Uprise Bikes - By Riders, For Riders
Great well put together review! This made me decide to pull the trigger on one of these bikes... getting a belt drive, solid fork electric bike that looks like a normal bike is really hard to find at the moment!
Couldn't agree with you more, Orbea have nailed the Urban eBike. Have a great time with yours!
It looks lovely and very high spec. Though it seems insane to me that the battery can’t be detached for recharging. You won’t always be able to lock it near a mains supply, so rules out people who go on cycling holidays and need to lock their bike, take off the battery, and recharge in a hotel room. Or am I missing something ?
Yes you can remove the battery for charging!
Thank you for your reply. I can’t see anything in the user manual though about doing this. Instead it’s to plug the charger into the bike. They have a detachable range extender, but that’s not what I mean. Can the internal battery be taken out of the frame for recharging as well ? Thank you.
@@garvE17 My Apologies, the reply was for a comment on another video, No unfortunately you cannot remove the battery for charging on the Diem. In Instances where you would take the bike on holiday with you you would probably need to contact the hotel or venue before hand and discuss charging areas with them. Most will have a foyer but you'd need to discuss it with them. There are lots of other bikes on the market with removable batteries if its a deal breaker for you, but by using an internal battery you make the frame a lot lighter and stiffer, so it handles a lot more like a regular bike.
