With around 120 figures released in the Classified Series so far (and I have bought almost all of them), there have been mediocre Joes for sure, but Helix is about average for the line and I would say on the whole the entire line scores 8/10. As a Marvel Legends collector going back to Toybiz series 1, Legends right now averages 3.5/10 with every new release. The good figures are always a surprise and we get maybe two or three a year, whereas we get dozens of good Joes every year. The difference between the two Hasbro lines is absolutely astonishing and it's inexcusable what they have done with Legends over the past half decade. THANK YOU, Anthony, for making this video. The fact that you did it with an average figure and not a special deluxe release or convention exclusive speaks volumes. Your honesty and integrity have long made you one of my favorite reviewers, and those traits are essential if we're going to properly assess the stone-cold fact that the Legends team is incompetent and needs to be replaced, or at least be held to the same standard the Classified team is. Bravo, Anthony.

Oooh, I actually plan on getting Agent Helix very soon! She’s so interesting to me, mainly because she first appeared in a video game! She was created for the 2009 GI Joe: Rise of Cobra movie game and named after the developer, Double Helix (which is also the name of the shape of DNA). She was then put in the movie toyline and incorporated into the Real American Hero and IDW comic book continuities. She’s also autistic-coded, which is awesome for an autistic person like me! 😊

I bought Helix a while back. I'm satisfied with her. Her left leg wasn't straight because of bad packaging, but very solid figure. I'm loving the G.I. Joe line. Even the more expensive Joe figures come with a lot of stuff. I believe the Joe line is better because they are competing with Valaverse, which I think is making both lines better.

When you bring up Hasbro using licensing as their excuse for making garbage, the Has-Bros always have an answer:
Diamond Select: They're 7 inches and the articulation is bad, so it's different.
Imports: Well imports are really expensive and ML are way better.
LEGO: Those are Legos, so it doesn't count.
These guys always have some sort of reasoning as to why Hasbro is the only one affected by licensing.

Diamond Select - their new Captain America, nuff said
Imports: All of the new SHF Naruto figures has way better articulation than every ML figure (including Toybiz stuff), also the SHF kid Naruto is $30, same with Shippuden Naruto, SROE Goku, Luffy, etc
Legos: completely different type of toy
Hasbro just be out there making the wildest complaints

those arm weapons were designed after Cyberpunk. Helix herself has been around since the mid-2000s. She had a 3-inch figure and basically dressed the same way. I don't know much about her other than she has Autism which gives her an ability similar to Marvel Taskmaster. She was in my top ten. I mean my number one was a tie between General Hawk and Snowjoe. Where it was difficult to do a top 10 Legends because of how many bad one....classified was the other way around. It was hard to make a top ten cause of too many good ones.

Awesome figure despite some of it's drawbacks and what a difference from the marvel legends. She looks great next to your figure line as well. I'm also not too familiar with this line but I've definitely picked some up due to the quality and the great character designs looking good for stop motion projects of mine. I even have the small 3.5 inch version of this character which looks neat and will still probably pick this scale up too

  • @MadThanos79

I collect all G.I. Joe Classifieds and also get a select few Marvel Legends, mostly MCU figures, because their design and scale match well with my Joes, but as you point here yourself, although they are from the same company and the same scale, they are most definitely not made by the same designers and probably not made in the same factories. G.I.Joe figures are overall better quality products than Marvel Legends for sure.

Absolutely blows my mind that Joes have been doing the same (and what should be standard) articulation for females as they have for males basically since the line started but 2 cubicles over the ML team just started doing it for females, calls it ‘super articulated’ and have only done it on two characters and both have been Target exclusives but people are losing their minds on how amazing they are.

  • @juancarlosmarquez7231
    @juancarlosmarquez7231 8 месяцев назад +3

Just speculation on my end, the articulation design is being outsourced and is being done by one firm for multiple vendors (Hasbro, Mcfarlane, Bandai) hence the similar design limitations.
On a different topic, those drop down hips add a degree of fragility to Hasbro figures that need not be there.

Classified figures come with their own set of annoyances, personally I get very frustrated with the lack of extra hands, and the drop-down hips absolutely drive me up the wall for the exact reasons you show in the video! It's definitely cool to get a bunch of guns and equipment, and many of the figures actually have really great and well-executed face/hair/hat options, but personally I would gladly trade a few guns for another set of hands. The trigger-finger hands essentially force you to display every figure holding something in both hands, because they look absolutely ridiculous when they aren't holding anything, which severely limits posing options. Overall though, the sculpt detail, proportions, faces, paint apps, accessory count - by most metrics the average level of quality for this line is undeniably leaps and bounds above Marvel Legends. Judging from your video I would say this one is completely average for the line, nothing really special but a beautiful face and a nice vibrant colour scheme goes a long way. Would love to see more GI Joe reviews!

I think (and I'm just assuming) this is more than just money. Sure GI Joe belongs to Hasbro but this huge difference can't be just that...
(That being said I got to be fair and say that in my neck of the woods Classifieds are more expensive than Marvel Legends)
BTW: the bad leaning forward with huge leaning back has been an issue with pretty much all figures from all companies. Always considered this to be very weird - why not make it lean forward a lot and barely no leaning back instead? 🙄

Nice looking figure; unique character. But my figure is all loosey goosey. Shit hardly stand up with how loose it was outta the package. It was kind of the figure that made me truly start to despise Hasbro.

For some reason Hasbro gi joe department is better than marvel department.

Nice figure, bad character. Basically the Mary Sue of the JOE team. I bought one to customize into a ninja April O'Neil using the head from the original classified series Scarlett.

And then there’s Transformers the other line Hasbro owns where they keep raising the prices to ridiculous levels for cheap hollow gappy figures with barely any paint, this is all enabled by a fanbase that will dogpile anyone who brings this up, they’d lose their collective minds if there was a TF reviewer as vocal as you are about legitimate criticisms

The consumers dictate what happens with luxury goods. No way around it.

For some figures they actually started adding alt heads/hands but honestly that's the only big issue I have with Classified: Not enough of it. Still the best line Hasbro has going right now.

Classified continues to blow just about everything else Hasbro does out of the water.
This isn't even one of the better figures (she's fine, especially for a fairly obscure character, but nothing special).
