    • @PRC2019
      @PRC2019  3 месяца назад +4

      Because instead of Kennywood buying a prototype and getting the world's first (and risking more major issues), someone else already has the prototype to work out the model kinks before adding the first one in the states.
      Additionally, the vast majority of American parks that needed an invert either got a BM or a Vekoma product 20+ yrs ago. I wouldn't be surprised if the prototype was built with Kennywood in mind.

      Ikr? It's not even open 95% of the time. It's a waste of space. They should just tear the damn thing down and replace it with something they can manage. Or bring back all the rides they removed over the last 5 years or so that everyone was sad to see go.

      It would not be out of character for Kennywood to go for a "first in the US" model. As they did with Exterminator, Sky Rocket, and Steel Curtain. Heck, even Phantom's Revenge is a one-of-a-kind ride, but that's Kennywood-style more like the Thunderbolt.

    Just got back from Cedar Point and the Zamperla Wild Mouse is a REALLY good model. I know Exterminator is a wild mouse, but if that’s on the way out, the Zamperla model would be a great reference. The cars were really spinning today, and it was great!

    • @RideManDave
      @RideManDave 2 месяца назад +1

      Funny thing about that...
      Exterminator is a Reverchon ride. When Reverchon went under, they got bought by...you guessed it...Zamperla. So Cedar Point's ride is really a direct-line descendant of the Exterminator. It's the same ride with a modified car and a different layout...that is, it's essentially the same ride system.

    I think you are spot on about a need for a family coaster with a shorter height requirement. Jack rabbit has a low height requirement at 42, but it can be a lot for little ones. The racer is a lot more tame, but the difference between 42 and 46 inches can easily be a couple of summers. The low height requirements at Dollywood look so appealing.

    The current rumors I've been hearing for the plot of land next to the skyrocket is that it will be used for a new turnpike ride. For the next coaster I've heard that thay made a deal with sansei to get a vekoma family suspended coaster(and steel curtain fixed) where phantom's line is currently with phantom's line being re done to bring it closer to the exit of the ride.

    • @PRC2019
      @PRC2019  3 месяца назад +1

      Not unfounded, but I believe the "Vekoma" family invert you're expecting to come to Kennywood was already purchased, built, and been open for a few seasons now...
      It's called Merlin's Mayhem at Dutch Wonderland and it is actually an S&S family invert, not just a Vekoma sold by S&S.
      I can't envision Kennywood going down either of those roads, however.

  • @highoctaneadventure

    That Gerstlauer invert is terrifying and a lot more intense than it looks. It tries to eject you from the train along the lines of Skyrush. Only thing is they were having lots of problems and down time with it, with periodic announcements of extended downtime.
    A new family steel coaster like the one at Dollywood would be great.

  • @Kennywood_Fanatic

    The idea of an invert would be great, I think that the ride would be a little short, I think I’d prefer a new gen Vekoma STC, also where would the station go? That plot that you pointed out won’t be big enough without removing candy kaleidoscope, so I hope it happens, but idk, don’t get me wrong, I’d love for this to be the next investment, and I do like the points you’ve made, I just am kinda skeptical

      Anything is possible, but the lack of Vekoma products found in there parks would lead me to think otherwise. Also the Vekoma stc would require more land than Kennywood can afford to dedicate imo.

      They have expanded the footprint via land acquisition twice in the last 20 yrs, but since the "Lost Kennywood" and "Steelers country" areas debuted, not so much. Eventually, I do seem them heading into the Ravine behind the racer and Jackrabbit perhaps with a station near the current day picnic pavilions.

    • @nohandle227

      IMO it could be done, but for a price. They could in theory, bury RT 837 with a tunnel and build the park over it. You would lose the iconic entrance tunnel, but the entire lower parking lot is up for grabs. The upper lots will stay, but have the park buy the shopping center on top to make more parking. They used to own all that land but sold some of it in the 70's to keep the park afloat.
