Make no mistake, the 'Defense Department' is a rebranding of what was once called the War Department. We now have endless wars that have nothing to do with 'defense' or security. It's about economics.
Actually, the Department of the Army is the direct legal successor to the Department of War. The Department of the Army and the Department of the Navy used to be separate and report directly to the President. Now it's the Departments of the Army, Navy, and Air Force all reporting to the Secretary of Defense who reports to the President.
We've been in a perpetual state of war since our founding. Research the history of American war/armed conflict. There have been VERY few years (a surprisingly low number) that we have been at "peace".
1947-48 the national defense establishment combined the war department with the navy department simultaneously splitting the war department into the army & air force departments. With this the ucmj unified the court martial stuff and a defence secretary and 3 service secretaries overseeing this apparatus.
War is a business. As long as the military complex is able to buy politicians like you buy lap dances at a tittie bar this cruel joke of "fighting for our freedoms" will never end.

True, but soon it will just be drones with guns... then as we remove the human component the issue becomes one of at what line in the sand do we stop killing people. What level of offense becomes too low.
What people don't seem to understand is that when you accept the morality in the US conducting things like these then they automatically accept that other countries may freely eliminate people they percieve as threats in a similar manner. You should keep in mind that the German army during World War 2 initially rejected the idea of the Brandenburgers due to the simple fact that they broke the rules of conventional warfare in that they werent uniformed with the german army insignia. While It might be a stretch to say that the morality of the US army is worse than the nazi's I think It's worth pointing out that the idea of this kind of warfare was rejected initially by the german wehrmacht.
Parameter one of the guys I mentioned earlier was telling me about the other countries that use them (Russia, England, japan, Israel, Germany) and that the Russians also use lone operators that do amazing things “they’re showing me this thermal image of this building with... like 300 people in it and you see this one little dot go in and do whatever it did then leave and the heat signatures are all just fading to background.” Ya it sounds cool but where is the line drawn on what gets you killed, according to him they had to take a picture of the target and get a blood sample “we get in and out, we kill everyone, you don’t want them behind you.” To bring that back to the original point, other than the fact that the building is still there, how is that different than a drone strike?
@@jerkfudgewater147 Far harder to cover up a drone strike than having someone slip something into your food. I'm sure a whole lot of poison killings are listed as natural caused deaths. The most amazing thing to me about this video is that apparently this isn't common knowledge for most people. When I was a brand new private in the Army I got sent on a temporary duty as a gopher on a master sergeant promotion board. Just taking files to the colonels and sergeants major who were reviewing the people for promotion. We'd get a list of names with their social security numbers and we'd go pull those files, put them together, and drop them off. Then put them back when they were done. Every so often we'd come across names that would be listed as Doe, John 000-00-0001; Doe, John 000-00-0002, etc. We saw plenty of special forces guys in those files with all kinds of crazy backgrounds. So couldn't figure out what the John Does were all about. We were told those were Delta Force guys on active missions so their identity was top secret. Their files were kept in a safe. When they came up an armed MP would have to escort the file from the safe to the promotion board and stand by till they were done then escort the file back to the safe. None of us were allowed to leave until those files were back in the safe. There were maybe 100 of them, E-7s up for E-8..... And that was in 1996. When we weren't at war with anybody. And that's just Delta Force. Imagine how secret the CIA guys were.
Very interesting the way they set up the covers and fronts. Inside and outside of the military. Private contractors , but in reality , a Cia operation.
During 1996 when we "weren't at war with anyone", we were, in reality: 1) Intermittently bombing Iraq over a period of 12 years in between the two Gulf Wars. 2) Staging a coup d'etat in Albania. 3) Laying the ground work for our illegal and immoral invasion of Serbia for the purposes of: a) agitating the Russians b) ensuring the free flow of Bin Laden's heroin into Europe And about a dozen other ops which have materialized into the sort of proxy warfare prescribed by the PNAC. We are always at war, don't kid yourself.
@Hulk Hogan then watch the Nazi clip and see how much credability she gets back that you think she lost. Area 51 is all disinformation anyway. Who knows where to start.
JFK fricking LOVED the CIA, just not when their work shows up on the news. That is why he had the CIA try to kill Castro, and support the people who overthrew Diem in Vietnam, although ironically someone killed Kennedy a couple days before the South Vietnamese military (including at least one VC undercover operator) killed Diem.
Truly one of the most fascinating people I have ever listened to, incredibly thought provoking, what I would give to sit down and talk to her for an hour.
The ACT is what she is more talking about. We all know the CIA is Amoral but let's face it...some folks do need killing (I mean, we could have definitely been served better with the death of the guy who gave North Korea the Nuclear Secrets before he was able to make that exchange)
Wow how ignorant are you trying to be??? So the CIA is a bunch of sociopaths??? Funny that they’ve kept you safe while taking no credit and if they get killed they become an anonymous emblem on a wall!!! Also most CIA operatives are sheep dipped special forces soldiers, so yes your also bashing some of the toughest guys in the US military. You are totally right. CIA has no morals. They became an extension of the nazis that came to the US at the end of World War 2. And were heavily in the hearts & minds of Vietnamese.
She's been okayed to say and write these things by the CIA and for their sake. White-washing their crimes and the crimes of the US Govt. For, all these killings AND wars ("that we are having") are not to be examined through the lens of morality but necessity.

