    Daniel..
Hear this with my "mom" tone.
You didn't "abandon" your fellow officers.
You are still friends with them.
I was so happy for you being able to leave.
The world had flipped on its head. Random attacks and murders of officers.
Your an inspiration that you CAN leave a long term profession not just law enforcement with proper PLANNING.
I have always heard, "do what you love every day. " and figure out how to get paid for it. You have done that!
Your happy, your family is happy.
    You're safe.
    You served your community.
You have had an HONORABLE life.
    God bless you.

Jesus said "Deny me in front of man and I'll deny you in front of my Father in Heaven"
Those people that create platforms for whatever reason and share their faith to thousands of followers are awesome and will be rewarded.

Oh DeJay I was a law Enforcement wife for over 35 years. My husband is gone now but I understand how you both feel. My husband had an Uncle who was a Highway Patrolman in Oklahoma and I can’t remember his name. He’s retired now several years. I was an IEMT and worked on an ambulance for the city where we lived and I saw so many fatalities and I understand the feelings you are talking about. I wouldn’t want to be in law enforcement in this day and age! People just don’t get that the job is there to protect the public. I also understand that security feeling of money!! It’s very hard to be a cops wife! It’s a brotherhood and a family that you will always be a part of!

You had me in tears. It’s like you were talking about my life. My hubby is retiring after 24 years from LASD. Moving to Missouri soon for a slower life style and being closer to family.

  • @donnawoods8709
    @donnawoods8709 2 года назад +34

I just love you guys. You have just mentioned every part of my life. My husband finally retired after almost 35 years in law enforcement and I relied 100% on God to keep him safe., and He did. There were some close calls too but God was with him the whole way. We don't have the life now that I was hoping for because I became ill and became disabled but that's okay. God is in charge of our life. He has said no many times but he has recently said yes. He saved our daughter from cancer and severe anemia and He said yes to helping us through the most difficult time of our lives. If people don't have God in their lives, they don't know what they're missing. Just the peace of mind that you don't have to carry the burdens in life on your own is enormous. Thank you for being here Dee Jay and Daniel. God bless you.

You put that so beautifully! Yes, to know God is in charge and directing us and everything that comes into or out of our lives. Prayers for your health. My husband and son were both in law enforcement. God has them both now. Neither one's passing was related to their past work. I have days and times I break down, my only child,, my son passed this past 10-20-2021, but knowing God has me, too, is such a huge relief. God bless you and yours, and thank you both, you and your husband, for your service. You served, too, holding down the fort, keeping things going while he was out there protecting the community.

Even the small things you talk about reach out to people in ways you will never know about. Thank you for listening and doing His work. God knew the plan all along when making utube videos. He has turned it into a ministry and not just another family farm video. Thank you for being an example to so many in your daily lives. Thanks for being real.

I was married to a local police officer for 10 years. I know exactly what you are saying, DeeJay! I understand the "brotherhood" you talked about, and losing friends you had for years, but as soon as they realized I was married to a LEO, they quit coming around. You are a stronger couple for having survived the stress of being in law enforcement. My marriage failed because of it. But I admire those who can survive it. God bless you all!

Thank you. Growing up my dad was an Illinois State Trooper and he had my mom and six kids there for him. I have great memories of my dad. My dad’s side hustle was to open a marina on a private lake with boat and motor sales and service. One day his supervisor on the force told him that his side hustle seemed to be taking up to much of his time and attention and he should think about what was important to him. He said it took him less than a minute to tell his supervisor that he was right and that was the day my dad put in his paperwork to leave the force. My dad had great memories and he provided a lot of great memories for us kids. Thank you so much for sharing!

You're right, again, I was a paramedic EMT for almost 10 years, on an ambulance. I had to walk away.! When you go back to base or you come home and you're thinking in the back of your mind what could I have done to have saved this that or whoever - when in all reality you couldn't save them. ( Not you Not Anyone ) I literally cried for days, walking away from a profession of helping people that I really loved, and turned in my resignation. ! I got to say it took me quite a while, to get over that. So I know what you're talking about, but under the circumstances the way things are going in our country I don't blame you one little bit. ! ❤️🙏❤️

After retiring is when the decompression begins, than the mind begins to explore and then the confidence builds upon that foundation. Its (to me) like a marriage, it took time to fall in love and build that trust. Its even harder when you don't have God in your life, but once you accept Christ as your savior, the load gets easier. The biggest challenge for many is "surrendering all", letting go and placing all your burden, worries and plans in God's hand. LEO/Mil retired going on 23 years now.

