This might be accurate, but as someone who lived in Israel, but not a Bibi fan, there is a lot more to it then that. The judicial system is messed up in many ways. For example, in Israel, when you retire from the supreme court, you pick your successor. Also, the supreme court can overrule any law the Knesset passes for no particular reason other then they don't like it. The real issue is that Israel doesn't have a constitution which leads to the judicial and parliamentary issues they face today. I do not agree with Bibi's version of reform, but there should be reform.
The judicial reform was suggested by both Yair Lapid and Benny Gantz, the opposition in the past. They just changed their mind because there has been a very obvious 10 year witch hunt against Bibi, who led Israel's GDP growth from 125 Billion to 525 Billion under his leadership. I think some of the reforms suggested make sense but the way they were presented (as well as the absolute trash we have in government/the Knesset) makes me very very wary of what the actual goals are (for instance - saving Bibi's skin from all the charges against him in several cases).

Ben Gurion before 1948 was extremely unpopular in Israel and seen as a British collaborator (because he was) our first election was just him seizing power while all of his opposition was away fighting. The supreme court always could block the government's decisions when it contradicts the law, the problem begins when the supreme court cancels the government decisions even when they have no law to back their judgment. Which many in Israel perceived it as unlawful and undemocratic.

You'd think news media would be more careful in their reporting considering people already don't trust it. At the end of the video when they were talking about the hospital bombing, the media was showing images of a destroyed building, but as it turns out, that wasn't really the hospital. That's one more thing that annoys the heck out of me with news media. The images they show us are NOT even related to their talking points. This might be accurate, but as someone who lived in Israel, but not a Bibi fan, there is a lot more to it then that. The judicial system is messed up in many ways. For example, in Israel, when you retire from the supreme court, you pick your successor. Also, the supreme court can overrule any law the Knesset passes for no particular reason other then they don't like it. The real issue is that Israel doesn't have a constitution which leads to the judicial and parliamentary issues they face today. I do not agree with Bibi's version of reform, but there should be reform.

The judicial reform was suggested by both Yair Lapid and Benny Gantz, the opposition in the past. I think some of the reforms suggested make sense but the way they were presented (as well as the absolute trash we have in government/the Knesset) makes me very very wary of what the actual goals are (for instance - saving Bibi's skin from all the charges against him in several cases).

The truth is we've never had a good government. Ben Gurion before 1948 was extremely unpopular in Israel and seen as a British collaborator (because he was) our first election was just him seizing power while all of his opposition was away fighting.
It is my hope that we can change this and eventually get the government we deserve, but the biggest obstacle in the way of that is the Supreme Court.

With the Free Press having the responsibility it does in an open free society, you would think the journalists would have to get some sort of accreditation like a lawyer, passing the bar or something along those lines. Up until September 2021, the United States had used its veto power in the United Nations Security Council to protect Israel from sanctions or resolutions critical of Israel's actions at least 41 times, out of a total 83 times in which its veto has ever been used in UN by US.
100% Israel and US habitually violate international law. So, pretending as if this is a both sides issues completely dismisses who is actually responsible.

Coleman I am half Italian and half Ethiopian I am also 80 years old I was educated in Italy. We studied international history. And actually have definitely more knowledge then more American kids. I was not able to comment on you participation on the history of black antisemitism. The Italians immigrants came to escape the oppression under the french, the Spanish, for whom their ancestors had to work. Some were briganti ( thieves) a large number chose to escape and they brought back skills and when they arrived they were put to work as carpenters, building skyscrapers and much more. Same for the Jews who arrived here to escape the nazi. They could play instruments and they too had skills. The difference between the Europeans and the Black population was the level of education but in both cases the reason was escaping or surviving oppression for centuries. Bottom line know world history. After the liberation of the slaves what did not happen here in America was the immediate integration of this entire Black population right after the civil war. Instead today the separation is still an open wound. Both sides kept separate in ignorance: yes both groups led by ignorance of what happened and what happens now in the rest of the world. Instead their only 😮place where they come together is in sports. Both side can tell you the history of their favorite star. But what about basic education? ……….language, history, geography, mathematics, science, latin, greek. With these skills they could hold a decent conversation anywhere with anyone and feel confident.
