Ink Attack frame 0.
From a programming perspective, it seems like the AI is finally utilizing frame data in real time instead of just using pre-determined decision trees. It is nice to see the CPU walking around instead of just standing and countering.
Throw some AI training and flaws into the gameplay and it could be revolutionary.
Part of me wonders if some AI model based on an analysis of millions of matches was created for this Level 8 CPU. It's just way too intelligent in a way that seemingly has never been done before.
Ryu makes me want to main just due to his level 3. I love when he says “What’s wrong? Get up!” It’s a dumb reason but he’s just like ready for the fight to continue and I love it
No I get you I live for those fighting game quotes it's what makes me want to try Luke and plenty of others back in Marvel 3
All the characters ive mained are because of their personality, im with you on this
Bro, his freaking drive rush is hilarious. Just “AN OPENING!!!” Like he can’t control himself when someone leaves themselves open, like a dog with a bone.
You’re just casually sparing and learning from him and then you drop your guard, ready to take a break, (AN OPENING!!) and Ryu just unintentionally wreaks your life practically on auto pilot.
He now has that Kiryu effect. He’s one of the more serious characters in the franchise but because of his voice and mannerisms, he comes off like a complete goofball and I love it.
There are no dumb reasons, my friend. You may love a fighting game character for whatever reason the same way we all look for strength for our own reasons. Nothing is ridiculous and everything is about your enjoyment whatever gets people into fighting games wins you’re looking at a guy who purchased tekken 7 just because of Miguel’s personality and finishing move
I NEED to see the rest of the cast's level 8 versions!
Guile is crazy op
Zangief might even scarier.
Akuma lvl 8 YIKES
KENNN
JP WOULD BE IMPOSSIBLE TO BEAT, LOLOLOLOLOLOL.
Nah I’m stealing all the CPU tech! Also, Brunty went ham with the editing!
Also for those curious. Ryu's B.HP in this game also functions as a re-stand/re-ground tool, to hand H. Donkey Kick also. Good for big damage, and set-ups for Denjin charge
Holy... As a newbie I can see there's so much depth combo and gameplay wise in this game, kinda scary but also exciting
i have no clue how to combo in sf games lol. I play guilty gear strive and the combos are pretty easy to start and execute, and it's easy to tell which moves combo into eachother, but sf has me baffled
@@Absorbantsame here man cant even get through the tutorial lmao
Timing is so tight i am just not fast enough 😢
@@stealthmaster6472 practice makes perfect
@@stealthmaster6472 yeah having gatlings helps a lot in the GG series (and any anime fighters really). You may not get an optimal combo but at the very least you will get something. In SF you just have to know.
"You can't fight humans afraid."
This was big for me back in the SFIV days. I mostly played against CPUs until that point, so my usual approach to fighting against human players was to sit back and try to whiff-punish everything. Watching players like Max just dash in and take the initiative is what taught me a much better balance of offensive/defensive play. Playing against really good humans in local tourneys for SFIV and MVC3 helped me even more.
13:14 The elegance of that combo 🤌
Same with 17:05
God-tier editing in this video. Always such a pleasure to watch you and your team’s hard work, Max. Thanks for everything you do. ❤
Truly one of the most difficult fighting game bosses in years...
Believe it or not,not even close
Shin akuma and devil kazuya begs to differ
@@moneymakingodie what kazuya? In T2 right? Because tekken 7 is only damage and super armor? Ive never seen other than capcom vs snk 2 akuma do that or games tenkaichi budokai and infinite world dbz
T6 and tag 2 had longest combo AI
@@moneymakingodie
True
But at least this one plays the same game
Has the same moveset, frame data, and damage as we do
The only thing different is the consistency of computer execution and reaction time
Rarely do fighting games make bosses that are difficult fairly
Love the LV 8 AI in SF6. It reminds me much of HAL Laboratory's Super Smash Bros. Brawl's highest AI level, they fight, learn and do optimal stuff but not entire input reading scheming. These type of AI are the best for anyone to understand a character and what they can/can't do, and the best part is when you want to learn a match-up, have 2 AIs duke it out and you get the chance to analyze the fight and what they respect and what they punish!
