That feeling of "Tanjiro went through all of that and still wasn't able to defeat him. Tanjiro still isn't good enough".

So, it's not the Hinokami Kagura that took a toll on his father, he was just sick and he was able to do that dance DESPITE being sick, which was what was so amazing to little Tanjirou in the first place p.s. I know the next couple of episodes are really cool, but i am SO EXCITED for the reaction to the Mugen Train movie!!!

Giyu's 11th form is not a barrier. Demon Slayers are shown to be humans possessing superhuman physical capibilities and heightened senses like smell, hearing, touch, etc. but not with any supernatural/magical powers so they can't make barriers. Don't worry its a very common misinterpretation because of how the scene was animated. The animation makes it look like Giyu is just chilling and the threads just go poof but in the manga Giyu's haori is blurred a bit in the drawing implying that he is actually slashing each thread but he is doing it so fast that you can't see him move and he looks perfectly still like "dead calm" water. Also, this form is not a part of the traditional 10 forms of water breathing taught by Urokodaki which means that Giyu has mastered water breathing to such an extent that he is not only able to use the 10 forms at the highest level but also create new forms. *END OF IMPORTANT INFORMATION & START OF OPTIONAL NONSENSE* I think if Giyu ever ends up teaching water breathing when he is old and grey, he might include his 11th form (or at least try to cuz Dead Calm looks difficult af). Another food for thought which is just my fan brain geeking out is that I believe that most breathing techniques might have started with just 1 form back when they were created. (I might be wrong but hear me out) If you look at the first forms of the traditional breathing styles shown so far such as Water breathing's Surface Slash and Thunder Breathing's Thunderclap and Flash, they are both horizontal slashes which makes sense since in the world of Demon Slayer, the only way to defeat your enemies (demons) is to behead them and horizontal slashes accomplish that, becoming the most essential move and more importantly, killing blows. So all breathing styles would have started with just the first form as their way of beheading a demon and Demon Slayers who mastered their respective style must have started creating newer moves to deal with a wider range of situations (like Giyu) and taught the updated versions to future generations. (All of this is just my imagination and speculation) for eg. The 5th form: Blessed Rain after Drought must have been created by a water breathing master who wanted to give demons a painless and tranquil death. The 3rd and 4th forms (Flowing Dance and Striking Tide) must have been created to deal with situations when the swordsman was outnumbered by the demons. I'm gonna leave your favorite 2nd form (the Water Wheel of justice) to your own imagination. It should be noted that Tanjiro and Zenitsu have been shown to improvise and slightly alter the forms they have learnt such as Lateral Water Wheel (turning a vertical cut sideways to behead a demon in ep 9 and chop a tree in ep 18) and Zenitsu's sixfold. A normal Thunderclap and Flash is Zenitsu taking a straight line towards the target at lightning speed and beheading them before they can react as seen in episode 12. However in episode 17, since Zenitsu could not reach the Spider Demon (hanging in mid air) directly, he used the trees and the spider's own strings to perform the move 6 times going from point A to B to C to D to E and finally to the Demon. (you can count 6 yellow streaks when Zenitsu performs the sixfold) While these improvisations are hella impressive, they were only modifications of existing forms and not on the level of what Giyu did. Lastly, none of the above seems to apply to non traditional styles like Inosuke's Beast breathing (which he claims is "self taught" in ep 12) and Shinobu's Insect breathing (which uses poison). Both of these have a stabbing/piercing attack as the first form for some reason. In fact Shinobu doesn't even associate a number (1st/2nd/3rd.. form) to the Butterfly Dance that she uses in this episode which makes me think that its the first and only form in Insect breathing. (I've not read ahead so I don't know if thats true or not) (I'm sorry this ended up being super long. If you made it this far I just wanted to say that I am a Fanjiro. Buh bye)

When I first heard Rui's voice, I instantly recognized him. Because he's played by Kouki Uchiyama. And he actually voices one of my favorite villains in a relatively newer gen anime. Well they couldn't have Tanjiro finish Rui off, because in the demon slayer corp, to become a hashira you need to slay 50 demons, and a demon moon alone. So if they gave Tanjiro that epic kill, he would theoretically be a Hashira after his 2nd mission which would be lame
Yeah, while Tanjiro put up a great fight thinking about it from the author's perspective, letting Tanjiro already kill 12 kizuki at his level and with his experience really shortens the lifespan of the story. He's barely been training let alone fighting demons for a couple years at this point, fighting demons who've killed hundreds of people in life or death battles and with insane abilties.

So the whole thing with the sword and Nezuko's blood was that her blood fell on the sword when she first got strung up. Then when she made her blood explode she added her power to the swing.
Up to now in the anime there has not been a single demon that hasn't had a tragic backstory, and while there are some who are still monsters afterwards, they all are somewhat sympathetic and its why Muzan is a real monster as he's using people who are at their lowest moments.

I strongly recommend to watch the first episode of Mugen Train Arc then the movie. The pacing feels more more natural and smoother when you see the whole movie at once.

idk what source you're watching from, but since it's a paid source it's probably funimation or crunchyroll, but either way it's a shame you guys aren't getting the full experience because of incompetent subtitling work. fansubs are so much higher quality in the translation, and they aren't so rigid sounding either. Things like "temari" or "hinokami" get translated properly and the dialogue is more fluid too. Just slightly bitter about that on your behalf since I enjoy your reactions a lot. They're too big to fail so they don't care about the quality of their work (subs), sad.

For the next season, just watch the first episode of the series and then jump onto Mugen Train the movie. Movie came out first of course so I think you're supposed to watch it like that. Later they just divided the movie into episodes and released it as season 2 Mugen Train Arc. Apart from the first episode which is basically the intro to the movie.

Well they couldn't have Tanjiro finish Rui off, because in the demon slayer corp, to become a hashira you need to slay 50 demons, and a demon moon alone. So if they gave Tanjiro that epic kill, he would theoretically be a Hashira after his 2nd mission which would be lame

Yeah, while Tanjiro put up a great fight thinking about it from the author's perspective, letting Tanjiro already kill 12 kizuki at his level and with his experience really shortens the lifespan of the story. He's barely been training let alone fighting demons for a couple years at this point, fighting demons who've killed hundreds of people in life or death battles and with insane abilties.

So the whole thing with the sword and Nezuko's blood was that her blood fell on the sword when she first got strung up. Then when she made her blood explode she added her power to the swing.
Up to now in the anime there has not been a single demon that hasn't had a tragic backstory, and while there are some who are still monsters afterwards, they all are somewhat sympathetic and its why Muzan is a real monster as he's using people who are at their lowest moments.

idk what source you're watching from, but since it's a paid source it's probably funimation or crunchyroll, but either way it's a shame you guys aren't getting the full experience because of incompetent subtitling work. fansubs are so much higher quality in the translation, and they aren't so rigid sounding either. Things like "temari" or "hinokami" get translated properly and the dialogue is more fluid too. Just slightly bitter about that on your behalf since I enjoy your reactions a lot. They're too big to fail so they don't care about the quality of their work (subs), sad.
