Great tip on using reverse on the drill!! Especially when you only need to take just a little bit off. I to have grabbed my drill, shoved it in the hole, rushing, and had the terminal ripped from my hands!! Not only do you NOT trim what you want.. but like you said, sometimes it'll rip that little thing right off of the lines!! And now your starting over.... take your time and do things right! 5 or 10 seconds of thinking and slowing down will save you hours of headache.
Dude, i work at Advance Auto, trust me, don't get the silver battery, if you are into car audio, get the Platinum AGM. I have heard back from my car audio customers that it has improved their sound. It also doesn't vent, so the terminals wont corrode. I put AGMs in all my builds.
I have done hundreds of stereo installs and have always ran my power wires underneath and pinned it up and customers were like what you doing, I'd just say you'll thank me later and made sure it was protected from bumps and such, there are various grommets and trunk drains that can be used so that's more than under dash and you don't have to pull but maybe one or two interior panels off and boom it's wired and ready, some people just can't understand why we do stereo installs like this exo and like you bro been In the game for a long time excellent videos buddy
Nice job exo!! Gotta make the misses happy!! Very respectable number. A 140 on a single sub daily driver box. Congrats. That's perfect for everyday listening!! Keep up the great work!!
Heck yeah dude that's awesome !!!I love to see when you get excited bro !!!When you saw that 140 DB that was priceless!!!I felt Your happiness through my phone!!! Congrats to Elise she's bumping now!!!!
Love your work and videos. I see it both ways with running power externally. My only issue with this particular install is you have zip tied the power wire to the fuel lines. Not a good thing if the insulation wears thru.
You didn't show how to install the 2nd battery. I wanted to see if the original battery needed different terminals, or if there is something else needed to add the 2nd battery other than cables.
I was going to say the same thing but I noticed that he got separate smaller (lengthwise) of the same ground and power wire he installed and ran the power wire (he installed under the car) into a fuse near the battery then connected it to the battery then another separate smaller power wire connected to the amp. Then for the ground wire, he took a smaller (lengthwise) wire then ran it to the ground on the battery, then another one ran from the battery to the amp. I hope that helps!! I paused the video at 11:27 and followed the wires remembering the colors of the orignal two he installed.
Just finished a small system in my 97 mercury tracer. Got Hertz speakers in back Audison in front hooked up to a 650 watt rms pioneer amp and 2 10 inch Memphis brx 1044s in a ported box with 1000watt rms amp. What i like about these subs is the magnet is about 9-10 inchs so even though its a 10 inch sub it hits harder then a lot of 12s out there.
My setup is pretty Similar, got a grey corolla sport with one 12” kaption spl max 1200 watt rms kaption amp. You should really change the factory head unit and speakers, makes a big difference
One helpful thing to know bass is a long wave form so if you the rider or driver in a car what to hear it well, put you bass speaker farther away from you when possible. Like in this case you don't need the rear seats down and playing it that loud. Point you bass speaker toward the back of the car and do as much as possible to stop the truck from rattling, especially the lid and the rear lights. Glad you were wise about the power wires. Yes, a fuse at the battery up front is great, but you partly ruined that safe plan by not fusing the battery in the trunk. Also a softer speaker, in a ban pass box and maybe 200 watts RMS amp would have worked out very well.
You can also hook the power wire to the second battery straight to the alternator with a circuit breaker in between and run a second large ground from the engine battery to the body then ground your trunk battery straight to the body and the two batteries won't fight for voltage or confuse the alternater.
So you ran a powerline from the 1st batt to the 2and one, grounded the 2nd one off on the chassis, then ran a 2nd positive and negative from the trunk battery to the amp. So good to know when I install my new battery
Nice job hey bro I've never watched your videos I think I've sat all month and watched every video you made from the beginning I seen you come up through like the last 5 years lol.. you can see the changes in your place and in your stereo systems with you and your girl pretty cool man wish you luck on you're endeavor you make me laugh too. Keep doing your thing boy God bless
Holy shit thanks for the reverse drill trick on ring terminals! I just ripped a chunk out of my hand a couple weeks ago when the bit grabbed an took me for a ride lol. Thanks buddy!
Surely it'd sound better firing toward the rear, right? I've tried several forward fire setups without being sealed off and it's always better to the rear.
I totally agree with running all zero gauge under the vehicle with water tight grommet where you go into the vehicle. I use old water hose as conduit for extra protection for wire/cable. Do it right and there's no problem. I think they recommend it inside for lazy/idiots that would run cable through pinch points or hot surfaces:)
woo hoo 140 on a single nice work EXO ! glad to see someone else's missrs is in the daily 140+ bracket too hehe cheers for the upload, anticipating it for days, take care and hope she enjoy's it !
Pepsi, sprite, Canada Dry ginger ale would’ve helped with the corrosion on the battery!! You can literally see the acidity from the sodas eat away at the corrosion.
really enjoy watching the installation vidz I can relate more to you then others because like you said you keep it simple and you don't have a massive crew or a fancy shop! Yo da man
I personally think the subwoofer should be pointed towards the back of the car, instead of pointed towards the windshield.. I mean I've done it like that for years.. the bass tends to be deeper and harder that way but I guess to each its own. Awesome!!!!
You're VERY right! But this setup is meant for daily travelling and grocery getting. With the sub facing the rear, the cone would be constantly hit and possibly damaged from all the stuff we transport in the trunk!!!
EXOcontralto hey buddy yeah you're absolutely right.. in that case then yes I would have kept it the way you did.. I was wondering if you guys could ever get a chance to check out the Power Acoustik subwoofers and the autotek amps.. that's the equipment I had in my car and they seem to do really well but yeah just a thought
Colby from my own experience the sub pointed backwards always seem louder.. and besides I always thought you hear less woofer noise and more deeper Bass
I can tell you one thing those Toyota STOCK door speakers sound amazing to be stock! My mom has a 2011 Toyota Camry and the bass only from the doors is just enough to be shaking some mirrors and the clarity is awesome! Toyota should start up a speaker company too! Who else agrees?
stay away from led acid batteries.. buy agm only, they last longer if properly taken care of.. use your warranty before it expires, drain your battery and return it within warranty for a new one
Nice build EXO, Now its time to "Rip IT" oh dang wrong channel lol. Ps stop by mine for some car audio goods. Mad props to the editing on your vids too!! Peace bro