I fucking love the cpu in this game. I never, NEVER seen anything in any fighting game that forces me to learn how to tech throws (which is why when I go online and someone knows how to do good strike/throw I get destroyed).
I really hope every single cpu in the final release will be as goated as this one.
Play KOF98 combo hack on level 8 and tell me how far you get🤣🤣
Dude hush....u gonna have a stroke trying to figure out to beat the level 8 ryu 😒🍵
This CPU could probably win a Tournament by its self 😂
Dude, with how AI is creating art, book reports and such, I wouldn't be surprised now haha
@@4everSolidSnake With how AI is "stealing" art, there I fixed it for you. It can't create anything without taking pieces of other peoples art (without their consent)
@@TwoTwig No, Some models don't use rando art from the internet, though, most major ones do.
It still isn't stealing, using rando art to train an AI model, (art you made publicly available mind you, art that someone could use to learn to make art in your style themselves, but I suppose that's not stealing to you.) would not be theft of any kind. Art is used to show the AI how people create art, so then it can also create art, art is art, and I wouldn't discredit someone who used my art to make something in a similar style by saying they stole my work, that's just childish.
I DO think human art will always be superior, no doubt about it. I honestly think if a human being didn't create it, it lacks impact, and I cannot think of the things they may have felt while creating the piece. That doesn't mean it isn't a piece of art, it's simply an inferior one.
@@Mwright4444The point is that ALL of these programs need someone else's art, AI can't create anything in a vacuum by itself without first scanning thousands of other artworks. If they were only using sample pieces specifically meant for AI it wouldn't be as much of an issue but the problem is that so many people use artwork from artists against their consent (i.e. THEFT) for the purpose of replicating their styles.
And your analogy is disingenuous, looking at another piece of publicly available art and drawing from it is called inspiration, as the creative process still has to come from you (even if you draw it exactly the same again, which in and of itself requires skill, it will never be a direct copy, ) There's no thought process, emotion, or inspiration when it comes to AI: You just type in words and wait for it to spit out a machine generated image that you didn't create, and that will never be art.
Of course it could, it is literally cheating and reading inputs 🤡
You can’t just show Steve saying Ryu would be a cakewalk and not show him eating those words, Max. We NEED the aftermath of that egregious underestimation.
The funny thing is max brought all this on himself and I'm loving every minute lol
I feel like level 8 CPUs will be a fun way of discovering combos for other characters when the game releases!
While simultaneously getting your ass handed to you.
If you’ve ever watched the movie Upgrade, it has an AI that takes control of a human body and does alotta action stuff, so you watch a person do this optimized efficient crazy fast fighting that’s technically possible if a human could process the information fast enough.
No reason why that popped in my head, just thought that movie was dope.
That's such a great movie that somehow went unnoticed (probably lack of marketing).
It also released almost at the same time as Venom, which basically does the same thing (except that it's an alien).
Fun fact: the main actor of Upgrade (Logan Marshall-Green) looks very much like Venom's (Tom Hardy). At least in that movie
@@cerdi_99 yeah I always described Upgrade as a perfect & elevated fusion of Venom & Hardcore Henry, it’s a Leigh Whannell picture, the aesthetics are amazing… hell of a movie.
As far as modern sci-fi movies are concerned, UPGRADE is an underrated classic. 😎👍
Parking a comment for reminder to watch this later
The CPU actually doing real ass combos is so sick
Could this qualify as a Boss Rage special?
Also that "extra-credits" scene with Steve was hilarious.
Being absolutely juggled by Lvl 8 AI Luke is helping me improve more than any player during the beta did, so satisfying gradually winning more rounds against them
indeed! the stuff you can learn is insane.. just watching the cpu alone doing combos you never tough off. is like giving you free gifts.
@@federicodiaz1482 I went a few rounds with the Ryu and he drive rushed me when it seemed I'd hit the ground after hitting a Lvl 2 super and then shoryuken'd me. Blew my fucking mind.

