How to log-in into your PS4 without using a controller (2022 *WORKS*)

- Hi! In this video I show how to log in/sign in into a PS4 using a TV remote (without any controller)[How to start PS4 without controller] I hope this video helps alot of people. Maybe you need to do this because your parents took away your controllers and you wanna watch youtube maybe surf the internet on Ps4 or your controllers aren't working but yeah. It works fine. There are a few things to note tho:
1. The PS4 HDMI link option must be enabled for this to work. Its very simple to enable it, just go to PS4 settings then system and check the 'Enable HDMI Device Link' option.
2. You need a high-speed HDMI cable for this. If you don't get an option saying 'Playstation 4' on Aynet then you need to get a new HDMI cable. Im using a 5$ cable and it works.
3. This works on most T.V's. I can confirm this works on Samsung and Sony TV's. This feature is known as "HDMI-CEC". Different TV manufacturers have sub-names for this like Samsung calls it 'Aynet'
4. You can connect Mouse and Keyboard to your Ps4 and play Fortnite or any other keyboard/mouse supported games with it. You cannot play games with the T.V remote.

Can you set up a console ( ps4 ) without the offical controller from when its factory reset? Because we bought the ps4 but the controllers were broken so we bought a diffrent brands controller wich is the vx4 controller

if someone wanna ask how first turn on yr playstation and press the on botton top of the disc remover and let it go to rest mode then press it again and wait until the users come and then use yr ps4 with a keybord enjoy

I had the same problem. Try reconnecting the HDMI cable. If that doesn't work you might need a new HDMI cable. I bought a high speed HDMI cable (I had to put away the orignal PS4 Hdmi cable)

Well it depends, I think it works on most of modern TVs. My Tv is pretty old and it works!

Does it connect and work?
If it doesn't connect and show up in the menu: you might need a new High speed HDMI cable. I had to swap my orignal PS4 cable for a new one for this to work.
If it does connect, and doesnt show in menu: Try taking out the hdmi cable and switching ports or restart your tv.
btw for this to work, you need to have HDMI Link from PS4 settings enabled. Its very simple to enable that

Hi. Have you turned on HDMI LinK Feature on your PS4? If you haven't, you need to go to PS4 settings>system and check the 'Enable HDMI Device Link' option.
I tried doing this but everytime i press menu it shows the quick menu (the screen where you can only turn off, restart and enter rest mode)
Oh, well try clicking other options or different buttons on your remote. Or you can fiddle around with your TV settings. It might work properly then :)

Hmm. Maybe try to press other buttons on the remote like menu and explore the TV's setting. I am pretty sure you will find it somewhere. Also explore more of the Aynet+ or The connect feature of your tv. Please do tell me what happened after this.

@@vvoltage7950 Okay if nothing else is working, double check to see if HDMI link option is on, in your PS4. Just go to PS4 settings>system and check the 'Enable HDMI Device Link' option.

Uh that means that the T.v is not connected to the PS4, either the option is turned off in PS4's setting (HDMI LINK) or you have to go into T.v hdmi link (aynet for samsung) and connect to the Ps4, just watch my video one more time where I connect my ps4 to tv. Cheers

You can't play with the remote. However you can connect a mouse and keyboard and play games if they support it.

I was about to cry cuz I broke my controller bc of rage(reason:drift and it keeps doing it and interrupting my gameplay by moving it's self when I'm heal ling in Fortnite even I'm in keyboard so I took off the joystick by force).and I thought it broke but it's just a coincidence that it got low battery as fck coincidence rn are really wierd(this was helpful but my tv is multi which can be a monitor and not a literal tv that can do it but TNx)

Hello! This method does not work for monitor's.

Try changing the HDMI cable to a newer one. It didn't show for me either and I researched on this and found out older version of HDMI cables don't support this technology of controlling ps4 like this.
