Hats off to the singer who stood in for Estelle and gracefully stepped aside to have her accept the applause.
I agree. Who is that younger singer?
@@paulbakker6765 I've been wondering who she is the whole pandemic.
Oh,I was just going to ask why the lady on the left has aged better than the other two ladies lol.Whats the story with this stand in singer?
I could cry when I think of what happened to Estelle Bennett she dated George Harrison friends with Lennon & McCartney, the stones supported THEM, to think those guys didn't reach out & help her when she was suffering with her health & homelessness FFS Macca's a Billionaire why didn't they help.
I agree. She is a class act !
RIP the two members of The Ronettes
Estelle Bennett (July 22, 1941 - February 11, 2009), aged 67
Ronnie Spector (August 10, 1943 - January 12, 2022), aged 78
You both will be remembered as legends.
there was a 3rd member??
@@mimilopmemes7915 yes! nedra talley. she is the only one left.
Estelle was alive then. Was she too ill to sing?
@@janshelton189 Somewhere in the article it said that Estelle was to sing that night but her metal instability prevented from performing, so a back-up singer was called in to do her part.
Yes, Nedra Talley.@@mimilopmemes7915
Ronnie's voice is magic. May she rest in peace.
Hey vinny
Phil thought so too.
I hope not. I hope she is in Heaven singing her heart out before the Lord-
God! She was completely off key!
@@massimosigismondi699she was 66 years old here you dimwit
RIP Ronnie, your voice was magical! 💔
Not only was, is and will be, forever, because her legacy is priceless.
It truly was
Yes but not here. Flat.
luv ya 4evr
Too bad she's not here to listen to her music or perform
My gosh, Ronnie’s voice is still amazing. She’s amazing.
Rest In Peace Ronnie ! Thank you for sharing your beautiful voice with the world!! 💔
ご冥福をお祈り致します!
One of the best singing voices of all time…. RIP
Jet voice is awful
@@lenzotrumpet obviously it got worse with age
@@lenzotrumpet la voz puede variar dependiendo de muchos factores, pero jamás por la edad de una persona, te escribe una cantante

This truly must be one of the greatest pop songs of the 20th century.
Of all time
Brian Wilson said it was THE best pop song ever written.
Absolutely Agree...!!!
Totally
i believe this song is the greatest pop song ever - beach boys and beatles agree - they mention this song as he song that changed their music - amazing
I sang this to my daughter after she was born. She was born premature and it was a scary time. And now she's almost 8 ❤️
That’s sweet! I’m glad she’s okay!
I'm glad your baby is OK.
Beautiful choice to sing to your little one. Hope you’re playing it loud today! ❤️
May God Bless You Both! 🙏
GOD BLESS YOUR DAUGHTER!!!!YOUR BABY
The way Veronica and Nedra look at each other at 1:50 melts my heart. This happiness of being together and singing this beautiful song after so much time...
Ronnie was one of the most beautiful women in the world. So natural with a gorgeous smile. The Ronettes were an amazing group. When I hear them singing I’m 14 again in the sixties. RIP Ronnie. 😔💜
What a fantastic mix this is, Ronnie is great as ever. RIP Estelle.
@@JC-uq5gi i think that’s their cousin Nedra from the original group 🤔 or Estelle’s daughter
@@Broadwayriah That’s Nedra in the gold dress I have no idea who the other lady is
R.I.P Ronnie
If there's a heaven, this song is playing as you enter. She has the voice of an angel.
What a great start to eternity
Had she been born 40 years earlier, the girl who stood in for Estelle could have been the fourth Ronette. She fitted in perfectly and, well, just moved like a Ronette. It was such a poignant gesture when she stood aside and helped Estelle to take her place with the others for the applause. A wonderful moment in time.
i was thinking the same, a lovely woman !!
Who come she didn't sing?
@@spendingtimetogether8428 She didn't feel comfortable singing at that time, she was in a pretty bad place at that point in her life.
the girl is tricia scotti,,, she was a regular back up singer with ronnie,, and she fitted in ,,,,,perfectly
@Etruria civilization And so goes the actual recording. It is written that the real Ronettes often did not sing on their own records and if they did several voices were added in the background as well. Which is why inducting the Ronettes into the Hall of Fame is rather pointless.
