Rugeley Power Station Demolition Compilation Video

This video is all the clips which I have filmed of the Demolition of Rugeley Power Station starting from the 2nd controlled demolition. Sadly I won't be able to attend the remaining of the Ducting being demolished (9th controlled demolition) so instead I decided to put a Compilation Video on the power Station being demolished between 2019 and 2021

I was driving down the A51 one night and looked over to see the power station had disappeared! I had no idea they were demolishing it!

The demise of our great industrial heritage, Rugeley was taken out of service way too early.

It sadly was, I remember that it was due to be taken out of service by 2025 but they closed it early due to another power station needing a component from Rugeley Power Station or Rugeley Power Station needed a component from another Power Station. Not sure how true that was.

Thank You Chelmswood Junction, honestly I watched the same Power Station being pulled down twice! back in the mid 90s, the A Power Station was pulled down which left the B Power Station until 2019 when they started tearing it down and the footage is the B Power Station.
But sadly I didn't had a camcorder back then to watch the A Power Station being pulled down.

First one started on the 14th February 2019 and the last one 24th June 2021. But happy to see most of it coming down. Thanks Jacob's Rail Adventures.

I was on an outage there when 'A' station boiler house was levelled....
And everyone lost their TV signal 🙄

It’s always good to see progress but I get a bit nostalgic about the people who spent their working lives at huge places like these.
I was always impressed by power stations when I was a kid. The sheer size of the plats was amazing

I went to an open day there in 1988.

I remember going to a open day but think it was around the early 90s, cannot remember the date but I know there was a blue industral steam locomotive there.
