well yes but also he was about to use his palisade bite (beast breathing 6th form) when he was in the underground cave vs worm belt but got interrupted because he chose to prioritize saving people instead of attacking the belt, which is normally something he wouldnt have done (such as in early mugen train, and it's still in itself a callback to rengoku prioritizing people over demon), and that was before the wives woke up to help. So when he's saying "I'm getting it done THIS TIME", it's both a callback to him failing to kill akaza with rengoku but also to that moment of being interrupted, double wammy. we love those.

I just want to point out the character growth Inosuke has had since we first met him. He was brash, headstrong, and a lone wolf who only cared about his own strength and glory. He got humbled on Spider Mountain, realizing he wasn't nearly as great as he thought he was. He came to understand companions and learning from each other during rehab. He learned to take advice and think about working together on the train. And now we see him in the team captain mentality, saying "We can take her down together". It's beautiful.
🐗 Inosuke is my BOY!! 🐗 He was charging Daki with no defense! His defense was Tanjiro and Zenitsu! That's why he had to put all his trust and his strength into that attack!
I love how quickly fortunes change at the end of the episode and how good plans turn to poor ones in the blink of an eye. Inosuke's plan of running around with Daki's head until Gyutaro was similarly decapitated is a good one, the problem is that it assumes that Gyutaro is still locked in combat with Tengen... and he wasn't. What was a good plan suddenly made him a target, and further his plan had separated him from everyone else meaning there was nothing stopping Gyutaro from quickly dispatching him and restoring his sister. I think the most dangerous thing about demons in this universe is their regeneration, if the Demon Slayers miss their opportunities they have to start all over again. That is, battles of attrition will always favor the demons and the show does a great job of continually reminding you of this.
The Nin Nin perfectly captures the feelings of the last 5 minutes in the episode, Gyutaro saw Daki's brutal decapitation & the boys celebrations and he made sure they were short lived. As a viewer you're thinking, who's having a NIGHTMARE!!
The amount of bargaining with the show by Carlie and Ange with the whole future flash bit so that they can't accept what happened to person and person is just... Chef's kiss.
Not going to lie - the throwing of the tissue box got me. And the realisation of Tengen's arm getting cut off... hits me every time. P.S. I also think Hina is the favourite wife. They astablish that Tengen can't handle Gyutaro on his own at the very beginning of the fight actually, when Tanjiro has to deflect a deadly attack to save him. But the fight is paced so fast and so dense that it slips your mind, making the reveal that much more effective.

All that matters in the end is that Tengen folding this quickly in a 1 v 1 after taking even more poison damage during the fight makes perfect sense. + I think you're wrong. Even without the poison, Gyutaro speed blitzed Tengen twice in a row immediately after appearing, before landing a poisonous hit.

This episode showed that our boys truly evolved to the next level while still in fighting phase. They all got their new moves! Especially Inosuke’s 8th Form (Explosive Rush) and Zenitsu’s Eightfold Thunderclap & Slashes!!!❤
Every episode is better than the last. One of the parts that really gets me in the feels is inosuke's trust. He know his friends will defend him to their last breathe in order to insure he can accomplish what needs to be done. Next episode though is in my top 3 of the entire series both on an emotional level and absolutely visual stunning

So about the title, "Defeating an Upper rank demon". Before the episode, most would have assumed that just means literally what it says. But with retrospect, what the title is actually telling us is what it takes to beat an upper rank demon. It's never simple or, quite obviously by now, not a sliver bit easy. The episode's title and cliffhanger is just getting more cruel. It's like finally beating the final hidden boss only for it to reveal that it has 2 more extra phases.

I've heard that they did us dirty with the title of this episode. I've heard that the real title was something among the lines of "Did/Can we defeat an Upper Rank demon?". Not sure how true that is and it may just be a lie, but it would make sense. Or maybe just add an "?" at the end would make it better. In any case, the next episode is one of my absolute favorite episodes of this show (so far). The animation is out of this world! Makes me wonder how godly the next season(s) will be. (I'm a manga-reader, so I've finished this show, but I can't wait to see the rest in anime-form.)

Before the episode, most would have assumed that just means literally what it says. But with retrospect, what the title is actually telling us is what it takes to beat an upper rank demon. It's never simple or, quite obviously by now, not a sliver bit easy.
The episode's title and cliffhanger is just getting more cruel. It's like finally beating the final hidden boss only for it to reveal that it has 2 more extra phases.

I've heard that they did us dirty with the title of this episode. I've heard that the real title was something among the lines of "Did/Can we defeat an Upper Rank demon?". Not sure how true that is and it may just be a lie, but it would make sense. Or maybe just add an "?" at the end would make it better. In any case, the next episode is one of my absolute favorite episodes of this show (so far). The animation is out of this world! Makes me wonder how godly the next season(s) will be. (I'm a manga-reader, so I've finished this show, but I can't wait to see the rest in anime-form.)
