    I recommend putting whole flaxseed in a coffee grinder (be sure to clean the coffee out first) then adding it to pancake and waffle mixes or other baking needs and it will be hearty egg replacement.

    Not everyone converts ALA to EPA to DHA equally. Some people don't make the full conversion at all. Moreover, you have to watch Omega 6 to 3' ratios since high ratios of 6 to 3 will inhibit conversion of ALA to EPA to DHA.

      Meaning what exactly. For example. If a person had a bag of walnuts, ground flax, ground chia, and shelled hemp seeds in front of them. What exactly would you need to consume and how much daily for the right ratio of Omega 3 & 6 for an adult?
      There's so much bloody misinformation about Omega 3 &6 it's retarded, and I can't find a good answer anywhere.

    • @kehlanakareem9319
      @kehlanakareem9319 3 года назад +2

      @@Johny40Se7en the recommended ratio is 4:1 ~4 being omega 6 and ~1 being omega 3, we should try to consume foods high in DHA/EPA omega 3 up to three times weekly, this means eating fish like Salmon which is rich in fatty acids 2-3 times weekly. Everyday we must consume AHA omega 3 rich foods like walnuts, chia seeds, flax seeds, hemp seeds, spinach, etc. Other notable sources of omega 3 include, free range eggs, certain sea grasses, and crustaceans. Be safe and don’t consume fish daily as mercury could be a major problem.

      Under active thyroid is to do with Iodine, not Omegas. I had under active thyroid and felt so tired and fatigued all the time, until I did some learning about Iodine. Now I take a plant based supplement for it and don't have that fatigue anymore. Either that or have some vegan sushi everyday. Basically just Nori seaweed wrap with rice, avocado, shredded carrot and either a bit of light soy sauce or a tiny bit of sea salt. It's a right fuss everyday though, so a supplement is better.

      Hey there! We have to disagree, being that quality plant omega-3 products such as algal oil represent one of the best omega-3 sources for numerous reasons. Plant-based omega-3s from marine algae have the same benefits as fish oil but essentially you're getting the DHA & EPA straight from the source of where fish consume them. It's generally more eco-friendly and suitable for plant-based diets as well. You're also less likely to get fish burps or any sort of fishy aftertaste.

    9 times is the optimistic case. Average is (again with some optimism) %5 of ALA to EPA/DHA conversion. This means not 9 times but 20 times. Some even %1! A vegan/vegetarian with such disability will sooner or later start to have problems about recovery, hair, skin quality, joint problems etc. Better try to go pescetarian guys.

      Really? There are many healthy long term vegans who trust their experience over the scare stories. The main thing needed is some understanding of sources of vegan omega 3 and knowing ways of reducing omega 6 intake. I have been vegan for 36 years and don't have any of the problems you listed. One to two table spoons of freshly milled flaxseed and a few walnuts later for omega 3, and reducing fried and processed foods to keep the omega 6 intake in check. These steps are worth trying before jumping to conclusions.

    • @sinan6713

      @@charlesshaw7091 charles, you can do fine with your omega-3 intake because your body is able to convert ala to bio-available omega 3 but some people cant convert ala to epa/dha as an average person so they're at risk. that is what i've mentioned there. by the way, there are vegan epa/dha sources too, like spirulina.
