As someone who has suffered from a headache for the last ten years, and frequently in childhood, I'm thrilled to hear what you have to say on this subject.
The frequent headaches and unending fatigue are a constant struggle, and I'm at my wit's end. It's exasperating to deal with these headaches so often, and the fatigue feels like an unshakable burden. I've reached a point where I can't simply endure this any longer. I'm committed to finding a solution
Ive had cluster migraines for 13 yrs. Started taking new chapter vegan omega 3s that have less than what is being recommended but have been migraine free since i started taking them. What a blessing.
Wow. How long did it take to work?
Haven't had one since I started taking it. It's been a little more than 2 months but I have never gone more than a week with out a migraine in 13 yrs.
@@danaw5246 That's great that it works for you!
Great work! Thank you.
Solid hydration always kept the headaches at bay for me. I feel for people who hydrate properly and still struggle with headaches.
Great overview.
I've had migraine with aura for over 20 years. Nothing has worked to prevent them and only Ibuprofen helped stop them if taken early enough. This is something I really wish I'd had back when this affliction kept me home from work and daily activities. Headaches rob of us of our lives.
I suffered with them for 5 years. Only just clearing up. Pretty sure it’s hitting the gym consistently AND weirdly enough, not drinking the tap water at work which is supposedly a lead pipe!
Maybe its just going to work itself.@@StanzAmor
I have them for over a week, I'm unaliving myself because of them because my doctors don't believe me when I'm clearly in deep pain in front of them
@@JoshuaLovesDoggos1 The doctors have done that to me as well. That's why I have tried to take care of them myself.
So, are your migraines gone now?
I have vegan EPA and DHA oil, made from algae. Big pro is that it doesn’t have to be cleaned from mercury, because it is from a nursery.
Thanks for mg’s. I need to pop six percs not one per day now
I have been eating salmon every single day for about a month and my neuralgia is going away… I was literally telling someone we MUST tell more ppl about the omegas!!
Are there benefits from taking fish oil if someone has histamine intolerance (sometimes combined with inflammation)? Is omega 3 absorbed this way at all?
Does it matter on your weight/size? My hubby 90kg, 6ft, myself 43kg, 5ft, would I still take 1.5g EPA or half the dose?
But isn't Omega3 heat sensitive? I mean if we cook salmon then won't the it get evaporated?
Whats the dosage for epa to dha?
After listening to this talk, I’ve investigated ways to consume over 1000 mg of EPA daily. However, as a vegetarian, I would need to take over 10 supplements (Nordic naturals or other brands I’ve seen), daily and consuming flax and or Chia seeds will not even come close, despite levels of ALA due to bodily conversion any ideas?
Further, are there any recommendations for choosing supplement brands? I know Thorne is recommended on this podcast, but their CoQ10 has other substances as well and I was looking for a sole CoQ10 for the migraine prevention. Research this a bit on my own, but curious as to what others have found.
Thanks in advance, long time, subscriber, and faculty researcher.
You should listen to his carnivore diet
@@NickofTimeDogWalks not helpful or appropriate for someone following the diet for religious, moral, ethical, or environmental reasons.
No mention of the ratio of Mono vs Polly Fatty acids - so far anyway
Wow. My krill capsules only have 60mg of epa per capsule. Going to have to find a new brand.
Same my Cod Liver oil capsules are about 70. Just eating a can of Sardines is like 450mg of EPA and 740mg of DHA. I might just try to start eating a can or two a week.
Not to be a ney-sayer, I'm 64 year old male who has suffered debilitating migraines for 3 decades I always stayed away from fish oils as it seemed to make my situation worse. The invention of Aimovig has been and continues to be a life changing medication for me.
Migraines and headaches are 2 different things mate. As someone with migraines, you should know this...
I upped my dose of fish liver omega capsules to match his recommendations, taken for over 6 months now. No reductions in migraines. Going for a botox consultation 😢
Don’t do that with liver oil you will poison yourself with vitamin A this is serious
Just mere minutes ago I saw another clip on how a major study on fish oils tested people over many years vs placebo and it turns out the difference between those taking fish oil supplements and those just eating a healthy meal had no difference. That basically spending money on fish oils was a waste.
Read the study. The details matter. What is not useful for some, can be very useful for others (e.g. variations in age, medical history, etc.). PubMed is your friend. (My daughter is a neuroscientist. I can't understand the details of studies the way she does, but I can follow the basic info. Studies vary in quality, numbers & time ... read them carefully before making a conclusion.)
Try 3-5 grams for a week or two. Then come back and say its a waste.

I take Krill oil instead of fish oil. 🦐
I take it as well (as of a few months ago, anyway). Studies seem to show better absorption, etc. Also less likely to contain heavy metals. Nice use of the little shrimp emoji...I laughed when I noticed it.

I came across a reddit discussion about krill oil and thought of you; I tried to include a link but that likely resulted in the comment being deleted. Anyway, to summarize: krill oil typically does not include a lot of DHA / EPA, so even though it is absorbed better, we need to take more. Also, it can be rancid just like regular fish oil. I'm going to continue to take it, probably just more often.
@@gregorypeterschmidt620 oh thank you for sharing with me. I take double the dose daily too.
