This is the first "Reforged" vid that felt as good as the old ones. Don't get me wrong, the stuff you guys have made have had hits and misses, but part of the fun of these vids was seeing the guys actually forge the weapons, which Reforged hasn't had a lot of. it's been stuff cut out and crafted. This was cool, more of this.
nothing can destroy the iconic skyrim helmet. not a katana, nor the mighty gourd, not even the infallible cheese wheel. thankfully, they did not resort to using sweet roll, a steel helmet would be needed to counter that.
And the results were awesome, like usual. Ilya really knows his stuff, not only procedure wise, but also the history behind it and he does most of the things by hand, which is awesome :D I really enjoy his builds and explanations
The formula of this episode was much better than previous episodes. The others had a quantity over quality feel, but this episode made it feel like a lot more work and skill was laid into the project. Keep this formula up, and I'll definitely keep watching.
I agree - the detailed descriptions really made this a more interesting project to watch than the others. Having never seen armour made before, this was a really awesome video!
+Trailer Drake could you get in touch with game theory. I'd like him to talk about how kirby is able to swallow and become part of practically anything.
I've had a lot of complaints since the new series started. However, I think it needs to be said, I give credit where it's due. This episode was a joy to watch. It wasn't something gimmicky, but still managed to do something different to what has been done in the old series. The helm was well-made, visually true to the source material, and demonstrably functional. I am impressed, for a change, and happy to say "Well done." for once.
Yeah, I know the feeling, guys. I've played through the main storyline with every single race so... you can imagine. Although my favourite character would be my beloved female Argonian, named Adhara.
I am surprised by how sturdy the helmet proves to be, but still it would never resist the impact caused by a thrown pommel, which makes it unviable, seen as the wearer could be ended rightly with ease.
Fully tempered steel is extremely strong. Unlike what movies and games show, a sword cannot cut threw armor. Not even riveted chain mail. To counter this, you use blunt weapons, like back of an axe,a Warhammer, pommel/guard, or mace. Blunt damage will concentrate more force to one area, causing impact damage but not precision cuts like a sword. So yeah like you said, it would still hurt, probably kill if hard enough, but it won't pierce armor. Even adding padded stuff inside won't help much
Simos Katsiaris 60 mins will be boring... trust me - you wanna look on 10000000 hits with hammer and wait what happen? and wait... and wait... and wait...
Lol the "arrow to the knee" remark has nothing to do with arrows directed to the knee. It's actually just a slang way to say that the guard got married and stopped adventuring.
Well. Let's all be honest here, Ilya is the star of this new show and makes stuff much more complex than the sharpened bars of irons that made us subscribe to this channel. So much for Katana lovers. That's what you get for having a blade that's not elastic and doesn't bounce back into shape after impact. Also thanks for showing how absolutelly amazing and crucial armor is in medieval combat.
They probably used crap katanas for the demonstration that were obviously sharp enough to cut through a melon (not that difficult, let's be real) but weren't that high quality if they were just gonna be smashing them over the helmet. That was their intended purpose, to be broken over their helmet, so they're not gonna use something super fancy or expensive if they just intend to break it.
Stephen Patterson true... But no blade can go through a helmet like this (not weilded by a human anyway), And katanas are never made out of springy steel like european weapons. Overall the Katana wasn't built with a battlefield in mind. It's a status statement, a decoration and a stylish death sentence. Little more.
GregTom2 u really need to do more research into japanese sword smithing and look into the specific eras. Cuz ur so wrong its nuts. katanas were about grace, technique, speed, and took a ridiculous time to master. NOT POWER.
OK, finally a good Reforged video. Excellent craftsmanship, very cool design, good general idea. Glad we seem to be ditching that "weapon mashup" nonsense. I love it. On thing, though - your narration still sucks. "Illia does this. Then Illia does that. Now Illia does this other thing." Ugh... Let him speak for himself! I agree with your general opinion, but to add some constructive criticism: I think it would have sounded fine if 2/3 (or more) of the time they replaced his name with "he" in the narration.
Yup the narration was a "bit" stiff. It would be more natural if he himself would explain what he does and why. For inspiration, you dont need to go too far: the old Man at Arms vids were perfect in this sense ^^
YES! FINALLY A EPISODE WORTHY OF THE OLD TEAMS CHANNEL! Keep the good shit up, keep forging and doing shit by hand, dont cut everything out of industrial steel, we want to see forging, creating your ingots, damascus, traditional methods you know the deal, no cheating!