Ryu going full Vergil on people's asses...
this content is at least just as good as multiplayer matches, so entertaining seeing the shock of what the CPU is capable of. Which is really cool too because it's also an indication of what a player could technically achieve as well, for the most part. Hoping for an arcade Boss Rage at maximum difficulty when the game comes out!
LOVED the editing! Great play, great commentary, great audio/visual spice, great entertainment. Thanks, Max! (edit): Props to the TEAM that made this video the scrumptious production that it is. Thanks again!
Managed to handle and beat CPU LV7 several times using Luke against Ryu and got quite confident and then itried LV8 which made me eat the dust and even made me feel impressed with those nicely timed and perfectly executed drive rush combos lol the LV8 AI has a really good use of Drive gauge.... hope they don't tone it down cuz LV7 and 8 makes you practice reflexes (throw breaks, drive impact and parry)
Lmfaooooooooo that Tom scream is hilarious af...Tom scream is legendary
This is how Ryu should be in the canonical story after all those years of training. An absolute beast that just kicks names and takes ass.
This is my head-canon and you can't stop me.
This was definitely Ryu fighting his demons off-screen in the SF5 story.
Computer going "whats wrong, get up" is so funny after frame 1 jumping everything
So Max...does this mean we're going to be seeing a return of "Boss Rage" with SF6?
Like maybe Lvl 8/5* Advantage CPU challenges and such? Maybe?
And i'm HOPING there is some kind of SUPER BOSS on FF16 for a good set of vids too, lol!
Keep fighting the good fight DOOD!
I mean, it could depend on if arcade mode can allow level 8 cpu.
I enjoyed this video so much, the memes, the knowledgeable explanations, the profanity. I wish it was longer and can't wait to see him fight humans
capcom really did just go "oh our SFV AI is too easy? alright then here you go"
I thought it was a meme from the couple thumbnails I saw, but then I tried to fight this CPU myself last night, and had to bump these videos to the top of my watch list. Glad to see Max is making the same mistakes I did of thinking I can ever jump in or use my basic footsies tools against something with frame 1 reactions.
Also, just because I gotta shill Pokken Tournament anytime I can, I gotta say the CPUs in that game definitely teach people things, but it totally is super rare for FGs (and as Max said, not gonna help you learn to fight humans in general)
This game really is beautiful man.
So is Max
So are u
I played the demo on steam deck. It runs at a stable locked 60fps! You have to slightly sacrifice the graphics though but man I cannot wait for June 2nd gonna buy on PS5 and steam.
So am I
@Ada No you are!
When the Lv8 CPU is more of a challenge than any of the Boss Challenges in KoF15
Max's doing a Boss Rage before the game's even released
18:57 Max coutering the flip over the fireball with shoryuken was pretty sweet after this whole thing ^^
It's truly teaching you how to use Ryu in every way.
Oh the editing is PERFECTLY PERFECT!! Give your editor a Standing ovation MAX!! And a raise! 🤣
Also, POSIBLE BOSS RAGE ON THE GAME’S RELEASE!?!? 😁
Love to see how the graphic and stylized editing of Street Fighter 6 is inspiring the editing of this video (like the intro for the demo and such)
It seems like Capcom brought back combo variety which is very refreshing to the gameplay
Max's ability to see combo and just do it is astounding to me.
Well he was an ex champ for a reason
once you get to a certain level of competency with a character you really can just adopt other people's techniques after seeing them once or twice because you already know all the inputs and likely most of the mechanics behind the combo.
Learning from these level 8 AI seems like a pretty good way to find some early tech
Straight up when the game drops I'm gonna fight my character with level 8 CPU and see what I can learn
Man, I could see a series where you 1v1 each fighter at lv8, watching this is a riot.