EXOcontralto eeeeeeexxxxxxooooo!!!!!!
EXOcontralto bro...my phone says its Wednesday 😂
WOOPS, me too! HAHHA
Dude, i work at Advance Auto, trust me, don't get the silver battery, if you are into car audio, get the Platinum AGM. I have heard back from my car audio customers that it has improved their sound. It also doesn't vent, so the terminals wont corrode. I put AGMs in all my builds.

Im yet to see anybody better wit car audio than this guy im impressed everytime
Man this guy is one of the nicest I have seen on RUclips
right man, he just makes yah smile haha
Yes he like nice guy
I have done hundreds of stereo installs and have always ran my power wires underneath and pinned it up and customers were like what you doing, I'd just say you'll thank me later and made sure it was protected from bumps and such, there are various grommets and trunk drains that can be used so that's more than under dash and you don't have to pull but maybe one or two interior panels off and boom it's wired and ready, some people just can't understand why we do stereo installs like this exo and like you bro been In the game for a long time excellent videos buddy
5:26 you know he's been on youtube a hot minute when he still calls it rating from the 1-5 star days.
She may be a keeper man ... When she suggested "You should get a reading on it." She speaks the language! LOL
He looks so proud which he should be
Just got done with my NVX install Sunday. It was because of you and your Dad that I got it. I love it.
So pumped for you dude!
craig pennington What did u get man I'm looking into trying some Nvx subs?
Lmfao, exo looked at her an said "are you shitting me" priceless had me rolling
LOL, damn girl be sleepin at the wheel!!!
lol exos face expression when he said" are you shitting me?!"
Nice job exo!! Gotta make the misses happy!! Very respectable number. A 140 on a single sub daily driver box. Congrats. That's perfect for everyday listening!! Keep up the great work!!
Thanks man, I think so too!
Heck yeah dude that's awesome !!!I love to see when you get excited bro !!!When you saw that 140 DB that was priceless!!!I felt Your happiness through my phone!!! Congrats to Elise she's bumping now!!!!
Hey man!! I appreciate that, and glad to see you on the channels :)
Hey no problem anytime bass head brother!!!!! I'm a lifetime suscriber to both channels, keep bringing us your awesome videos!!
Love your work and videos. I see it both ways with running power externally. My only issue with this particular install is you have zip tied the power wire to the fuel lines. Not a good thing if the insulation wears thru.