I'm so glad that Ronnie and Estelle were able to live to see this honor that was SO long overdue. R.I.P. Veronica (Ronnie) Bennett-Spector and Estelle Bennett
This song will never go out of style. We are still listening 50 decades later.
5 😂
Some of us are 5 decades older.
Hey christine
No había nacido aún soy de los 80 pero las amo
Yes
Ronnie Spector STILL looks amazing.
ùhh. I have some news
We lost legendary icon Ronnie Spector today 🕊 🕯
Thank you for the music Ms. Spector-The Ronettes
Ronni Spector, one of my favorite female vocalist, and female group of the 60's and 70's. Ronni, you brought joy, and happiness to millions of people all over the world. Just singing your hit Be My Baby! Rest in heaven Ronni, most of all God bless you in heaven.
Hello Sheila
Astonishing! After all these years it still sounds so fresh.
Such a classic. So glad the three of them were honored during their lifetime. Rest in peace, Estelle & Ronnie. ❤️
Love the percussionist playing the mounted tambourine with the drumstick and the rattle. It produced a unique sound in this and a few other great songs from this era.
One of my favorite songs ❤ all time classic
So sad to hear that Ronnie entered immortality yesterday! I am in mourning. I love you Ronnie Spector and thank you so much for all of the great music
Originals can never be replaced, their singing voices can still be echoed throughout the years into the future, Thx for the memories!
The original Ronettes were replaced many times in the recording studio and even live. The Ronettes opened for the Beatles on tour in 1966 without Ronnie but with an unknown replacement... and no one was the wiser. Phil Spector often used session singers instead of the original Ronettes on the recordings. In fact, I read that Ronnie would often be in the studio recording while the Ronettes would be on tour with a replacement. And you know, the audience did not seem to mind or even care or even know the difference.
I’m so thankful and lucky to have the greatest grandpa in the entire world that introduced me into his era of music as a kid and still to this day as an Adult on his JukeBox. Rest In Everlasting Peace as I hope all your questions have now been answered 🙏🏼🙏🏼
Whay a great song! One of the most romantic ones ever written.
As someone that shook hands with Tina Turner I must say I wish I had met Ronnie Spector. This song is so memorable and what a great voice she has! Absolutely Wonderful! What a great time we had!
Anyone listening in 2021. Great music , real talent, and ageless!
Yo desde Argentina 2021
always love the oldies , even in 2021 things was simpler back then
Thanks RUclips for allowing us to reminisce about the oldies during the COVID-19 Pandemic.

👍🏽Feb 2021, saludos desde México👋🏽, que tengan buena salud y sigan cuidándose 😷
The Ronettes are the greatest girl band of all time.
The supremes !!!
Rodrigo Castillo Buendia That title goes to the Supremes, matey
They were singers, a girl group, not a band.
Gogo's, Bananarama, Expose, Covergirls, Sweet Sensation, etc.
The highest selling girl group of all time is the Spice Girls (90 million). Next is the Andrews Sisters (80+) million.
Their presence is so amazing, really puts a smile on your face, exudes happiness! And this song is a masterpiece, absolutely beautiful! ❤️❤️❤️🥲
Good quality music has no expiration date, it's a success forever!!!
One of the greatest songs of all time
I remember this song being song to me from my late father. RIP beautiful and iconic soul.
THE RONETTES ,❤ FOREVER FABULOUS !!!! “ TRULY LEGENDS “🌹🌹🌹
よかね!大好き!!
great song indeed and I am singing along.
R.I.P Estelle.
Damn! What a band! Anton Fig! Will Lee! Strings! Tons of background singers, the moves! Goddamn! Wonderful!
One of the great live performances that I have ever seen. I just watched their performance of "Baby I Love You" and this one is just as eloquent. The vocal orchestration is superb and did you catch how the musicianswere responding? Such joy at being part of this iconic song and one of the best ones made in the 1960's. Oh to be part of a performance such as this?!!!
