Brooks is doing so well at holding that fragile little chick! The chick must feel safe, it's so calm in her hands. I'm proud of her...she's definitely a farm girl! She has "the touch".

When the happened...what came to mind was the say/expression of "What are you talking about Willis" from Different Strokes. I miss these days with my children of being innocent and "no cares" of the world. I also thought about trying to teach my daughter that 1+2 does equal 3, as she had her own thinking (math wasn't her thing I guess), but I was wrong as now she teaches advance math...and she uses her 1001 mind blowing math skills to confuse me. Pretty soon Brooks will be going into a 25 min explanation why the chick pooped, and how just washing your hands with soap isn't enough... Enjoy these days while you can, and I'm looking forward to being a grandfather, while my daughter now gets to explain why 1=2+3 to her daughter in a few years.......

The experiences and exposure you are giving your daughter is THE most wonderful thing in the world!! You two are building GREAT memories and experiences that will serve her well throughout her entire life. And you will enjoy it too! My husband took our daughters everywhere he went he went when he could so when I watch your videos you having Brooks with you reminds me of him and our girls. Not a lot of dads are like that in this day and age. Can't wait to see her adventures with her chicks!

Brook is so gentle with that baby chick. She is adorable by the way. Jason from Cog Hill Farm got some kind of a tiny wasp non stinging that kills fly larva, he has had some success with them.

Oh Brook is so in love with the little Chic. So cute. My dad allowed me to have a Albano Piggie on our farm that I could keep in the house. Just made my whole childhood. I trained him how to go do his business outside and her was such a Joy to have around. It is so funny that Piggies know how to go outside, and they r really clean. Brook will Always remember that Dusty. Dunbar is such a Gorgeous Bull, and thank u for sharing with us, just a Beautiful Farm.

I'm going to be visiting a very large exotic wildlife game ranch up near the Texas panhandle in a few weeks. I've visited it several times. It's a family friends private property. In years past, on my visits, I didn't know much about bison or any of their other true buffalo & exotic animals. I thought the red headed smaller bison were so adorable. Now I know, thanks to you, those little red heads are called red dogs and they are still technically calves. I'm so excited this year to really be able to pay closer attention as they get up close & personal to the feed/cube trucks. You are correct in your warning about bison not being approachable. You must be very cautious AND THEN & ONLY THEN, if you are familiar with that particular bison animal. But they are just so beautiful. I count myself fortunate to have experienced these majestic creatures up close & personal.
This little gal is smitten! She loves that chick! 🐥 Look how attentive and gentle she is to it. She will want to name it you know! She is a mini of her mommy. You are blessed Dusty, you get to live with 2 beauties!

Dusty, Don't forget to show the chicks the water by dipping their beaks in it! Otherwise, you take the chance of losing them to dehydration.
The chicks aren't new hatched but ones that had been exposed to feed and water already.

Only a few of us are lucky to live the lives we live out in this beautiful world we do. We live in God's Cathedral and see his wonderful works of new life and the animals we are responsible for. New growth all around us. The work never ends but oh the rewards we reep! I used to love the new babies all around us of different animals we had now I can be around my sons animals and though not the same still marvelous to see. Time takes away so much but at 66 I regret nothing, though mom has been gone over 3years dad is still going good at 91, it's like having a Large kid at times but thank God my Grandchildren have him! Take care Bison need good homes and you are doing great for our Children to be able to see the heritage our families fought so hard for. 💞✝️📖🕊💜💯

It was so cute how she was holding the brown chick and its legs were hanging in an awkward position but it was falling asleep! That was so cute. Much better for her to learn to care for chickens than video games, as you said. Good parenting. I am so glad that you are warning people not to approach wild bison. I just saw people in a video getting close to them and they charged after them. People don't seem to have common sense anymore. Heck, I would love to give Big Joe a big hug. Ha ha. I know better.
Delightful to see your precious little girl getting to hold and learn about baby chicks! Brought back childhood memories of summers at my grandparents' home, not too far from Durant, OK. Grandma would let us bring the chicks in the house as long as they didn't poop on the floor. As soon as she saw poop on the floor, back outside we went, chicks in hand!
Awe I just love Brookes! She is so smart and loves all of the Bison and all of Aunt Deejay's critters... (except for Uncle Daniel.. she is still shy around him.) Better start saving your money because she is going to make one heck of a Vet someday.
And someday she'll be Wanting a horse. And you will give it to her. Better than a boyfriend.!

Oh my gosh Brooke was sooooooo cute with her baby chick:) When we went to Yellowstone and the bison were walking down the road we all had to pull off on the side and park and let them walk past it was amazing!!! We were outside our vehicle but on the other side where they could get to us:) turn as it was a once in a lifetime sing bison up close and personal:) tfs stay safe and God Bless:)