This is the first reforged episode I've watched in a long time, because none of the "fusions" really peaked my interest. Though I still don't like the format of reforged and I miss the original Man at Arms, this is a truly amazing piece. Good job guys.
+Animeplex Entertainment The whole armor is 99% sure not going to happen, the helmet is a possibility if enough people agree. But by now they would probably already have done it if they would.
Well, this video shows how a good helmet can save your life. I didn't expect to see that kind of result during the testing at the end. It shows a lot about the importance of armor for that time. Also, that helmet is truly a work of art! Good job guys. I just need one for myself now...
I think it shows even more the importance of "testing" a helmet with a sword-shaped piece of aluminium or tin (?) rather than a more realistic blade... no real sword would bend like that.

ilia takes 2 steps forward. ilya takes a deep breath, ilya sneezes, ilya says excuse me, ilia goes to the toilet. You dont have to keep saying his name!
Alright here is a challenge now that you are making skyrim inspired pieces I challenge you to make a weapon inspired by the fabled Daedric weapons in the game such as Dawn Breaker the Merunes razor, the mace of Molag Bal the ebony blade, the shield of Ysgramor, Wuuthraad, Wabbajack, the Notched Pickaxe, the Skull of corruption, the sanguine rose , Bolar's Oath blade,The nightingale blade (there are a lot) Anyone Agree?
1: Eat a wheel of cheese every time they say Ilya does something. 2: Find yourself in New Sheoth, for some reason. 3: Do the fishstick. 4: Sheogorath is pleased.
What I love about the elder scrolls is the amount of variety of armor and weapons that can be used, not only in skyrim and most of them are very unique.
I approve. Everyone wants to see katanas, longswords, sabers, cutlasses, and claymores, but some rapiers are just as beautiful, and just as deadly. If they made Inigo's rapier, it would be awesome, as I've always loved how that sword looked. :)
Power armor Helmet. The ones the Brotherhood of Steel in fallout Wear. Or the Enclave variant. that would be cool. Hell even the Blade of the East or that legate Lanius? helmet would be awesome.
The Power Armor helmets probably require too much technological stuff, but i can see the Blade of The East or Legate Lanius`s helmet happening. Or the Bumper Sworld. Huge, easy to make it look like its a car bumper retrofitted to become a oversized sword and give it a crude look as if it has been stuck on a old car for many years. They`d just need to go to a scrapyard to find a bumper.
***** Well in New vages you got the Salvaged power armor which work as nothing more the heavy body armor since all the electronic were apparently ripped out. Also while the Ranger Helmet also looks cool isn't it mostly plastic and leather.
akimboDEEZ Oh yeah. And the Ranger Helmet is actually a helmet with red lights in the eye area and a filter on each side by the mouth to filter out sand and other annoying shit that can be blown in your face by the gusty desert winds.
Those would be hell on earth to build, I don't think they have made much bull body armor, think about how much time, effort & skill that would take to build.
That's why I aim for the head of a bandit with a bow and arrow, they don't seem to wear helmets and I always make sure my knees are covered. A dragonslayer doesn't want to be turned into a meer guard.
I would like to see them make Anduril...it s a pretty long sword....I am surprised they didn t make it already, considering there is a lot of LOTR fans....
It would be interesting to see their take on that but I actually kind of like the version that Museum Replicas Ltd. sells/sold, I'd much rather see either Perrin's ax or Mat's ashandarei.
God this pissed me off, said it so many damn times. I do not give a crap WHO is doing it, unless you have a team of people and you are going back and forth between them in quick succession.
Ilya relised he did everything in the video Ilya got angry Ilya realised no one else did anything Ilya decided to take over the shop Ilya fired everyone, he didn't need them Ilya was wrong Ilya needed them alot Ilya apolagise Ilya decided never to cause mutiny again Ilya was lying though Ilya was just preparing for his time Ilya had a plan, a dark evil plan
Okay... Imagine you are at a battlefield and a arrow STUCK itself on your face protector... That is fucking badass! Glad that little event happened in this video! :D
There are actually stories (I don't know if they're true,) of crusaders getting arrows stuck in their armor, such that they appeared to have been hit, when the arrow hadn't punctured skin at all. This resulted in some understandable unease in their opponents, as they strode around the battlefield, apparently unfazed by the twenty or thirty arrows sticking out of their body.