Good LORD. What a beautiful performance. Her voice has aged like fine wine and still has the same effect from when I first heard this song for the first time. Amazing.
Can't get more dramatic than that! Sometimes your disappointed with the live version, but the band and ronnie nailed it.
*you're
Here to pay my respect to the beautiful and beyond talented Ronnie Spector. I was so looking forward to the new music you were working on sista 😪💔
What a treasured gift to the world. My God.
RIP Ronnie Thanks for the music all of these many years ! I grew up with you
I’m 72 & I grew up in the 1960’s & loved this music of Phil Spector. Phil was a genius in the music business.(Ronnie Spector) & the Ronettes, the Crystals, etc. Music is so easy to dance to. Such great memories 🥰
It’s 9/9/24 in Austin, Tx! Great song and singers! Seniors were great in ‘68! I’m 75 and still rockin to the ‘60s🥳🎶
Beautiful! Ronnie sounds great and Nedra is just living her best life in this moment. Then bring Estelle on for the bow; where's my box of tissues? R.I.P. beautiful Bennett sisters.
This song is like hearing "I want to hold your hand" by the Beatles - forever fresh, exciting, new. I loved seeing them together on this for the last time. They were the essence of cool. RIP Ronnie.
The song had a big influence on both Brian Wilson and John Lennon.
@@123Goldhunter11 Yes. Brain was bowled over by it. He even wrote "Don't Worry Baby" for them, but likely due to red-tape they never recorded it. Ronnie did sing it on stage in later years. If you read the Ronnie's book "Be My Baby". John Lennon was attracted to Ronnie when they met up on their arrival in NYC in '64 at the Plaza Hotel. Ronnie sat on Johns lap and she just said "I was naive then, but I did know what was on Johns mind" LOL The Ronettes were on the bill when the Beatles did Shea in '66.
You are so right! For a while I thought I was alone in this 😀
@@ismarwinkelman5648 "Rock around the clock" is like that too.
I am very happy to see them still performing . Ladies , I was just a kid when this came out , thank you for helping my young life to be a special time .
I read that the Ronettes except for Ronnie, did not sing on the original recording.
I am so deeply crushed beyond words on this night of the day we lost Ronnie. Among the very 1st songs that caught my attention on the radio when I was little is "Be My Baby". No matter how many times you hear it, it sweeps you up in its Love, Drama, and Intensity. It's so honest, passionate, & filled with Love. And, of course, the "Oh~Oh~Ohs" are Everything. I Love You, Ronnie, and I Always Will. ❤️🤍❤️ Love, Jennifer ❤️🤍❤️
what a great performance love their music and to hear the news of estelle then ronnie passing is shocking to me cause i have been listening to their music while in quarantine in 2021 both will be missed 😭😭🙏🙏
The Legends!!! Was so happy to see all 3 of them together at the end 😍😍😍

As a teenager that was my favorite song and still is that song met a lot to me and it spoke to me about so many many things that I was about to encounter my journey in life
Her voice is no longer what it used to be, but her persona still shines !!!!!

Wonderful songs from the Wall of Sound as the echo of the past, what a great voices, thank you Ronnie for the music and rest in peace. ♥
Timeless ! Just listen to that bass ... wow !
I'd like to thank the backing musicians and singers. Of course it is right to focus on the 'stars' but they would be nothing without the talents of those who supply the rest of the sounds. Great work guys.
So very sorry that Ronnie has passed she was just great! Her music will live on in my heart!
Ronettes is one of my favorite 60'band
Powerful, beautiful & doesn't get any better than that!!!
This song is so beautiful! It's timelss!!!!
We were so blessed to be raised on Ronnie.. Just a bunch of Irish guys and girls growing up in a ghetto, week to week.. But we had Motown and good Rock and roll...
Stunning performance.
Nedra wasn’t playing. She came to perform. The ending was beautiful when they brought Estelle back out. 👏 👏 👏
Still a great song and singers, talent never goes out of fashion.
