Wanted to know more about it and googled it, This is waht she apparently said: "I'm so grateful that they work so hard on the manga adaptation," the writer said in reference to Ufotable's team of animators (via Frocharocha). "I hope you enjoyed episode 19 as much as I did." According to Gotoge, she was so overwhelmed by episode 19 that she cried after watching it. The author proceeded to binge watch the episode about 20 times and kept in contact with the team at Ufotable about the episode's direction. Given how pivotal the moment is in the manga, Gotoge was nervous about how it would translate on screen, but it is clear the production crew nailed it.
She got a really good adaptation for her work,soo many stories nowadays get a midiocre adaptation i can only imagine the pain authors experience when the anime ruines the story for some

This episode is undeniably perfect. It really is a love letter to the shonen genre. But don't pretend that lots of anime tropes in general are strange to non-Japanese anime fan audiences. It's not to be different, it's okay to dislike or feel disgusted by outdated media.
The fire breathing technique is called the Hinokami Kagura, which translates to "Dance of the Fire God". And then Nezuko's blood demon art is Exploding Blood, relating to fire as well. And going all the way back to the beginning, Tanjiro made a living for his family by making charcoal! It's fire references all the way back!

I'm so happy for the mangaka, how scary it must feel to have your hard worked art being adapted, it's out of your control and you don't want it to be ruined, then Ufotable does justice by making not only a banger of a season, but an episode with probably one the best fight scenes to be animated ever, everyone went crazy and the mangaka cried of joy, she must have felt so happy.

Btw, they did mention the demon's name. The "sister" spider demon calls him "Rui" earlier when Tanjirou comes across them when the Lower Moon Demon is punishing her.
Yes the colour of the blades do correlate with the type of breath. The Swordsmith was hoping to see a BRIGHT RED BLADE since it is very rare, and will be explained further into the story.
What saved Tanjiro was "memories of his past family”. As Tanjiro prepared for his death, his life to date floated through his mind like a kaleidoscope, and then the running lantern began to flow. Here, the scene in which Shinobu KOCHO talks to Zenitsu about the role of the lantern at the beginning of this episode came into play as foreshadowing. In Damon Slayer, when the characters are on the verge of despair, warm memories of their loved ones come back to them, and these memories encourage and inspire them.
This is a very emotional episode, Even the mangaka cried while watching it. And Carlie, you were right about the swords and their colours colerrating with the type of breath
That last scene with tanjiro and Nezuko-the music, the animation, the flashback.. it always gives me chills. So so good. Also I can’t wait till y’all watch Mugen train!!
the music, the animation, the SOUND DESIGN in general, like just. masterful. there's plenty of other amazing moments in this show to look forward to, but this still stands out to me as my favourite scene in animation period. Just incredible. Also the Japanese VA for Tanjiro's dad delivering that last line as it cut out of the flashback??? Gives me chills through my whole body, he delivers that line with such incredible power and intensity!! The times the music cuts in and out, quieter and louder, the sound effects of each slash and the dragon all being so poignant and impactful too--it's just all so FREAKING GOOOOD!!! And Nezuko coming in clutch at the end after her own flashback?? The symbolism of the bond between them working together to defeat Lower 5's fake bonds, it's so epic and so beautiful.
This is such a beautiful song and what an emotional fight scene , no mather how many time I keep rewatching it's still so good !! and I really enjoyed the girl reaction she was very emphatic and truly feel the emotion of the main charachter !
The thing I enjoy the most about watching Carlie and Ange is that they really seem to pay attention to the details, and their thoughts on what's happening is often correct. I often don't realize stuff until I watch an episode for a second time, or see it in a comment, but they just catch on so quick on what's happening. It feels as if they pay attention and enjoy the show as much as I did, which is what you'd want to see from a reaction channel.

I think this episode perfectly pictures the demon Slayer show. The whole fight, any fight, is just a lead up to that one final slice. And the mastery of the show is how they push the hype and lead up to that one moment to the absolute extreme. And this episode just does that brilliantly [Chef's kiss]
Another interesting thing in this episode, you can see that the black colour of Tanjiro nichirin sword was changed into another colour just a moment before Rui's neck got slashed. Also about the dragon who supposed to spitting fire, actually, in many place in Asia the dragon were traditionally depicted in mythology as some kinda water serpent who rules in the rivers, lakes or oceans. So the water element here is quite correct for describing the dragon in the water breathing technique final form.

Finally!!! I was waiting so long for your review for this episode and as always it was an amazing reaction! I just love how you guys have a theory segment before and after the episode! the color of the sword indeed correlates to one's breathing technique but urukodaki did not know about tanjirou's family secret. the swords smith just hoped it to be red because because of tanjirou's hair and eye color which indicates someone (or their family) who works with fire. the name of the new breathing will be dropped much later in the story that's why I can't get into details except for angel's theory of "maybe more than one" goes into the right direction. Also note how shinobu tells zenitsu at the beginning that people have their life flashing before their eyes to find something and anything from their past to avoid death which later tanjiro does by remembering his father teaching him the hinokami kagura and by that saving himself and nezuko. gotta love the foreshadowing!!

One theory of why your life flashes before your eyes is because your brain is sifting through EVERY information you obtained till that moment to get you out of that situation. Some people just become hyperaware of their senses and have an out of body experience. the color of the sword indeed correlates to one's breathing technique but urukodaki did not know about tanjirou's family secret. the swords smith just hoped it to be red because because of tanjirou's hair and eye color which indicates someone (or their family) who works with fire. the name of the new breathing will be dropped much later in the story that's why I can't get into details except for angel's theory of "maybe more than one" goes into the right direction.
Also note how shinobu tells zenitsu at the beginning that people have their life flashing before their eyes to find something and anything from their past to avoid death which later tanjiro does by remembering his father teaching him the hinokami kagura and by that saving himself and nezuko. gotta love the foreshadowing!!

One theory of why your life flashes before your eyes is because your brain is sifting through EVERY information you obtained till that moment to get you out of that situation.