I wonder how many iron daggers Ilya has created to be such a good smith
Pieshka Coltic I get it XD
about 1000, should have made gold rings, it's more effective

Only low life bandits wear those lol
it's because they have it on the games's box, like faraam or elite knight set from dark souls 2 and 1
Secretly, the Dragonborn has a team of super fast Ilyas working for him to do all his smithing work.
Ilya now takes a break, and eats his sammich. Ilya now takes a dump before going back to work. Ilyas flowing locks blow in the wind.
Awesome comment,lol
i just love how in skyrim, you can easily make this regardless of stats in an instant, but here so much work is put into just 1 helmet
they could have tried to make the ancient nord helmet the deathlords wear

I still think you guys need to make Ryuuko's Scissor Blade from Kill La Kill.
Yeah!
He'll nah
they did :)
I tried taking a shot of Jack Daniels every time they said Ilya's name... didn't even make it through half the video.
Selena Gamya why is everyone pissed he’s doing his job it says he’s the one who builds the armor
Make the helmet of the Witch-king of Angmar.
Just because most people don't know who that is, the Witch-king of Angmar is from The Lord Of The Rings.
Yes witch king helmet!
HELL YEA! that would be sweet
YYEESSSSSS MAKEE WITCH-KINGS HELMET PLSS!!!
Then on testing, let a woman stab it in the oculars. :))
You have pleased Sheogoarth with that cheese wheel as well.
CHEESE
FOR EVERYONE
Alright here is a challenge now that you are making skyrim inspired pieces I challenge you to make a weapon inspired by the fabled Daedric weapons in the game such as Dawn Breaker the Merunes razor, the mace of Molag Bal the ebony blade, the shield of Ysgramor, Wuuthraad, Wabbajack, the Notched Pickaxe, the Skull of corruption, the sanguine rose , Bolar's Oath blade,The nightingale blade (there are a lot) Anyone Agree?
I want to see Mace of Molag Bal
The mace of molag bal would take so much work. but would look insane
Those weapons sound like what a Dungeons and Dragons nerd would say
spodermanhazsweg where do you think modern fantasy games came from?
I am the Dovahkin and I approve this message.
no you are not, Dovahkin is a little boy who is 6 years old, almost 7 in about a month. his parents get free Bethesda games for life.
I used to be an adventurer like you then I took an arrow to the knee
*Dovahkiin... two I's, not one.
Zu'u Laan Hi Wah Dir.
@@burnth4m how is that a woosh? their not only stating facts but also exposing a poser
LOL at the cheese wheel. Should've smashed a sweet roll on the helmet as well.
Sheogorath would be crying tears of joy.
bet there is more cheese under your helmet kek
Coldplay200000 bring the cheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeesssssssssssseeeeeeeeeeeeee
let play a game called: how many times they say Ilya does something
Instructions:
1- Take shot every time they say Ilya does something.
2- Die.
1: Eat a wheel of cheese every time they say Ilya does something.
2: Find yourself in New Sheoth, for some reason.
3: Do the fishstick.
4: Sheogorath is pleased.
I challenge you guys to craft a full armor from the series saint seiya... That would make a great grand finale
PLEASE DO THIS!
Dustin Cole fellow saint seiya fan? I was hoping they'd do like Dragon V3 it's one of my favorites from the less complex ones
What the fuck is saint seiya? Please dont say anime..
Noobaru -Kun
amusing comment, in a channel filled with items from japanese animation and videogames
yes, it's a manga and anime, deal with it
Noobaru -Kun it's anime my friend. What a problem with that?
What I love about the elder scrolls is the amount of variety of armor and weapons that can be used, not only in skyrim and most of them are very unique.
Inigo Montoya's sword from Princess Bride.
I approve. Everyone wants to see katanas, longswords, sabers, cutlasses, and claymores, but some rapiers are just as beautiful, and just as deadly.
If they made Inigo's rapier, it would be awesome, as I've always loved how that sword looked. :)
holy crap that would be amazing!
The flame thrower test at the end demonstrates how armor is pretty mcuh useless against dragons :P
Matt Stagmer
fuck yes.
Unless you enchant it with fire protection...
+Invenblocker whis world are you in?
I didn't now that enchantments exists.
