Awesome review brother ✅ Hopping in to say from my understanding the field of view on the 40 is closer to 25mm, and that bmcc6k is a 3:2 sensor! + Keep up the great work, looking forward to more of it!
Hey man thanks for watching. Yes what I meant by 6:5 and 4:3 are the anamorphic modes on the Cinema 6K. These lenses won't work on open gate, they be heavily vignetted. And yes to actually get it in 2.39-1 you end up cropping into the image slightly, so you end up with something like the width of a 25mm spherical, but if you left it in the original aspect ratio it is like a 20mm spherical in width but again it's probably too thin of an aspect ratio to use. But thanks for the feedback bud I appreciate it.
It’s interesting that we have the low medium and high end for anamorphics now. It’s definitely making me rent less because even if I invest in the low end, I would want to use those lenses as much as possible to justify the purchase. But it’s great that we now have that medium range so that if I do rent it’s not £1000 like you said, it’s closer to the £300 like your average set
I totally agree! For £300 a day I'd happily use these on more projects, but the budget options for you the ability to have something in this ballpark to own for 1k - 1.5k (I'm looking at those Blazar Cato's). Again we are spoiled for choice with camera equipment.
I didn't have a chance to test them on those cameras, so not sure. But from what I know of those cameras is that they don't have a 4:3 s35 mode, which is ideally what you want to be shooting with lenses like these.
Man great review. They're a set of little powerful lenses, at a fraction of the price! Would love to use them in a future project

@@films_by_aw Really interseted to see how the price the Cato's against the Remus? what do you think 2k a lens?
@@thatcameranerd Hopefully £1.5k, but they are keeping it silent it seems at the moment
does it work with the FX3 & FX6?

5K per lens?? are you crazy? you can get the same look with the 200$ soviet Helios 44-2 lens
If it works for you sure.