My family ran a garbage/recycling business for almost 40 years. We dealt with confidential paper shredding, as we have been certified to hold and destroy all forms of confidential paperwork, from hospital records, bank records, court documents, etc. One of the strangest occurrences of life happened when we had our community paper shredding day, which was sponsored by the local municipality. We’d clear our facility of any confidential paperwork and open up for one day for the public to bring in anything they could for shred day. Around lunchtime the last year we were open, a very professional looking and acting woman showed up in a vehicle with government plates and asked if there was a limit to the amount of material they could bring in. I said to her, “we’ll take anything you can get here, as long as it’s before the end of the day.” She came an hour before we were done for the day, this time, she had a man whom to my eye, appeared to be at least 80 years old, if not older. He was very, very German. He had a clear German accent, and was extremely sharp of the mind. Very polite as well. Anyway, this woman had your typical document boxes that paper is stored long term in. She had a Chevy suburban full of these boxes. She asked me if I could possibly double shred this paper work, as it was government property. I told her that it wasn’t necessary, as I myself was the only person after that point that would be in the building until it exchanged hands. She gave me $250 in cash to remove the shreddinga from our machine and shred it again… As I opened these boxes to shred this paper, it was quite clear to me, that I was shredding what possibly could have been the last personal rocket drawings and blueprints from some form of former German rocket engineer, whether he was a Nazi or just a German Man, I’ll never know…but what do know quite a bit about are technical drawings and blueprints for machinery, which was what I was shredding that day. Not to say too much, but I’ve thought about that day for quite some time, and I’m sure that what I witnessed was a man that was working on some sort of project for the government at some point, and his usefulness was up and he was made to dispose of anything that could implicate the government or himself. I firmly believe I disposed of what possibly should have been saved for posterity sake, whether good or bad. It’s gone forever now, but I know what I put my hands on, and it certainly wasn’t non-confidential drawings of rockets.
Great interview! Love how her perspective isn’t clouded by sentimentality. “Is it necessary?” Good and bad are far too variable parameters to base those decisions on. I’m going to go look for the full podcast of this one.

With this the ucmj unified the court martial stuff and a defence secretary and 3 service secretaries overseeing this apparatus.
sometimes the best Defense is Offense
War is a business. As long as the military complex is able to buy politicians like you buy lap dances at a tittie bar this cruel joke of "fighting for our freedoms" will never end.

I'd rather have confined CIA operations than drone strikes in a village.
The bottom line issue is that when a goverment decides to kill It needs to be accountable and take responsibility for the killing.
Parameter accountable to who? Even the great America has propaganda so thick no one knows what’s real, half the story or a complete lie... google (a DARPA creation) changes what it shows people based on what it thinks they want, what are the chances it’s not hiding stories deemed unflattering. The people this video, the South American media and this comment thread are talking about are not killing people with poison slipped into food, bullets made of poison sure sometimes but it’s either bullets or some other violent death.
Well CIA is acknowledged, DELTA( CAG) is well…. Non existent according to the pentagon
Very interesting the way they set up the covers and fronts. Inside and outside of the military. Private contractors , but in reality , a Cia operation.
I can't even imagine being a nameless shadow.
A nameless shadow, trained and equipped to be among the most efficient hunters and killers of men in the entire world.
During 1996 when we "weren't at war with anyone", we were, in reality:
1) Intermittently bombing Iraq over a period of 12 years in between the two Gulf Wars.
2) Staging a coup d'etat in Albania.
3) Laying the ground work for our illegal and immoral invasion of Serbia for the purposes of: a) agitating the Russians b) ensuring the free flow of Bin Laden's heroin into Europe
And about a dozen other ops which have materialized into the sort of proxy warfare prescribed by the PNAC.
We are always at war, don't kid yourself.