Excellent point about the flammable interior parts
Thanks bro :D
My thoughts too, but what where these lines the wire was attached to ? Hope this wasn't the fuel lines ??

love how you do things the right way .
2:05 that laugh tho😂
does she really like it or just saying that for the video?
I think you like the setup way more than she does...
LOLz, maybe but that's not a surprise :P
I've learned that using soapy water in a spray bottle helps that zero gauge slide wherever it needs to go lol.
That's not all soapy water is good for
I Love your enthusiasm and drive in car audio. 👍👍👀
Much love sir, I appreciate you watching.
Not really into car audio but damn these videos are entertaining and full of good info/content. Subscribed!
THANKS MAN!!!!
My setup is pretty Similar, got a grey corolla sport with one 12” kaption spl max 1200 watt rms kaption amp. You should really change the factory head unit and speakers, makes a big difference
"Your battery posts are too tight!" Says the one person who always has to bitch on a youtube video XD
One helpful thing to know bass is a long wave form so if you the rider or driver in a car what to hear it well, put you bass speaker farther away from you when possible. "are you shitting me?" LMFAO that part killed me
:D
Woops!
A little bit of bass makes EVERYTHING better
You can also mix baking soda and water, then pour it on a battery cable and it will desolve the corrosion.
Are you gonna play with different box positioning or was that the loudest positioning you got for it? Or is this purely aesthetic?
Yessir! This position was just for getting a better view of the subwoofer while driving.
Exo, you da man!!!!!!!! Thanks for posting all the great videos!! I've learned a lot just from watching
You got it man! Thanks for commenting
You can also hook the power wire to the second battery straight to the alternator with a circuit breaker in between and run a second large ground from the engine battery to the body then ground your trunk battery straight to the body and the two batteries won't fight for voltage or confuse the alternater.
Dan Hodgkiss I think I need to do that I’m having power issues with my battery’s
glad to see you back at EXO. good video
I'm not going anywhere, slightly crazy but nowhere fast :p
Are you kidding? All that from a 10" sub? No way! Great job bro
My bad. Didn't watch till the end. Still.. nice for a 12.
@@jasonchenoweth5448 the big surround makes it look like a 10.
I don't know what you're spending on fuse blocks or multi-connections but Steve Meade has some awesome ones. I'd one to get a hold of some of them.
Nan u got me excited as hell by getting excited. Hell yeah
So you ran a powerline from the 1st batt to the 2and one, grounded the 2nd one off on the chassis, then ran a 2nd positive and negative from the trunk battery to the amp. So good to know when I install my new battery

Really nice to see how happy you were to hear your work!!!
I would,'ve never thought of running the power wire under the car and to be honest I think that's a better and safer way than running it in the car.
Less chance of car fires that way
Like the power wire run! cool don't have to tear up an interior, and if any problems, there it is!
played this on some sony random headphones. the bass was so intense that my ears are hurting fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuucg
Holy shit thanks for the reverse drill trick on ring terminals! I just ripped a chunk out of my hand a couple weeks ago when the bit grabbed an took me for a ride lol. Thanks buddy!
*NICE INSTALL! hope your girlfriend likes the effort you put in this? great vid brother!*
She does, a very supportive person
👍cool👍
I’d give up some SPL to get into the high 20s coming from home theater.
What would it take? PEQ? Bigger box? Longer port? Different driver?
😊
all that work and all she can think about is sleep. I wish my girl got as excited about bass as me lol
Poor girl be slippin!
I was wandering when you where going to fix it. Awesome job!!!!!! I cheered with you when I saw 140
Surely it'd sound better firing toward the rear, right? I've tried several forward fire setups without being sealed off and it's always better to the rear.
Yeah its louder firing back in my sedan
Tim Germany its its sealed up facing forward its louder but not the way he has it
Had it faced like this for better viewing of the sub on video.
The horror on your face when the WD-40 came out was priceless
She is super cute. Great install too!
She sure is, I love that girl :)
I totally agree with running all zero gauge under the vehicle with water tight grommet where you go into the vehicle. I use old water hose as conduit for extra protection for wire/cable. this dude is the truth
That was Awesome! Very nice indeed for one sub and stock alt.
I am a sub now, love your personality!!!