I spent nearly 7 years in county 911 dispatch. I was pretty excited when I seen you were getting to retire early. Dispatch of course is far from being out in the field but I can relate to an extent hearing so much from taking calls I'll never unhear and having to take that home and deal with it. And when I left I was ready, but I too felt I was leaving my people behind. I was leaving those I dispatched behind, my fellow dispatchers behind, and even more those I served behind. I miss it but I don't regret that being a past career. I'm so happy you are able to be where you are now. I sure enjoy the channel.

Well, you both had me crying, this was a great Podcast. I can say I get the God part, but also respect and understand the Police Officer part also. Will always respect and be thankful for Our Police. I recently went to a Birthday dinner for a friend, the Chief of Police in our Town was there, I felt led when I was leaving, to put my hand on His shoulder and thanked Him for what He does. Whenever I hear people complain about Police and giving Police less authority, I think, and who are you going to call when someone's beating you up, or breaking into your home etc. We need the Police more than ever I think, some crazy stuff going on I Pray for my Children and Grandchildren all the time.I also choose to believe the good people in this world outweigh the bad, I see a lot of people on you tube who Love God and respect the flag and it is refreshing, Thank You 😘

So i understand the stress the family goes thru and trying to support the one that is serving. So much disservice is going on now for our military and police officers it makes me sad. Not only do they have to worry about going into situations but now citizens are attacking them when they are sitting in their cars. PTSD just got a boost for them. So sad

I say this because it’s true with the Highway Patrol, Sheriff, Police, Correction detention officer. I could go on into the Fire industry. …but you covered it as the “Lifestyle” that it is. My son just recently left the Dept. of Correction to find another job. Due to “overtime overage” ie 16 hour shifts. You said and showed your emotion well. We need people to see what the lifestyle is all about. Thank you to you and Daniel for “Telling like it is”. With the whole world is the negative atmosphere that we are in currently yes there will be Haters or just in general Negative people but your family is sharing a Positive lifestyle and sharing it Honestly! God Bless you for sharing with all of us out here in the world!

This really touched my heart deeper than many know I was with a cop for over 10 years and he lost his life on the line of duty, and it took apart of my soul, even to this day people ask will you ever date a cop again I always say I can't answer that because, I have different feelings about it you have to love him for him and understand that you and his job they love and always understand that, you are right I never allowed myself to be mad at him because you never know, but that day when his co-workers showed up at my house I already knew and they are very much family when I was told they had to grab me because I just fell to my knees,my breath was taken away from me, the worst

My deepest condolences to you on the great loss you have experienced. My heart goes out to you. Both my husband and son were in law enforcement, both have passed, neither passing was job related. My son passed 10-20-2021 of genetically unknown heart issues. He was 49, my only child. He had been medically retired from LA Co Sheriff's after 23 years. Hugs n love to you. May our good God keep you close and watch over you.

My Dad was a volunteer cop in the UK in the 60's and 70'S, policing truly creates an unappreciated community within a community. Thank you for your service to your community and the US generally via RUclips. DJ, getting emotional is not be ashamed of, you're a strong person and are to be admired for your strength and dedication to making a future for your family. You guys are good people, what us europeans imagine as an American Family.

Thank you for all you did. I can relate somewhat as my husband was a firefighter and I was an EMT with the Ambulance. Many times, we would both need to go to the same calls. It was a family commitment, and the family(our children) serves as well. We are in a smaller town where you know most of the people you are called to help(childrens' friends and family). God was always the extra person on the rig. Praise God.

My dad, my husband, my brother and nephews and cousins were all in law enforcement; a total of over 150 years of law enforcement service! I know the commitment and sacrifices you have to have. Many missed holidays, birthdays, anniversaries, sporting events, recitals, etc. Thankfully, law enforcement was respected during most of the years that they served but I thank God for keeping them all safe. It is not a career for everyone and it is definitely tough for the families too. I was and still am very, very proud of them. #AFH

I totally feel for you guys. My husband always wanted to be a cop. But end up doing the boating business because of my dad. Now, that I’ve watched this pod cast I’m glad he didn’t become one. Only because you pointed out somethings that I would never even thought of. Sorry to the both of you having to live through the sad part of law enforcement. 🤟🏼❤️🤟🏼❤️🤟🏼

I am now semi in charge of a walk with God that will include all of our churches and their congregations, and anyone else who loves the Lord and wants to share in a walk. A real walk one mile and a barbecue afterwards thank you for sharing your testimony it was so touching
