Anderson with white pieces : trys to play Sicilian by a3 Also Anderson with black pieces : where he can play Sicilian but decides to play scandanavian defence
He was undisputed best player of the world before Morphy went to Europe as well as after his premature retirement until Steinitz era came. Many historians consider him first world champion. That speaks a lot.
@@veezhang6988most historians would classify Morphy as the first world champion considering he travelled across the ocean to beat the chess players considered the best
A good point Agadmator made there was about Anderssen's contribution to chess theory. He was a less talented player than Morphy, but unlike Morphy, he remained involved with chess even after retirement and wrote countless books on the subject.
Weep not, O Europe Rejoice not, America! For genius like his, Both lands are too small. The World is his Fatherland! -- ending of poem by T J Werndly of Holland praising Morphy in January 1859 Sissa after his match with Anderssen.
Hi Antonio, love your videos, you've become part of my daily routine. 3:26 When we say that a position is NEW, it means that the position was never reached before, regardless of whether it was subsequently reached again. There are 4 possibilities in the Boolean truth table: a) The position was never reached before, and was never reached again. The position is NEW. b) The position was never reached before, and was reached again. The position is NEW. c) The position was reached before, and was never reached again. The position is NOT NEW. d) The position was reached before, and was reached again. The position is NOT NEW.
Anderssen deciding against English opening and plays 1.a3 followed by c4 to transpose into some kind of a reversed Sicilian, but chooses not to play actual Sicilian when facing Morphy as white :D
Loving this. So full of admiration for the players of the past. In some sports like football and cricket there is a tendency by some people to belittle the performers of years gone by, writing them off as naive amateurs. Yet in chess, where you can make direct comparisons with the present day, literally all that is missing from the top chess games of 1858 is that they had far less knowledge of theory, strategy and tactics to draw from, so the players had to work things out for themselves to a far greater extent. What an almost superhuman job they did! To put it into perspective, 1858 was the year football (barely recognisable as the same game as today) had its first set of standard rules drawn up, and cricket hadn't even legalised overarm bowling!
2 years after you’ve showcased this game it did brighten my Sunday Love watching these games from great grandmasters earlier on in chess Morphy totally destroyed Anderson in this one Andersson is going to have to do much better or try in the future games between the two Much Thanks Agadmator
Morphy was a creative chess engine about the same that Charles Babbage was developing his Difference and Analytical Engines. Interesting how both used analysis to solve intractable problems. One on the chess board. The other in the laboratory.
It seems that the more Chess Masters look into Morphy’s eyes - or soul - the worse they play. Is Morphy some kind of hypnotising snake ? Andersen was almost walking his pieces back from any engagement or attack. Very strange. Perhaps Morphy is a Time Lord, one of Dr Who’s regenerations they haven’t film yet ?!!
Hi,tou could say "and it was in this position that we have a unique game" so it cover both past and future. I'm a huge fan, i hope you would read my comment
"You Hear That Mr. Anderson? That Is The Sound Of Inevitability!" Said morphy while sticking his hand in Mr Anderson's chest and slowly turning him to an agent.
e5! That's a new one on me, lol, I thought I'd seen every line in the Scandi. Anderssen kinda' reminds me of my irl friend, who is also named Anderson, he plays random looking crap that turns out to be fine when I analyze our games later.
This actually is a very bad game by Anderssen and Morphy didn't have to do anything special to win it.Shame, for Adolf Anderssen at his best is a delight to watch.
Probably I will most miss Our Good Friends commentary after this saga. Maybe it would be a nice gimick in some other game of this area. Would love to see a collection of his best quotes. And with best I mean as incorrect and arrogant as possible. He is the true villain of this saga waiting to strike knights, sorry knifes in his back. Staunton is just a coward.

Don't want this Morphy saga to come to an end. Listening to Agad tell Morphy stories is like bringing him back to life.
Wonderful 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
V well said. We can come back anytime and relive the great moments of Morphy’s chess life whenever we want. The power of the web and YT.
its just insane how many times in a row this Paul Charles guy has been awarded the "Morphy Head". What a legend of a player.
I hope Antonio continues to make more chess history sagas after

Why didn’t he just play the English?
😂😂😂
@@TheGrandChieftain good question lol
@@TheGrandChieftain The line he is looking for has black opening e5. If he plays the English directly, a different setup might emerge.
Anderson, a brilliant chess player full of wisdom whose only problem was that he was born in the times of Morphy.
But Anderson is more worthy to be studied than Morphy, because the latter could not even be comprehended, he is just pure talent

It was in this position.. that Agad made my Sunday even better!
Yesssirrrr
What jake said!!!
It was in this position agad saved my crappy Sunday
sounds romantic
Sus
Imagine being so influential in chess that many positions are named after you and then get absolutely crushed by some dude.
it is obvious that Morphy was using a chess engine after his third move, he had it hidden in his lip balm.
Real and true. 😐
No, he hid it in his marvelous hair.
That's where I hide my chess engines
Weep not, O Europe
Rejoice not, America!

imagine Paul morphey growing up with chess engines .
Morphy was the first engine.
@@goose5462 but better, in terms of beauty.

In that case the beauty of morphy games will be ruined, my opinion
Agadmator goes Tarantino in his nonchronological presentation of the saga.
Compared to this game, the draw in the next game chronologically (the previous Agadmatorically) should be considered a big "victory" for Anderssen.
I like Anderson. He seems like a chill guy.
"We are still very early on in the morphy saga." That really improved my sunday.

I’d say the material’s equal
Great chess video, I always enjoyed the Morphy Series.

I love the pauses you give us to find the winning move. Even though I hardly ever get the move. I still enjoy the challenge though.

Anderssen : it’s free Real Estate
I love how Löwenthal giving bad suggestions is becoming a running gag. :D
Great series!
Just about to have my lunch and you uploaded .. how lucky
The Morphy saga is lasting longer than Morphy's career.
Agad is the only one whose every apology is always accepted with warm heart❤️

Morphy being Morphy when he was so down medically on this tour..!!!
I'm gonna call it "the summer Agadmator made the Morphy Saga"
At the end Morphy played RF4; Agad mentioned that RF3 would be fine too but after playing RF3 the bishop on C8 covers H3, preventing RH3.
Canadians - we are the most polite people on the face of the Earth
Agadmator from Croatia - Hold my sorry about that
It's very sad, game after game, seeing Anderssen's attacking spirit became so quiet, so tamed by Morphy. Really impressive stuff.
Agadmator wearing F.R.I.E.N.D.S T shirts ..just remembered the scene where Pheobe and Joey play Chess ...lolz