Thanks for the comment man, I was so pumped too. And for sure, i think she's loving the addition heheh
Nice video 🙌🏼 next time use a jack stand. Safety first my guy!!
Ahh, the beautifully colorful colors of corrosion!
Pepsi, sprite, Canada Dry ginger ale would’ve helped with the corrosion on the battery!! You can literally see the acidity from the sodas eat away at the corrosion.
YOU TOTALLY DIDN'T MENTION THE #1 ACID EATER THE ORIGINAL COLA THAT DISCOVERED THUS TRICK COCA-COLA
YOU TOTALLY DIDN'T MENTION THE ORIGINAL#1 COLA THAT DISCOVERED THIS ACID EATING HACK COCA-COLA
really enjoy watching the installation vidz I can relate more to you then others because like you said you keep it simple and you don't have a massive crew or a fancy shop! Yo da man
I agree man, as much as I'd love to have all the expensive tools, I'm just an average joe.
I personally think the subwoofer should be pointed towards the back of the car, instead of pointed towards the windshield.. I mean I've done it like that for years.. the bass tends to be deeper and harder that way but I guess to each its own. Awesome!!!!

hahaha, the look on your face @EXOcontralto at 1:35, Love it!!
I can tell you one thing those Toyota STOCK door speakers sound amazing to be stock! My mom has a 2011 Toyota Camry and the bass only from the doors is just enough to be shaking some mirrors and the clarity is awesome! Toyota should start up a speaker company too! Who else agrees?
toyota probly out sourse for speakers and switches and stuffs like that , they problem arnt name brand speaker
Anti Venom My 05 Accord had stock pioneer 6x9s so you never know.
stock? that pretty cool, if only my stuff came with good stuff stock lol
Anti Venom they werent very good. Paper cone one way but pioneer none the less. Replaced them with jbl
well i guess stock never usually compares to aftermarket lmao
Agree with running the Amp power outside 100%. Safer and cover it in split loom or snakeskin or both.
that blue looks tasty
Mmm, I agree :)
You crazy love birds! You rock man! Keep havn fun!
The turtle is twerking better then Miley Cyrus
sounds so much better with head phones. Yea it sounds much better for sure!
stay away from led acid batteries.. buy agm only, they last longer if properly taken care of.. use your warranty before it expires, drain your battery and return it within warranty for a new one
Big fan of you bro.. U inspired me alot abt bass n dats true... From 🇮🇳 india thancx alot.. For such videos keep posting
Happy to have you on the channel, Abhinav!
Thanks for taking the time to comment, means a lot to me :)
have you ever done a "how to install a volt meter" video?
would love this!!!
Coming up soon!
" I run my wires under the car for safety" then zip ties power wire to fuel lines.XD
right lmfao
Thank god I’m a mechanic.... I could never let advance touch my car. 🤷🏻♂️
very impressed onthat single speaker looks like its putting work of a double speaker like common brand speakers
You really do seem like you make friends easy
1452 ive been runnin into you latly
NerdyBassHead 2004 ya
Hot water and backing soda cleans corrosion very well
Btw great vids EXO!
Much appreciated man, thanks for watching!
Since the seats come fold down, why not put the port facing forward?
Can I hook my zero wire to the back of the alternator????
Yes
Surprised you didn't have it facing rearward. Without sealing off the trunk I've always found rearward is SO much louder.
aero ported out the side, rear facing probably wouldnt make much diff
How bout the drawstring from your hoodie close to the drill. Made me nervous.
GOOD EYE!
Awe, driving off into the sunset, thumping!!
How do you keep the second battery in the trunk charged ?
Wire batteries in parallel
I'm surprised you don't tune lower. I love the lows myself and tune around 28hz. I play a lot in the mid to low 20hz range.
04DurangoLimited 5.7Hemi4x4 he built this for his girlfriends ride. she plays pop and such not decaf. he stated that in the last video.
Tuned for the Mrs, not myself.
Coke works well too. Just imagine what it's doing to your insides.
Oh it makes your insides numb
Vote Trump yup. Just like having Trump as president. Lol
I hate coke cuz that shit isnt good for u. Dark soda is horrible. Sprite and ginger ale I prefer.
EXACTLY!!
Sounds really good aint nothing like some good old BASS!
AMEN, Steve!!!!
where the notification gang at?
i like this kind of video. pls do more like this, very informative. thank you very much
your lady super cute! You guys look great together!
I'm loving the outcome.
goofy guy gotta love em.
Lmao I have that same exact 0 gauge nvx wiring sitting in my room with waterproof electrical tape on it as well 😂
Nice build EXO, Now its time to "Rip IT" oh dang wrong channel lol. Ps stop by mine for some car audio goods. Mad props to the editing on your vids too!! Peace bro
bigvell02 from Doug Bernards amplified right? 😂😂
RIP IT!!!!
I learned some new things. Great install from one car audio guy to another.
What brand ia the subwoffer?
Sound stream
Not just a drop in voltage, the added resistance will seriously affect current flow
Awesome like watching your videos
