It’s also nice to see that Mothra is still alive in the end of the movie and not killed off again. Meaning she’s probably sharing responsibility keeping the other titans in check along with Godzilla or just patrolling hollow earth.
I'm glad she didn't die too. I was so scared that she was gonna get hit by shimo or Skar King and get killed again. I'm glad that wasn't the case.
If the movie had a post-credit scene I feel like it wouldn’t necessarily be important to the story and instead just maybe be Mothra laying with Godzilla in the coliseum because she survived the movie and Godzilla just looked happy when he saw her again
I'm actually happy to see Mothra in the movie as she was even more beautiful than ever. I also like that Adam Wingard kept Mothra's design from King Of The Monsters which I like alot. I hope to see her in the future movies and even see her have a solo movie
Because Mothra in GxK returns by a summoning ritual and not through egg which means the giant egg they found in KoTM could be a Battra's egg
Or maybe mothra before the big fight in 2019 entered the hollow earth to lay her egg. Then throughout the years before GXK she spent her time as a Larva slowly growing before becoming a cocoon hidden on the top of the pyramid.

@@UMIF001she doesn't appear out of nowhere. You can see a general form of her on top of the pyramid before she wakes. Plus her string barrier was already set up. So it's implied that she hatched, transformed, and went down there prior to the beginning of the movie, then camouflaged herself and hibernated there until Jia reached her.

I personally am not a big Mothra fan. However it made sense that she would be the one to convince Godzilla to help. I really want to see Rodan !! Let us see him fight !!
I wish Legendary made a Mothra solo film. I would love to see a modern remake of Mothra. We hear Mothra's roar at the end credits of GxK.

I not only grew up with Godzilla, but I also grew up with Mothra as well. She means as much to me as Godzilla does and since the end of Godzilla: King of the Monsters and Godzilla vs. Kong I've been dying to see her come back again. Someday soon I intend to see this new masterpiece with my sister who's just as big of a Godzilla super fan as I am, and one reason why we want to see it so badly is because we want to see the Queen of the Monsters return. Let me see my Queen once again in ALL her glory! Let me see the one and only King and Queen of the Monsterverse standing side by side again!!!!!🦋🦋🦋🦋🦋👑👑👑👑👑❤❤❤❤❤
It was only a matter of time before Mothra returned, and I was expecting it ever since that little “Mothra egg found” was stated in the credits.
Mothra is my favorite monster and her reincarnation power is what really makes her near unstoppable. 😅

Mothra is my favorite kaiju/titan of all time. I'm so happy they brought her back. The relationship between Mothra and Godzilla is something I would love to see explored in the next film. I want to see the inciting event that lead to Godzilla respecting her.
Something I thought of in regards to the news article at the end of King of the Monsters. In the article it says "Could giant insect egg be a second Mothra... or something else?" So what if the egg turns out to be Battra?
I would *truly* love to see Battra reinterpreted into the MonsterVerse. Perhaps he could physically embody darkness as opposed to mothra's light but unlike Camazotz, his darkness isn't purely malevolent or intentionally frightening to humans.

I thought her egg was camoflauged like the eiwi's village barrier, but more like a cacoon, that is able to bend light or turn invisible or something. I'm not saying her egg was in the hidden eiwi village, but her cacoon was there so she could go from Larva to her Imago stage.
Mothra returning to hash out 2 other monsters' fighting to take on the real threat sounds very fine and plausible...almost like it has happened before... like in Ghidorah the 3 headed monster about 50-ish years ago!!
Having Mothra back was one of the biggest highlights for this movie. She has always been my second favorite kaiju/titan after Godzilla. I hope we get to see more of her in later films

It's pretty obvious from watching the movie that Mothra was never supposed to be in it originally. She (literally) appears out of thin air, with no larva form. Not to mention that the egg somehow moved from the Amazon to the Hollow Earth
She is the guardian of humanity,considering Scar king intentions on invading earth it was clear as hell why would she return
She didn't actually. She was camouflaged on top of one of the pyramids. If you look closely as Jia was climbing the pyramid you can see Mothra is resting there in a near invisible state, already transformed. Plus, her string barrier was already blocking the area. So the implication is she hatched and transformed off screen and made her way to the pyramid and hybernated there until Jia arrived.

@@ikaiju-eu9wnno a different Kaiju named Fosfera was meant for Mothras appearance, but due to Test screenings not liking Fosfera because she was being too similar to Mothra and had a way too ugly and weird design she was cut and replaced with Mothra and that's also why Mothra here doesn't have a larva form

I really liked seeing Mothra as well. I think the way she was written into the storyline was perfect. It also made sense, especially since a Mothra egg was found at the end of GKM. However direct or indirect the film maker's intentions, I still appreciate it.

Went to see the film again yesterday afternoon and I really enjoyed & like the movie.

Mothra would be the perfect character for a spin off series, she needs her own solo stories
As Mothra is my favorite kaiju, I love any content featuring her. I did wish they hadn't had her magically reborn, but maybe had a camouflaged chrysalis suspended between the pyramids that opened when Jia approached would have been more in line with the lore. Eons ago, Mothra laid an egg that hatched and the larva cocooned itself there only to never awaken. It could have been a way to make the connection to the Mothra that died in KotM as the eggs were laid in the same time frame kind of thing. I do appreciate that she also flew around in some combat, but I wish she used her God Rays more than one a movie. Like after Skar King and Shimo fell down the portal, she lights up the area in a way of getting all the Apes attention. She calls to them to calm them and wait for the final verdict, confident that Godzilla and Kong will win. If she does get a solo movie, I hope they bring Battra and maybe Dagarah or even a few new opponents for the Queen to face.