The ONLY difference between the CIA and the KGB is that one is spelled CIA and the other is spelled KGB.
The fact that you can say this without being murdered is itself proof that the CIA and KGB are not the same.
How so Nicholas veech
Exactly... America is the biggest threat to Liberty on earth
@@nicholasleach8770 The KGB didnt murder citizens they murdered politican dissidents.. ask the clintons and FBI about that.. America has been kiiling its own citizens for decades
@apx. pegasus Geopolitical hegemony? Do you even know a single thing about the Korean Peninsula? Clearly not.. The reason N.Korea even has a nuclear program is because America designed the conditions for it.. The Bush/Clinton/Obama regime have intentionally taunted invasion to force N.Korea to allocate resources to military and nuclear deterence, and since theyre communist/command economy this means starvation for their people.. So that the US can make them food-aid dependent and at the same time have a nuclear program to point to for a reason to invade. Clinton/Obama/Deep state whateve you want to call it.. The SWAMP.. does not want N.Korea to denuclearize. Thats what Jon Bolton meant when he said he sees the "Libya Model" for N.Korea. Thats why Trump fired him. Trump saw through all of this from the start. Thats why he was the first President in American history to cross that redline. He should honestly win a Nobel Prize and Im a leftist. But the Democrats/CIA/Military industrial complex are still trying to make sure that doesnt work out.. You should really have a proper look at the world some time and get out of your fake Propaganda CNN world

Great interview, I seriously don't think there's a better interviewer than Joe. Well done once again.
Conversationalist*, not really an interviewer

i don't know how much of this is boasting and exaggerations from the people she interivewed, or if she is gullible or she is fishing for the most grandiose stories to write her book. I have known many humans who will pump up their stories when they were 1/10 of relaity. I take all tales of CIA operatives with a grain of salt. Her book might be just a CIA funded propaganda to make it seem to the world they are this ever present, all powerful entity that can take you out on a whim. I take her stories for what they are, stories.

I said to her, “we’ll take anything you can get here, as long as it’s before the end of the day.”
She came an hour before we were done for the day, this time, she had a man whom to my eye, appeared to be at least 80 years old, if not older. She gave me $250 in cash to remove the shreddinga from our machine and shred it again…
As I opened these boxes to shred this paper, it was quite clear to me, that I was shredding what possibly could have been the last personal rocket drawings and blueprints from some form of former German rocket engineer, whether he was a Nazi or just a German Man, I’ll never know…but what do know quite a bit about are technical drawings and blueprints for machinery, which was what I was shredding that day.
Honestly ?
What year was that?

She needs to record her own audiobook for her new book
I thought I was going nuts till I came to the comments and realised I’m not the only one lol
Orlando Cruise seriously
Great interview! Love how her perspective isn’t clouded by sentimentality. “Is it necessary?”
Good and bad are far too variable parameters to base those decisions on.
I’m going to go look for the full podcast of this one.
She is very impressive and I love her low key demeanor and voice!
no, of course cia killing are not justified, as they're never killing out of necessity or self defense, they kill because they are hardcore psychopaths, which is why they can never win any of the wars they start ... in other words; she's a narcissist
Genuine question...are you a lesbian? The reason i ask is that I personally think most straight men will post similar comments (just look at the comments section for proof) ranging from the most subtle to the more sexually extreme end of the spectrum... but i wonder if gay men and straight women are NOT affected by her voice the same way straight men (and gay women?) seem to be.
Straight men will "pay attention" to this women the way a gay man would not (but granted, actually take in what she is saying, were a straight man will most likely zone in and out).
Or....maybe its actually more simple and everyone is affected by a voice like hers the exact same way?
@@emowookie9337 genuine question r u single? Cause if u can only pay attention to a woman if she's hot or a hot voice that's prob not a good thing. And I'm not criticizing just wondering if you have a tough being in a relationship.
