Rugeley Power Station Boiler House Demolition

20th Aug. 2020, the Boiler House came down, managed to get this video from the next close, with a pretty decent view given the sun was back-lighting it!
Watch closely at HD and you can see lots of little flashes taking place long before the house came down as various charges go off around the building.

Thanks, the video turned out better than I expected, couldn't see much on the camcorder screen with the backlighting, so happy to find it picked up all the small charges going off, that was a bit of a bonus. :-)

Sorry to be a nerdy pedant but the structure that seemed to float around after everything else was hitting the ground was actually the exhaust stack for the gas turbines.

@@Stack-bd9wq Not at all, I forgot they were round the back :o) interesting side story; had a lecturer who’s life had been power generation. He was saying how they had to put control gear on, so that both jet engines came up to power together. Initially they couldn’t start the prototype because one would get ahead and put the other one out.

Dragon Willow Agreed! Can still see it from the top of the A5 south of Lichfield - for now. When it was still running the steam from the towers could be even seen from a lot further, especially on a cold day!