Love Dittlau
well now you do
dragon priests masks would look cool...
nakhrin, krosis, morekei, etc
Bet you can't forge an iron dagger.

ruclips.net/video/DXrvrucnufo/видео.html
NCR Ranger Helmet.
***** Well in New vages you got the Salvaged power armor which work as nothing more the heavy body armor since all the electronic were apparently ripped out.
Also while the Ranger Helmet also looks cool isn't it mostly plastic and leather.
akimboDEEZ
Oh yeah. And the Ranger Helmet is actually a helmet with red lights in the eye area and a filter on each side by the mouth to filter out sand and other annoying shit that can be blown in your face by the gusty desert winds.
***** AKA a Helmet with a Gasmask combined with Spec-op Goggles. lol
end of the video should have a disclaimer "iron helmet does not protect against flamethrowers"
Nothing protects against flamethrowers except jumping into a large body of water.
h0m3st4r And sometimes that doesn't help lol......... (Tar)
Else how are they going to visualize the process of absorbing a dragon soul?
Algiark ..or a mage blasting fire out of his hands straight into your face.
Does not help against badass dragons shouting fire in your face either...
AAAHHHH!!! Daedric pieces please! And thanks for keeping my son enamored with metalworking!
Those would be hell on earth to build, I don't think they have made much bull body armor, think about how much time, effort & skill that would take to build.
Why did they test arrows on it? Nobody is going ti aim at the head, theyre obviously going to aim at the knee
I know this is a joke, but I can't tell if you're being serious or not. The head is the best place to fire, neck, eyes, and mouth are vulnerable.
Priceless comment! You are a true adventurer!
That's why I aim for the head of a bandit with a bow and arrow, they don't seem to wear helmets and I always make sure my knees are covered. A dragonslayer doesn't want to be turned into a meer guard.
You made me laugh but i should of expected this comment
And to think, you only need lvl 15 smithing for this...
Smithing Increased to 100,000 points
I am amazed at the amount of craftsmanship that goes into these peices, they are true works of art.
Pretty damn good job I wish I could do something like this, I have a suggestion Power fist from Fallout.
Damn! There Smithing skill must be 100!
DO THE ANDURIL SWORD OF LORD OF THE RINGS !!!!!!
do the greatsword of artorias DARK SOULS 1
Choose 1
meh anduril in the movies isnt really that impressive
I would like to see them make Anduril...it s a pretty long sword....I am surprised they didn t make it already, considering there is a lot of LOTR fans....
i like that you used cheese from Norway XD
Heron-marked Sword from Wheel of Time books
Yeah
That would be epic
It would be interesting to see their take on that but I actually kind of like the version that Museum Replicas Ltd. sells/sold, I'd much rather see either Perrin's ax or Mat's ashandarei.
And here I thought you just had to sit down at an anvil with an iron ingot, hit three times with a hammer and it turned into a helmet.
I just want to say, I APPRECIATE YOU
You do the sheet metal in the right way, no premade sheet bs. Gotta respect that.
I had to watch this twice...
the second time to point out that they said "Ilya something" 26 times... I guess Ilya was the main guy on this build
Glad someone noticed this too. "Ilya does something something..." "Ilya does something something else..." "Ilya sets the something something..."
God this pissed me off, said it so many damn times. I do not give a crap WHO is doing it, unless you have a team of people and you are going back and forth between them in quick succession.
Ilya relised he did everything in the video
Ilya got angry
Ilya realised no one else did anything
Ilya decided to take over the shop
Ilya fired everyone, he didn't need them
Ilya was wrong
Ilya needed them alot
Ilya apolagise
Ilya decided never to cause mutiny again
Ilya was lying though
Ilya was just preparing for his time
Ilya had a plan, a dark evil plan
IIYA, DO EVERYTHING.
ILYA IS GOD
It would be awesome if you guys could forge three of the nazgul ring wrath sowrds from Lord of the ring
+the Rings of them
oooo now theres an idea
GammaJ4 if i was the enemy then i would run. You think like he cant die iam out of here
Danny Bennink That's exactly waht I was getting at! :D
Vodhr we most be twins we think the same
The Iron Helmet may protect you from arrows, but if someone aims just right, they can definitely get your eye.
*Knee*
Skeleton Mask 2814 Or the knee
That is why you carry a shield
u used to be adventurer like you. Then i took an arrow to the knee
