I'm 60- this is the music that was playing on my mom's radio in the kitchen when I was 3-4...This music sounds like those times. Thank you Ma'am, and Rest in Peace...
I'm 73. This song was playing on MY transistor radio when I was riding my horse along the Medina River outside Bandera, Texas, when I was 16. I don't know what the wild turkeys, cattle and the Angora goats thought of that symphony, but I was in 7th Heaven. Thanks, Ronnie. Rest in peace.
I got to see her live when she was about 70-she still looked and sounded fabulous. Be My Baby is one of the great singles of all time. She also sounds fantastic on a song called When I Saw You. RIP Ronnie-you brought much joy to millions.
Ronnie Spector was such a beautiful singer. I loved when she sang on Eddie Money's '"Take Me Home Tonight". She sung on it " be my little baby" which is from her own song. RIP Ronnie. 🌺 Eddie and Ronnie are making music in heaven now.
R.I.P. Ronnie! You were a big huge part of my upbringing! Even though I'm a 2nd generation fan my father loved playing the Ronnettes as well as the Shirelles, Dee Dee Sharp and many more! I am so blessed to have been raised around the classic Oldies But Goodies music and your legacy shall live on forever! Peace My Lady✌🙏
My heart broke and tears filled my eyes when i heard that the voice I loved since the early sixties had fell silent. I have to admit I had a crush on Ronnie Spector that lasted till this day. She had that tremendous and distinct voice that came from the best rock and roll of the fifties thru early seventies. The Ronnetes songs and others from that era of rock also brings tears when I think of simpler times when all of my family was still alive and we used to listen on our little wooden radio to those girl groups that captured our hearts and souls.
We lost another great talent who had a voice which will never be equaled. Veronica, Estelle, and Nedra, were truely among the top girl groups of the 60`s with their powerful voices backed up by the wall of sound. I`m so glad that I have several of their songs on my Juke box, my favorite, Walking in the rain. RIP Ronnie.
We've lost yet another talented musician, I never realized Ronnie was short for Veronica, or that she was the Ronnie in Eddie Money's hit song... Take Me Home Tonight. Her Ex. Phil Spector was a Genius, but only music industry insiders really understand his musical achievements, and struggles with mental issues. There is a good RUclips documentary on The Wall of Music, it showed me just how Important this man was.
My husband and I had the privilege of seeing Ronnie Spector perform all around CT and NYC. She was the most graciously generous woman; delivering a performance like no other, then hanging out for hours after her show meeting and greeting devoted fans. She was classy, sassy, sweet, and super intelligent. I’ll cherish my memories of her, one of the fiercest, bravest, loveliest souls to grace this earth. Thank you Miss Ronnie for giving so much of yourself to the world. ✌🏽🙏🏽♥️
Oh dear. I'm SO sad about this. Love The Ronettes. I have a fantastic CD containing all their hits, and play it regularly. What a voice Ronnie had. RIP sweet girl.
Thank You ABC for the great piece you've done on Ronnie Spector..Your kind and loving retrospective on her amazing voice and life and was by far the best I've seen.. Thank You..
In an age [now] when every single piece of new music sounds the same and every new singer's vocal sounds the same, one could not help but always hit the 60s button on the radio when needing a dose of great music. Just yesterday I sang along to Be My Baby on the car ride home. The news hit me like a 2X4 as I was convinced she would live forever.
My condolences goes out to Ronnie spector family. I love the song be my baby now and other songs, christmas song sleigh bells. She was a legend, an icon. Her legacy will live on. She will be missed. Rip Ronnie spector 👼😢🙏
Didn't know who she was....but knew and loved, loved, loved her voice and the song.... Were exceptional.... I will love Her singing And that of the group Til I die.... Beautiful Feel good music and lyrics....
