Put another way, getting your opponent's pick of stage and/or music gives them a bit of recognizable character both before and after you see their main and their playstyle. Further, it helps naturally keep things from getting too samey. I get my favorites half the time, and the other half the time I'm getting something else to keep things fresh and if it sucks well there's the perpetrator right in front of me and I have the explicit goal of knocking their teeth in. Plus I know that I'm inflicting *my* preferences on them whenever we get my picks. It kinda breaks down if *every* goober is always taking you to the super-boring training stage, and this is good for esports if not every stage is viable to actually play, but overall I can understand the feeling that something has been lost.

Not enough talk about the music in general. I feel like I keep hearing new tracks and they're all bangers. Aggressive, atmospheric, contemporary- they're all setting the mood perfectly. Best SF soundtrack since 3rd Strike.

In an industry full of cut corners, is always good to see a development team going above and beyond, and seems the team behind this is truly going for it,
@Jay Laliberte Capcom is guilty of cutting the same corners as a lot of other companies in the past, and you can't just act like they never did. I mean, this is the same company that sold on-disc DLC back when Street Fighter x Tekken came out. They've been on a redemption arc for awhile now though.

That character recipe list is possibly the greatest idea I have seen. I don't think ANY GAME with a character creator has this kind of feature unless you were to dig into game files. Now I wish this existed in every game with character creator.

All of this looks amazing. I don't even play fighting games, haven't since mid 90s cuz I suck at them. And yet, I'm highly compelled to actually get this game. Go from "watch only" to "mainly watch, but also play".
One of my favorite little details is the way that the people in the background visibly react when a character hit the ground hard. It give the stage more life.
I have been having an absolute BLAST with Ryu in the closed beta. I can NOT wait until this game comes out, I'm literally buying the BEST version there is. I can't get enough of the gameplay, it's so refreshing. Every battle is so much fun. Had no idea what I was doing against this Luke, was 0-6, but every battle it taught me something more and more about the Drive system as well as the Luke showing me how it was, and somehow brought it back to win the set 10-9. God I love this game. 😭

Ryu Feels weak to me. Not sure what to do with his new special. And not a lot of juggle possibilities. While ken seems to get a combo out of everything

It just requires online game-state to be independent of client-side graphics, which should always be the case lol. For 2D fighters like this, the stage differences are completely cosmetic and there's no real reason to keep them "in-sync". Heck, they should always have been able to do this, but for some fucking reason some games will desync because of stage stuff, which makes no goddamn sense

Fellas it's been a decade since a Street Fighter game released by Capcom ran well online and it was goddamn Third Strike Online Edition. It's here, the era of playable fighting games.
I've been saying for YEARS that it would be great for fighting games to allow players to see their own preferred stage. Most fighting games theoretically could just Do That, the stages don't actually change anything except maybe some performance differences (which shouldn't be a thing anyway), I'm so glad someone is actually doing that. AND IT'S STREET FIGHTER!? What a world we live in.

I love the weight and impact of the characters. A lot of attacks that land feel impactful but don't send the opponent flying across the screen and that's such an awesome element.
Seeing max's face after those first few fights and how excited this man was to just play it and just how he wanted to do and see cool shit genuinely makes me so hyped for the release

That GamerLCD who was playing as Ryu is definitely an old school player. I really like how SF6 bring backs Old and New players.

RATE THE COSTUMES
I love the weight and impact of the characters. A lot of attacks that land feel impactful but don't send the opponent flying across the screen and that's such an awesome element.
