I love the novel touches you bring to the table. So much of youtube is filled with people just copying each others recipes, but your stuff is all you. Amazing :D
You are a Genius Elliz. The only authentic vegan Malay favourites not found anyway in the world but here! So thankful to you for bringing Malay delicacies to me and rest of the world. May your channel spread far and wide!
Hi Eliz, thanks for all these wonderful vegan recipe. My husband and I recently decided to be full vegan after being vegetarian for many years now. You've given me hope to enjoy many Malaysian food while being vegan so thank you. On another note, do you have a cafe that serves all these yummy vegan food? Or know any vegan cafe around KL for us to try beside Sala and The Vegan Cafe? Also I tried making the Malay Curry Fish from your Vlog last night and it was yummy. Thanks again!
Hi Catherine, you're most welcome! Congratulations to you both ✨ I don't have a cafe, unfortunately! Haha. One of my favourite places to go is The Hungry Tapir. And if you love Malay food, Hijau at Rex KL is absolutely incredible! Let me know if you give them both a try! 💛 And thank you, I'm so glad you enjoyed the curry
Omg this looks sooo good..I'm not a vegan but I'm slowly trying to avoid meat..I'm not a fan of the fishy broth in asam laksa so I often avoid this dish ...now that I saw this video I'm really intrigued to try this out 😍😍😍
Thank you so much!! We miss this very much. Now I can make this for my family. Can you do a video also for vegan Belacan? I think this is so important for Vegan laksa and other dishes.
You're most welcome! Can't wait to hear what you think of this recipe. It's one of my favourites ❤️ For vegan belacan I usually substitute it with seaweed and miso or fermented soy beans. Depending on where you are, it's possible to source vegan belacan too! But I find the seaweed/miso/fermented bean combo to be just as good
@@yunac.7698 Oh, that's a tough one. Torch ginger is essential to the flavour of this laksa, it's a hard one to substitute. But if you must leave it out, I suggest that you add extra daun kesum or Vietnamese coriander. Let me know how it goes for you!
Wow, this looks great! I know my husband would love me to give this a try. I hope I can find Al the ingredients in Jaya Grocer? Or do I have to go to a pasar malam? I’m not sure about the Vietnamese coriander or the flower, or the asam bering. I’ll have to have a look!! Which tofu did you use? It didn’t look like the usual square tofu blocks here in Malaysia or the silken tofu either…
Thank you! Can't wait for you to give it a try. I think you can find these ingredients at most supermarkets! I don't live in KL so I can't say for sure which one to go to though. Let me know how it goes! 🌸😊
This looks amazing! I have never tasted the real assam laksa, but I will definately make this. I don't think I can find torch ginger here where I live, any idea for subsitute? I have some "vegan belacan" that I got from Indonesia which I definately excited to try to use in this recipe.
Thank you! Torch ginger flowers have a very unique taste, and hard to find a substitute for. But if you can find Vietnamese coriander it should still taste like asam laksa! Wow, vegan belacan from Indonesia, I'm sure that will taste really good in here! Let me know how it goes if you try 😍
Amazing recipe!!! Looks soooooo good. I love your videos. I'll have to do some extensive searching in the asian market for some of these ingredients! Get me back to Malaysia already haha!

Amazing! I wish I could get all the ingredients to do this but I can’t! 😔 Nevertheless I’ll try an approximation as best as I can! 😀
Yeah, this one is a bit of a toughie! But I'm sure with enough experimentation you could figure something out! Let me know if you do hehe

I'd send some over to you if it wouldn't be stopped by customs! Haha 💕 Thanks so much, Amy x I'm really happy with how this laksa turned out!
Looks amazing!!! Macam reallll
Thank you, Gan! My non vegan mum said it tastes better than the one with actual fish haha
this is soo clever omg
Thank youuuu! I wanted to get it as close as possible to the non vegan version
Kalau tak nak add on garlic dan onion, k tak? Parents vegetarian
Hi, kalau tak nak add boleh ja. Maybe taste lari sikit but I'm sure it'll still taste nice ☺️
Eating vegetarian meals can nurture mercifulness and will not kill animals thoughtlessly.
Good asam laksa recipe
Thank you for sharing.
Absolutely! Thank you so much, happy you enjoyed the recipe! 🌴💚
Actually onion and garlic it's not vegan