I love Brunty's editing so much
he's the FGC GOAT
16:07
I like how this clip cutout the part on stream where after getting frame trapped he immediately tries to copy the CPU and whiffs into death
It was a fuckin frame trap💀💀
Petition for every single fighting game to have this kind of CPU (it can help a lot having a "practice buddy" to see and learn new stuff)
But of course not locked to this but get progressively harder between levels
Props to your editor, these small gags here and there are wonderful and add a lot to what would have just been 20 minutes of straight ass beating XD.
imagine if at the end of the pro tourn they make you fight CPU LVL 8 and if you dont beat it you dont get the 1mil
I love what they've done with the CPU, here. Being able to get absolutely creamed by him doing the most impressive stuff is an awesome way to learn. That way you can still advance, even if you're not up to going online or able to go to a local. It's just really cool.
Lv.8 CPU Cammy for EVO let’s go!
4:41 The "oh my god!" Old man Joestar meme sync'd with max cam was hilarious!
Watching the CPU play and learning from it is similar to how speedrunners watch TAS runs to figure out what works and what doesn't
The CvsSNK2 audio clips legit made my day
Even Daigo was having trouble against the lvl 8 Ryu CPU
Just like how this computer is doing, the level 9 CPU in Smash Ultimate showed us awesome Kazuya tech when he came out as DLC. Look where we are now.
THAT COMBO AT @2:00 IS INSANE!!
I have yet to even win a round against level 8 CPU. Basically, the AI anti airs everything and reads all your inputs so forget about drive rushes, you'll get thrown
I love how AI Ryu just looks like he's doing manual KI combos :D
Max: I never practiced Drive Rush combos.
Level 8 AI: That's why I'm here.
Finally, a non casual friendly AI opponent in modern Street Fighter. Time to get good the hard way.
Shoutouts to the editor, I know what song you were using for the focus edits, that shits sick fr. ❤❤❤
Said it once, I'll say it again...
The Lv8 CPU Ryu demonstrates just how powerful Ryu can be when he puts on footwear. He's been limiting himself for decades!
Also, nice meme edits this video. Forst time I have seen that from Max.
Also also, I like how in Ryu's victory animation, he initially looks like he's calming down by tensing up then exhaling, but not even a second later, he just looks pissed off again for the rest of it. I dunno. It amuses me.
Love the editing in this one! Ryu looks incredible, can't wait to play this game
If we could pit Level 8 CPUs against each other, I'm sure many people would die to watch it so that they can see and learn the optimized stuff they're doing and apply it for themselves!
I think that's actually something we can do!
Brian_F already has a video of that of luke vs ryu.
There's some Luke vs Ryu CPU. Luke wins most of the time and has a pretty good lead too
Damn 😂

It’d be really funny if they just run a tournament of Level 8 CPUs.
The editing in this video is great! Brunty did a great job, hope to see more stuff edited like this in the future! Also, when Ryu dies, I know he says Well Fought... but it 100% sounds like WELL FUUUUUUUUUUCK
Ryu is sooooo much better in 6 than his V incarnation. Had fun playing as him in the demo.
I 💯 agree with you.
My god, the editing in this is ...*chef's kiss*
More of this please!
Do we have another boss rage on our hands?
gotta say these edits lately have been pretty good and funny, keep up the good work editor
You can learn some TRICKS FROM THIS GUY, DAMN!
When the CPU utterly demolishes even DAIGO, you know there's some input reading going on. Good luck, Max😂
This feels like a mini boss rage 😄
15:46 The CPU reacted so fast to the drive impact that it responded frame 0
i hope they create cpu level 9 cheese proof someday xD
7:22 can we talk about the flower petals on the ground? Amazing stuff
You mean "CpRyu".
That editing at 3:05. I may come back for years to come
Max's expression in the thumbnail is gold! Nice fun video man!
honestly the best part about these level 8 AI is that there is clearly some thought and care into making them show off what those characters can do.
I remember Skynet Scorpion of MKX ending Max and the guys attempts to beat it on the hardest difficulty 8 years ago. It's not going to get any easier.
Even if input reading truly went away even older AIs can throw 50/50s and get max damage perfectly every single time.