Easy, there were always 2 Eggs. In every iterations, Mothra always had 2 Larva and when one became mothra and died the other one was able to become reborn. Mothra is inevitable
I’m gonna have to watch the movie again but I don’t remember seeing an egg in the Hollow Earth….Jia did her thing and a bright light came out of nowhere and poof! Mothra was reborn. It’s been a while since I went to go see the movie but I’ll go watch again this weekend to confirm.
@toastx_ I never said there was an egg there during the movie. After KOTM, she most likely hatched and chilled until she was released. She maintains the memories and such cause of Mothras reincarnation abilities. This mothra was probably sealed storing energy the whole time after the titan war. The other was sent above Earth just in case the Titan war happened again but above earth again. Two places at once. The mothra above woke up early due to Ghidora.

I think they're implying that she hatched and transformed off screen, and made her way to the pyramids before the events of the movie. You can see she's invisible on top of the pyramid before she wakes up. So I believe she went down there and hibernated until she was needed. Wouldn't be too far off to assume she was responding to the changing environment when she went down there.

It was obvious with how they had Mothra enter she wasn’t originally gonna make it in and they were going for the backup plan right away. Honestly after this and how good and short this was Toho will reconsider giving Legendary a hard time using their monsters for Legendary’s future projects.
Before Shimo, Mothra was absolutely my favorite monster in the Monsterverse (I don’t necessarily count the G-man because to me he kinda IS the Monsterverse lol), and while I wished her role in GxK was a bit more crucial, it was definitely poignant and beautifully done, so I really appreciated that! The Queen of the Monsters made me love moths, after all, and I hope Adam can explore his vision of her more in the future!!

I liked Mothra's role in GxK, just wished that there was a more indepth reasoning for appearance in the Hollow Earth. She definitely contributed more to helping the heroes more in KOTM (the fighting part), and she didn't die for a change!
I know that's her whole thing, but still.
I really wish Mothra got more development in this movie but its worth it just to have Mothra in the universe again. If we're to assume that we'll have all the monsters of earth teaming up against an alien threat or something in an upcoming film then Mothra is an essential piece of that line up.
Mothra's screentime with what she did in GxK was satisfying for me. Especially with her speaking towards the end of the credits. Btw, like other's have mentioned, she definitely needed to be in the movie.
You have to admit that mothra is bad ass cuz she literally smashed into shimo to stop her from completely freezing Godzilla. Thats the third time she has saved Godzilla I think❤ 🦋
when i was a kid i saw one kaiju movie and that was a rabbit hole for me, it wasabout godzilla but i didn't like him as much,but then it came mothra and she became my fav, i haven't watch all kaiju movies but i tried to watch all mothra movies, so for kotm i was at the edge of crying, i honestly enjoy the monstervers but without mothra i wasn't that interested , but she is baaaack, honestly thay could make a film JUST about her and i would cry like a baby (with maaaaybe a battra return... ) , unlike other kaiju you could actually put mothra playing with children or live along side humans, i hope to see more about the queen.

She was formed from pure energy in GxK. The larva was pure radiation and was not corporeal until she was summoned. She focused her energy and formed a new body.

I was stoked to see Mothra return. She is one of my top three(the others being The G-Man himself and Rodan) and my best friend's absolute favorite so seeing her light up over it was awesome. I adore the monsterverse version of Rodan and would love to see him return. His scene in King of the Monsters when he fought the jets was fantastic.

I think Mothra likely laid 2 eggs, one from many thousands of years ago that was with the iwi and one during KOTM. This may also hint towards Mothra Leo appearing in the next movie because current Mothra has hatched and there may be a need for another Mothra being hatched early for the next film because of some large threat similar to what happened in the Leo Trilogy. Mothra was likely already cacooned in her iwi egg many years before G2014 but was waiting to be awoken for a massive threat that appeared in GxK (Shimo and Skar).

We didn't need Mothera but we wanted Mothera, shes one of my favorites and made the have a sense of a complete flim if they couldn't make anymore, i thought it was the perfect fit like the last piece in a puzzle. So I've seen this 5 times in the theater and I kinda wish that Phosphera would have been in it. I understand why Mothera was put in but I like new monsters as well, especially the Monsterverse monster designs.
It would make sense for her to be in the film instead of Mothra, for all when know she could have been an actual goddess unlike Mothra or even a close ally Godzilla lost long ago. Hopefully, we get a proper version of GXK with her in it. And in the future we could see her and Mothra be sisters in arms.
I think the Mothra in the movie is the mother of the two eggs on the surface. Like the original movie where she has two babies.

They need to do a Godzilla x Mothra: Secrets of Atlantis crossover movie and we could see Godzilla and Mothra teaming up to fight Battra and Dagahra just like we could also see Infant Island, Zhang Ziyi reprising her role as Dr. Ilene Chen and Dr. Ling Chen just like we would see Mothra transforming into Aqua Mothra.
@DangerVille, about that Mothra egg. Hear me out.... BATTRA! THINK ABOUT IT. If Mothra is the supreme negotiator, then Battra could be used to try and confuse or maybe even to a certain extent control Godzilla for nefarious purposes and Battra could have come from the Aliens that planted Ghidorah. Maybe make a video on this idea?

I would like a mothra solo film but I think that the monarch tv could also be used to explore the character (plus the show is called monarch like a monarch butterfly, this is theory that I personally have).
